This theses conserns with the theme of the role of media education at formation of the media literacy of young people. This segment of population is found in the part of life, when the life values and life habits are forming This theses is conceived as theoretic - empirical cultural- studies concept, which is researching "media behavior", media literacy and it's compatibility with everyday-life of this population segment. It comes from assumption, that it is necessary to put focus on family - and school influence on formation of media literacy of young people. It aims for answering some key-questions, which flow from this assumption. The text is divided into three parts In the first, theoretical part, I pay attention to terms culture, socialization, enculturation and I engage with media communication, media literacy and media education. The next, empirical part, in which I formulize hypotheses, I put questions to them for polling and consequently based on acquired data appreciate, how much is possible the verifiing of mentioned hypotheses. The third part contains the final summary and includes generalizing interpretation of results and resumes.

The diploma theses focus on Media pedagogy as a field of study. It analyzes the educational frameworks for primary and secondary schools which focuses on topic of media. By this it analyzes the possibilities of education for Czech teachers and feature educators. The result is the intersection between requirements of frameworks and current educational possibilities for teachers. Firstly it describes topics that are covered by czech educational systém described in educational frameworks, then it analyzes topics that suppose to be covered but are not provided by current offer of courses. The topics that are demanded by the frameworks are compared with possibilities introduced by foreign universities. By that it introduces programs and subjects that can be an inspiration for czech educational systém. The intersection provies key subjects and topics that can be helpful as a proposal of new college degree Media pedagogy which could prepare czech media education teachers for their subject. Provided structure reflects current demands introduced by frameworks as well as modern didactics in the field of media education and trends in media studies.

This diploma thesis deals with media education and the opinion of students on this subject, especially those who have already graduated. The demand for media literacy and related media education began to be widely discussed with the rise of the Internet, increasing the pressure on schools and teachers to teach this subject). The aim of the thesis is to find out mainly what they would change about it, what alterations would they make in the subject. A questionnaire survey based mainly on open-ended questions is chosen to obtain the data needed for the conslusion. This questionnaire will be distributed to those schools that teach this subject. Subsequently, the answers of the students will be evaluated, as well as what they are interested in and especially how they perceive the meaningfulness and usefulness of the subject.

Diploma thesis deals with the issue of media literacy among older school-age pupils. The aim of the thesis is to present how the pupils of the second level of primary schools and grammar schools understand media literacy and the concepts connected with it. The theoretical part of the thesis provides a basic overview of media literacy associated with the definition of terms closely related to this topic and approaches the current form of school media education in the Czech Republic. The empirical part maps the opinions of pupils of two primary schools and pupils of two eight-year grammar schools on this issue. The research was conducted by using a qualitative method of focus group.

This paper focuses on the much discussed topic of media literacy. Rather than focussing on the education of pupils, it turns to the possibilities of education primarily of high school teachers in the area of media education. It briefly presents the issue of media education and media literacy, and its historical tradition in the Czech lands. It focuses on the principles and rules of adult education from the point of view of andragogy. It analyses the offer of training programs, seminars, professional literature and specialized websites from non-profit organizations, private companies, the state and universities. A separate chapter provides an overview of the subjects taught with media themes at faculties of education. The research focuses on educational strategies and approaches to teaching media skills among several teachers from grammar schools in Plzen. It not only evaluates the amount and type of used forms of education, but takes a closer look at the motivation of teachers for further professional self-development, their relationship to the media and individual capabilities in the implementation of cross-cutting topics at individual schools. This thesis aims to explore important research projects conducted in the field of media education and media literacy during approximately the first decade of 21st century in Europe. It deals with research studies covering three areas: research as a tool of consensus, research of media education at schools and research about children and young people and their access to new technologies. The thesis looks into initiatives and legislative measures by the European Union in the area of media literacy development, informs about progress in the field of research projects dealing with media education and presents also the EU Kids Online project. Further it compares 2 research studies conducted in Great Britain in 2010 and introduces the British regulator OFCOM and its research production on the subject of media literacy of children and adults. Based on the presented findings a research study for Czech Republic is proposed on the topic of parental mediation in the internet environment.

This diploma thesis engage in the manipulation aimed at primary school children, especially manipulation of commercial and its effect on the child recipient. The theoretical part of thesis defines terms manipulation, media and advertisement, as well as media education in the current curriculum, in the general educational program and in the textbooks for 1st primary schools. The empirical part of thesis is divided into the methodical unit and experimental unit. The methodical unit describes the implemented project for advertisement and defense against media manipulation. Observations took place during the project, the results of this observation are described in the experimental unit. It is included questionnaire survey and its analysis. The last part of this thesis is concept of methodics, which outlines strategies to help prevent the possible manipulation.

The master thesis deals with educational approaches and attitudes to social networking sites in leisure education in Czech Budweis. The theoretical background describes current social networking sites and benefits for their users. Next there are descriptions of puberty years, of leisure time as a time when social networking sites are used the most and of leisure education. The thesis includes comparison of Czech and Dutch approaches to media education in their educational systems. The research part includes opinions of leaders working in leisure education in Czech Budweis about an educational influencing of using of social networking sites and their experiences. Into research were joined 9 schools and school institutions for leisure education from Czech Budweis. The first part of the respondents do not devote to education of using of social networking sites. The second half of the respondents is trying to educate children to be conscious about risks, to understand to rules of social networking sites. Leaders talk with the children about a content which the children see on their accounts. But the leader´s influence causes just that the children know theoretical informations. So it is important to find a way how to teach children in a way that leader´s educational approaches make them behave differently and make them know about other possibilities of using social networking sites.

Chemické omyly ve světle skutečnosti - identifikace a vysvětlení / Chemical mistakes in the light of reality - identification and explanation

This thesis deals with widespread, chemically-themed misinformation. The the- oretical part describes psychological effects leading to myth spreading. It also descri- bes the debunking possibilities of such myths and the didactic reasons for misinformation- based work on the high school level. General practical part uses methods of content analysis upon random sample of School educational programmes to prove the usability of misinformation-based work in education. It also summarizes the organisations and resources useful for myth debunking. Specific practical part deals with analysis of chosen suspicious information, their credibility and the possibilities of educational work based on them. The chosen in- formation was the "medicinal" usage of chlorine dioxide solution. Rumors of alkaline diet and alleged harmfulness of aspartame, an artificial sweetener, were also chosen. The way they tend to be presented, none of these claims are backed. In all these cases, multiple unsubstantiated claims were found among proponents of these ideas.
