Master's Thesis focuses on current position of ethics in the Czech media. The main subject is the code of ethics (or code of conduct). The first part of the thesis offers a theoretical background of the topic. I am pursuing the terminology referred to the media ethics topic. Together with scholarly resources I provide definitions of terms such as ethics, morality and code of ethics in media. Summary of relevant Czech codes of conduct is essential for this thesis. First, I present the codes in a brief list and table, more detailed analysis follows. The focus is on differences and specification of each of them. After that I present an analysis of ethical rules valid in foreign countries - European states and the United States in particular. Theoretical part is followed by practical part of the thesis. It is based on interviews with experts which are semi- anonymous and semi-structured. I interview eight employees of Czech media after formulating several hypotheses. I chose experts who have been working in media for many years - mainly chief editors or top managers in press, TV, radio or online media. The main goal of this thesis is to examine the sings of fictionalization in Czech daily press. We will apply out hypothesis that news in daily papers are permeated with signs of fiction. In the theoretical part we will explain some of the most important media-related terms as "news", "publicism", "journalism" etc plus we will devote one chapter to the definition of fiction. We will also explain the meaning of fictionalization and describe fields where it can take effect. As our main source we are choosing Czech daily paper called "Mladá fronta DNES" in the period from August 2009 till January 2010. In the analytical part we will analyse the news and describe all the signs of fictionalization that we find (if we find some). We will focus on domestic, global and economical news. After the analysis we will be able to ether confirm or disprove the hypothesis. All our findings will be detailed in the summary.

Na pesquisa de campo investigaram-se as notícias produzidas pela mídia e se estavam sendo utilizadas como fonte de pesquisa entre professores e alunos do Instituto Estadual de Educação na cidade de Florianópolis. O recorte espacial é a América Latina e seu contexto sócio-político-econômico. Inicialmente discutiu-se nesse trabalho uma suposta ‗invisibilidade da América Latina na mídia, mas que no decorrer da pesquisa verificou-se que de fato estávamos diante de uma ‗nova visibilidade da América Latina na mídia frente aos acontecimentos de maior importância. A partir da Educomunicação foi investigada a prática da mediação tecnológica na educação, pois os recursos desse campo podem contribuir para prática pedagógica dos profissionais da educação e ao mesmo tempo, permite que haja uma maior contextualização em relação ao tempo presente, pois as notícias do cotidiano não podem passar incólumes aos educadores e seus alunos e que isso seja feito de uma forma crítica e bastante contextualizada.

The diploma thesis Czech Press for People Called up to Do Forced Labour in Nazi Germany deals with the weekly Czech Labourer which was sent to the Czech workers called up to German factories during the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia within the years 1939-1945. The thesis aims at exploring its origin, publishing and changes concerning its publishers and owners. It also analyses its distribution to Nazi Germany and its content in detail. Furthermore, by means of the quantitative analysis the thesis surveys the thematic agenda of the main articles on the front pages. It discusses the impact of the propagandistic information in media on those who were called up to do forced labour. Within the context, this paper examines the operation of media during the period of Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
