Administrativní regulování migračních procesů v sovětské a postsovětské Moskvě. / Administrative Regulation of Migration Processes in Soviet and post-Soviet Moscow.

Andrle, Jakub January 2018 (has links)
This dissertation analyses the system of internal passports as a central administrative instrument of controlling migration processes in the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia. Specifically, the study focuses on the topic of using the passport system, and the restrictions incorporated in this system, on the territory of Moscow. The aim of the study is two-fold. Firstly, it strives to identify, from a position of historical institutionalism, the factors which allowed Moscow, many years after the dissolution of the USSR, to control migration processes within its borders using distinctively "Soviet" methods, in clear violation of federal laws. On a different level of analysis, the dissertation focusses on the regulatory methods themselves: it examines the genesis and early evolution of the internal passport system and the mechanism of so-called propiska (registration), in the era of Stalinist industrialization, before turning to the process of the system's erosion and partial dismantling during the late Soviet and early post-Soviet years. Finally, the study aims to analyse the methods chosen for controlling migration in Moscow during the rule of mayor Yuri Luzhkov (1992-2010), and the way his policies affected the migration situation in Russia's capital.

Chrám Pokrovu přesvaté Bohorodice Marfo-marijského kláštera v Moskvě / Church of Protection of the Mother of God of Marfo-Mariinsky Convent in Moscow

Tiagusheva, Tatiana January 2019 (has links)
The subject of the master's thesis is the Church of the Protection of the Mother of God in the Marfo-Mariinsky Convent in Moscow, the early work from 1908-1912, which has not drawn attention in the Czech scientific literature. A special chapter is devoted to the history of the Marfo- Mariinsky Convent, its founder Grand Duchess Elizabeth and her personality and conventual life. The church is described in an analytical way as a specific Gesamtkunstwerk, which unites architecture, interior decoration, sculptural decorations and iconography. The analysis and the interpretation of the church focus on references to the traditional Russian architecture. Two chapters distinctively explain the place, which the church takes in Alexey Viktorovich Shchusev's and Mikhail Vasilyevich Nesterov's numerous works. The thesis contains documents of the church and exterior and interior photos.

Löfgren, Jonas January 2023 (has links)
This study examines the framing of the sinking of the Russian cruiser and flagship of the Black Sea fleet Moskva in 2022 during the Russo-Ukrainian War, focusing on the variation in the post-hoc battle for meaning. Specifically, the analysis explores the role of targeting and its relationship to strategic narratives. Employing a framing analysis approach, the study investigates how the framing surrounding success, failure and deterrence was communicated. By examining various textual sources, including media reports and official statements, the analysis uncovers different framing strategies employed by the different actors involved. The findings shed light on how the event was portrayed, the underlying narratives that shaped the framing and the implications of these narratives on the perception of success or failure and the concept of deterrence.

När historikerna besökte Moskva : En historiografisk undersökning av Kommittén för nordisk utforskning av ryska arkiv

Sonesson, Elias January 2023 (has links)
This study investigates The Committee for Nordic exploration of Russian archives and what we can learn about the historiographical situation in the interwar period. The committee was active during 1928-1932 and was a collaboration between many senior historians from Sweden, Denmark and Norway. During the 1920s they gained permission and access to the Soviet central archives in Moscow, to look at documents that was related to Scandinavian history. The problem this study is trying to tackle is what kind of shape historiography took in Sweden when historians were involved in a large international project. The study’s purpose is to learn what Swedish historians thought was interesting and important in the subject of history, which in turn can aid the understanding of the historiography of military history since that is a subcategory of history in large. To achieve the purpose this study asks the question “is there a type of historiography that characterized the planning and work carried out by the Committee for Nordic Exploration of Russian Archives?”. As theory this study will use Carsten Holbraad’s interpretation of the concepts of liberal nationalism and liberal internationalism and to see if these concepts can be observed within the work and research of The Committee for Nordic exploration of Russian archives. The research will rely on qualitative methodology and will use textual analysis to answer the research question. During the research it will be established that the Swedish historians within the committee, was the most interested in obtaining and copy documents from the years after 1809, the 1760s and from 1648. In the end this study concludes that the committee represented the academia’s general view on history but were sometimes hindered in publishing everything they found due to pressure from above. The historians also did not mind the research into periods of peace and periods of national trauma. In the case of the concepts of liberal nationalism and internationalism, the study concludes that they are somewhat present in the committee’s work.
