[en] The five Mathieu groups, M24;M23;M22;M12 and M11, form the first

In this paper we present the Mathieu groups and some objects related to
building them as the Golay code and the Steiner system. Also, throughout
the text, arose spontaneously some subgroups of groups of Mathieu.

For the free rotor, eigenfunctions of the angular momentum operator, as well as eigenfunctions of the parity operator are considered. It is demonstrated that the periodicity of the probability density implies periodic or anti-periodic eigenfunctions. It is shown that the anti-periodic eigenfunctions, because they are discontinuous, or because they have discontinuous first derivatives, are illicit. Then, a few thermodynamic properties of the free rotor are investigated. With a periodic potential V (θ) = V0 (1 − cosNθ) defined on the ring, the problem is mapped in the well-known Mathieu equation with solutions expressed in terms of the eigenfunctions of the parity operator. Again, it is shown that the boundary conditions that make anti-periodic eigenfunctions are illegitimate, reaffirming the results most commonly found in the literature. The low and high energies limits are fully satisfactory. With N = 6 in V (θ), and fulcrum on the Hückel molecular orbital theory, a phenomenological approach to the molecule of benzene is used via the concept of effective moment of inertia in the description of spectroscopy in ultraviolet region

CONSTRUCTIONS AND ISOMORPHISM TYPES OF IMAGESRamirez, Jessica Luna 01 December 2015 (has links)
In this thesis, we have presented our discovery of true finite homomorphic images of various permutation and monomial progenitors, such as 2*7: D14, 2*7 : (7 : 2), 2*6 : S3 x 2, 2*8: S4, 2*72: (32:(2S4)), and 11*2 :m D10. We have given delightful symmetric presentations and very nice permutation representations of these images which include, the Mathieu groups M11, M12, the 4-fold cover of the Mathieu group M22, 2 x L2(8), and L2(13). Moreover, we have given constructions, by using the technique of double coset enumeration, for some of the images, including M11 and M12. We have given proofs, either by hand or computer-based, of the isomorphism type of each image. In addition, we use Iwasawa's Lemma to prove that L2(13) over A5, L2(8) over D14, L2(13) over D14, L2(27) over 2D14, and M11 over 2S4 are simple groups. All of the work presented in this thesis is original to the best of our knowledge.

Matjė tipo diferencialinių lygčių atraktorių skaičiavimas operatoriniu bei Rungės ir Kutos metodais / Calculation of attractors of Mathieu-type differential equations using operator and Runge & KuttaKrencevičiūtė, Jolanta 07 June 2005 (has links)
Various real processes, occurring in the nature, technology, etc., are usually described by differential equations. Due to the development of computer software, computers have become the main tool for solving problems of different fields. They enable not only to solve complex differential equations or their systems, but also to analyze the dependence of differential equations solutions on various parameters and initial values. Up to the present many methods for the solution of differential equations have been developed, therefore, the user can solve differential equation, using several different methods. Different methods of solution enable to avoid various mistakes and to reduce errors. Differential equations can be solved not only using numerical methods, but also by applying methods of algebraic operator equations. When the latter method is being used, solutions are expressed in power series, the convergence of which has to be analyzed separately. This paper includes the analysis of Mathieu-type differential equations solutions dependence on initial conditions and parameters, as well as the establishment of solutions attractor zones and curves, which separate different attractor zones. It is very important to indicate the most exact crossing limits among different attractor zones. In order to avoid huge errors, we carried out the research by using two methods: operator and Runge-Kutta.
