Jag läser för att hon kräver det... : En studie av föräldrars vanor kring högläsning

Ersson Lundgren, Anna January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis was to investigate parents´ habit of reading aloud to their children. Based on various studies carried out in the subject reading aloud, which showed a reduction in the parent´s reading aloud? I wanted to examine whether it is really so bad with parents aloud habits that examine the entries shown. I also examined the reading parents´ purpose of reading aloud.    The empiric material was collected through questionnaires comprising 14 questions filled out by 32 parents with children of preschool age. To complete my survey I conducted interviews with three parents.   The analysis of my two studies showed that, in contrast to other studies of reading habits, parents read aloud to their children to a great extent. As for parents reading aloud habits my analysis showed that the average reading time for all parents range from 11 to 20 minutes per session. The analysis also showed that the main purpose of reading aloud was the interaction between child and parent. Most parents felt the main purpose was interaction between child and parent.   Based on Dominkovic, Eriksson & Fellenius model, which I present the theoretical basis, I have tried to deposit and analyze the responses I received through my two surveys. What I have seen is that parents attach importance to dialogue, proximity, common focus and a common time which together favors spoken language development and thus the child's future learning situation.   The main aim of my thesis is to find out how parents reading aloud habits are and I am aware that my two studies in no way can be used to generally assess and make reading aloud habits in general amongst parents. I hope that the paper can inspire teachers, librarians and others who see the amazing power of reading aloud, to talk to parents to not only read aloud but also to get them to reflect on why they read and get them to make reading aloud one of today's most important moments.
