The main goal of my thesis is to map the legal regulation of municipal waste management in the Czech Republic. The reason for the study of the legal regulation is to establish whether the regulation has sufficient instruments to treat the municipal waste in compliance of the waste management hierarchy that is grounded in the European Union's Waste Framework Directive. The thesis also deals with the different concept of the municipal waste in Czech and European legislation. It mentions the differences that would be carried out to the field of municipal waste by the planned legislation.

Legal regime of municipal waste management This work about legal regime of municipal waste management in the Czech Republic begins with a chapter about some aspects of the municipal waste, especially the quantity in which the CR and the EU produces municipal waste, ways in which municipal waste is disposed and percentage limits which should be achieved in municipal waste management. Next part is started with a short flashback into the history of legislation of waste (and municipal waste as well) in the Czech Republic in the last 20 years - follows independence of the Czech Republic. Conception of municipal waste did not get throught a big changes during that decades, so didn't the system of municipal waste management. In the recent years there have been serious discussions about the new "waste" law and after the new Goverment was elected they started again, also we will see if the new law will see the lights of the world. It is quite complicated to evaluate the hazardous waste production and management because the terminology is inconsistent and the legislation differs across countries. This makes it very difficult to compare data among countries and even within the same one. Hence the same data may vary by several tens of percent if they are generated according to different directives. This work deals with evaluation of the production of hazardous waste belonging to the group 20 in Catalogue of wastes. The total production of the hazardous waste from municipalities and citizens (households) is evaluated over a period 2008 - 2011 and the production in the capital city of Prague is for a term of 2006 - 2012. All the types of hazardous waste of the group 20 in Catalogue of wastes cannot be treated individually, due to their high number, and therefore they were arranged into seven groups, which were further processed statistically. The dominant component in both test cases is paint, the total production contains also big amount of electrical waste, fluorescent lamps and batteries. In 2010 the municipal elections took place in the Czech Republic. In this theses there are applied some of the knowledge from the area of the public choice theory and the game theory to the results of the pre-election surveys and results of the elections. Firstly the methods for allocating seats are applied on data from the surveys and election results. The power indices are calculated for all the proportion of allocation of mandates in order to qualify the bargaining power. The results of elections are analysed and compared with two previous periods and with the pre-election surveys. The bargaining power is confronted according to the indices with the results of post-elections negotiations.

Diplomová práce se zabývá systémem nakládání komunálním odpadem v Rakovníku. První kapitola práce seznamuje s platnou právní úpravou v oblasti odpadů. Druhá kapitola obsahuje popis systému nakládání komunálním odpadem v Rakovníku v současnosti, na základě níž jsou v této části práce též hledány slabé stránky tohoto systému a hodnocena adekvátnost stanovených cílů Plánu odpadového hospodářství města. Dále jsou zde navržena nejdůležitější konkrétní opatření k vylepšení tohoto systému. Třetí část práce se zabývá analýzou ekonomické stránky odpadového hospodářství v Rakovníku. Konkrétně jsou zde popsány a hodnoceny jednotlivé příjmy, struktura výdajů a konečný výsledek (deficit) odpadového hospodaření města.

This thesis examines the possibility of using the energy potential of waste produced in Ostrava and its surroundings. The aim of this work is to determine whether it makes sense to build a waste incineration plant with energy usage. The thesis also deals with possibilities of heat utilisation, which is produced by the combustion of municipal waste. In the first part is evaluated quantity and composition of the produced waste. The methods of deliveries and the amounts of thermal energy in the selected area are described next. On the base of this information, the facility is designed. Finally, the possible contributions to the region are evaluated.

The diploma thesis is focused on OSMONT s.r.o.'s waste management system analysis. Basic terms related to valid legal and normative regulations in the area of waste management are characterised within the paper. Under the thesis assignment, waste type and composition is specified, reflecting the production process of the company. The paper also mentions operation and running specifics of production processes within the business entity. Based on the waste management analysis, an evaluation of the current system was conducted. In conclusion, practical recommendations for changes and improvement of the current waste disposal system in OSMONT s.r.o. were proposed.

This thesis focuses on biodegradable waste in Tišnov. The first part is to reveal the basic terms of the issue including the present situation in the selected municipality and described the legislative environment regulating discussed topic. The labor monitor the development of production of biodegradable waste and costs related with their classification and then describes the differences and causes of changes. On the basis of a questionnaire survey is derived public opinion to this topic. In the final step the results are commented and according to the conclusions proposals for improvements are formulated.

The thesis is focused on the research and analysis of the development of the local party system, particularly in Říčany, from 1994 to 2014. The aim of the thesis is to verify the applicability of theoretical foundations that operate at parliamentary level party systems. At the same time, the thesis analyses the election results, the characteristics of the political entities and identifying factors that party system operates. The theoretical part deals with the bases of public administration, with detailed characteristic of municipalities, political parties and party systems, including distribution to the local level and civic participation. The analytical part consists of characteristics selected municipality, socio-economic and demographic indicators, describing the political entities, analysis of election results for the reporting period and the approach of political participation of citizen in Říčany. In conclusion, an evaluation of the election period and the determination of the party system in conjunction with a comparison of theoretical knowledge.

This thesis is conceived as a comprehensive document about energy utilization of waste in appropriate facilities. In the first part, the thesis deals with the issue of waste production and disposal with it. Subsequently, for the introduction to the topic of Waste to Energy, is chronologically described history of energy utilization of waste in Czech Republic and also the technology of facilities, where the combustion with subsequent utilization of energy occurs. Thesis likewise contains a list of currently operating WTE plants and information about future projects for their construction in the Czech Republic. As a crucial part, is considered the assessment of WTE plants, both in terms of the impact on saving fossil fuels, and in terms of potential impact on the environment. The conclusion brings economical evaluation, which is focused on the economic efficiency of investment into these facilities.
