Způsoby politického čtení v postsocialistickém Česku a Polsku / The methods of political reading in post-socialist Czechia and Poland

Blažková, Hana January 2019 (has links)
This thesis aims to analyze Czech literary criticism of the 1990s from the perspective of political reading. In the first part, the basic tendencies of Polish literary criticism are introduced: these form a contrast to the Czech context and also problematize some underlying notions of Czech literary historiography. The second part discusses the following terms: politics and police Rancière), depoliticization (Schmitt, Barthes) and ideology (Eagleton). These are adjusted to the specifics of the Czech context. The practical part of the thesis looks at the political interpretation of the critical reception of three novels by Michal Viewegh. The topics of the reception becomes the focus here: the debates around these novels include suppressed political messages such as the fight for the historical narrative of the previous political regime, or the disputes over high and low literature. These reflect the helplessness of the literary field, caused by the pressure of the commercialized book market. This part also looks at the contemporary debates on the so-called authentic literature and two program manifestoes. These examples show that the Czech literary field's proclaimed split from politics is only rhetorical: the result is not its autonomy, but an unreflected heteronomy.

Por fim, serão feitas simulações e interpretados os resultados a partir das visões inicialmente discutidas no primeiro capítulo / Abstract: The main objective of this work is to present a neokaleckian model with productive structure parameters and to simulate it to the Brazilian economy. Firstly, I analyze distinct theories on the relationship between macroeconomic variables in an economic system. Secondly, I introduce the neokaleckian model of growth and distribution. Using the the neokaleckian model calibrated to the Brazilian economy for year 2011, I simulate the possible impacts on distinct variables. For this, I use the model described by Cimoli, Lima e Porcile (2013) to the short run. This model adds some elements of production structure and structural change to the traditional neokaleckian models. The parameters were calibrated from empirical data and calculated by a methodology proposed in the second chapter. Finally, simulations are made and the results are interpreted using the macroeconomic visions described in the first chapter / Mestrado / Teoria Economica / Mestre em Ciências Econômicas

The new within the given : collage principles and processes in contemporary painting

Edelsburg, Zahava 01 1900 (has links)
Collage is presented as an allegoric art-form sui generis, considering allegory itself as an open-ended form of art. The research provides a suggestion to a different understanding of collage i.e.: as a catalyst for a search for structure and semiotic relationships in an attempt to overcome a constant disordered expansion of an intertextual web and hermeneutic possibilities; and as an open work, providing multi-layered meanings. As an open work collage is typified by the prominent role of its "readers", its ambiguity and the infinite net of references it summons. Collage may be conceived as a bridge between modernism and postmodernism, structuralism and post-structuralism; as a model for constant innovation and suppleness; as a stimulator for meta-artistic questions, acceptance of "soft" universals and reevaluation of the role of the Other within an artwork. Works by Jasper Johns, Michal Na'aman, Dina Hoffman and myself exemplify these ideas. / Visual Arts / M.A. (Visual Arts)

Vybrané kauzy třetí Mečiarovy vlády a "bias" ve zpravodajství Slovenské televize / Selected causes of the third Mečiar's goverment on the biased news of the Slovak television

Pauková, Kristina January 2012 (has links)
The Master's Thesis "The selected cases of the third Mečiar's government and the bias in news coverage in the Slovak television" analyses a period of the third Mečiar's government on the basis of research focusing on the presence of bias in the news coverage in the Slovak television. This institution, which provides the public service broadcasting, is in general considered as a politicians' tool and during 1994-98 is described as a medium subordinated to the coalition government of that time, or even to a single political party. Due to the previous research dealing with election campaigns in 1998 we decided to focus on two significant events - the kidnapping of Michal Kováč jr. in 1995 and the 1997 referendum, which could present an illustration of the media production during the respected period. Closer characteristics of the socio-political situation with the accent on the selected cases is outlined in the introductory part of the work together with the bias issue and the concept of public service broadcasting. In this work we pay attention to the characteristics of evolution of the Slovak television after 1989 as well, and to a closer description of its functioning and broadcasting in 1994-1998. The final part deals with the very research of bias in the main STV news programme by using the...

The economic theories of Rosa Luxemburg and Michal Kalecki: continuity or rupture?

Charron, Alexandre 30 August 2018 (has links)
From the time of its first publication, Rosa Luxemburg’s main economic work, The Accumulation of Capital, was heavily criticized. This set a precedent towards the dismissal of her economic theory which has continued almost to the present day. Very recently, however, a stream of literature favourable to Luxemburg has begun to emerge. Commentators in this group have attempted to re-evaluate Luxemburg’s contribution to Marxian economic theory by, among other approaches, attempting to show her as an important precursor to Michal Kalecki. This work operates within this framework. It attempts to further specify the nature of the theoretical relationship between Luxemburg and Kalecki by closely examining and comparing the economic theories of the two thinkers. What such a study reveals, however, is that this relationship is better defined as a one of rupture rather than of continuity. While Kalecki seems to accept the basic structure of Luxemburg’s argument, he modifies and qualifies it in so many respects as to make it almost unrecognizable. But such a divergence between the theories is hardly surprising if we view them in their proper historical contexts. The differing empirical, personal and political backgrounds from which the theories emerged is what would have led to the development of the divergent elements within them. Such substantial differences in the contexts which gave rise to the respective theories underscore the ill-advised nature of the attempt to draw too strong a link between the economic thought of Luxemburg and Kalecki. / Graduate

František de Meyronnes: Kritická edice a analýza Traktátu Passione Domini / Francis of Meyronnes's Tractatus de passione Domini: Critical edition and analysis

Burgazzi, Riccardo January 2015 (has links)
Univerzita Karlova v Praze Filozofická fakulta Ústav řeckých a latinských studií Latinská medievistika a neolatinská studia Abstract Francis of Meyronnesʼ Tractatus de passione Domini: Critical edition and analysis Školitel: doc. Mgr. Lucie Doležalová, M.A., Ph.D. 2015 Riccardo Burgazzi Abstract Francis of Meyronnes (1288 - 1328) was a theologian and a sermonist, disciple of John Duns Scotus. He studied at the University of Paris and taught in several provincial studia in France and in Italy. He became master of theology in 1323 and he was named Provincial Minister of Provence in 1324; later, he moved to Avignon, where he worked as a preacher and a counselor. Francis of Meyronnes wrote an impressive number of works that can be classified as philosophical, political, and devotional. Meyronnes' Tractatus de Passione Domini, the subject of this dissertation, could be dated between 1318 and 1320, when Francis was Baccalarius Biblicus in Paris. It was probably written for his brothers in order to provide them with a biblical commentary which could have been an instrument for helping them in the composition of their own sermons and works. As Tobias Kemper claims, the authors from the Late Middle Ages used to tell the Passion mainly in two ways: in form of "meditations" or in form of "narrative representations"....
