Framtidens TV-fäste : Ett projekt i samarbete med People of Lava SwedenTrygg, Rasmus, Hjort, Robin January 2011 (has links)
Rapporten behandlar en produktutveckling av framtidens TV-fäste. Teknik och form hos TV-apparater utvecklas varje dag, detta leder till att TV-fästen måste anpassas för att följa trenderna. I samarbete med företaget People of Lava har en designprocess utförts för att utveckla framtidens TV-fäste. Rapporten behandlar en djup marknadsundersökning där statistiska, kvalitativa samt kvantitativa undersökningar utförs. Detta ligger sedan som grund för en target cost där ett produktionspris söks för att försäkra sig om en önskad vinstmarginal för företaget. Utifrån den bestämda kostnaden genomförs konceptgenereringar där form och funktioner utvecklas. De genererade koncepten utvärderas via konceptvalsmatriser och diskussion med såväl företaget som möjliga köpare av produkten. Resultatet av processen är ett TV-fäste som inte är anpassad till den standard som vanligtvis används hos TV-fästen. Ett exklusivt fäste med integrerad förvaring som står ut på marknaden och blir en del av inredningen. Fästet erbjuder företaget en miljövänlig tillverkning i Sverige, då närproducerat material valts för produkten.

This thesis is focused on conceptual design of electric powered training aircraft, using certification guidelines CS-LSA. Designing process of geometrical and aerodynamic characteristics is primary based on statistics of certificated aircrafts in this particular category. The following calculation of performance stabilities and flight performances is based on knowledge of aerodynamic polar. The calculation of the polar is also part of this thesis. The last part of the thesis consists of construction design of the front part of fuselage and engine static structural analysis of engine mounts.

ABSTRAKT: The main subject of this thesis is focused on preparation of taxidermal mounts with use of mammal bones and skins and their use as teaching aids. The target group are school children both of elementary and secondary schools. The thesis describes methods of bone preservation and cleaning, skin tanning and preparation of taxidermal mounts. I deal in it also with preparation of large vertebrates' skulls and preparation of taxidermal mounts. The procedures are described in details and the following chapters include photos of dissections made by me. Preparation of 4 bird and 6 mammal species is described. The diploma thesis works to verify the diploma thesis Martin Chlad, who recently developer a detailed methodology for body preparation of the whole fish. The result of the practical part of the thesis are fish models that serve to extend the collections of the Department of Biology and Ecological Studies and to extend the collections of the Biological Cabinet to my current work place at elementary school in Prague 9.

Isolation of Temporary Storage in High Performance Computing via Linux NamespacingSatchwell, Steven Tanner 01 June 2018 (has links)
Per job isolation of temporary file storage in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments provide benefits in security, efficiency, and administration. HPC system administrators can use the mount_isolation Slurm task plugin to improve security by isolating temporary files where no isolation previously existed. The mount_isolation plugin also increases efficiency by removing obsolete temporary files immediately after each job terminates. This frees valuable disk space in the HPC environment to be used by other jobs. These two improvements reduce the amount of work system administrators must expend to ensure temporary files are removed in a timely manner.Previous temporary file removal solutions were removal on reboot, manual removal, or removal through a Slurm epilog script. The epilog script was the most effective of these, allowing files to be removed in a timely manner. However, HPC users can have multiple supercomputing jobs running concurrently. Temporary files generated by these concurrent or overlapping jobs are only deleted by the epilog script when all jobs run by that user on the compute node have completed. Even though the user may have only one running job, the temporary directory may still contain temporary files from many previously executed jobs, taking up valuable temporary storage on the compute node. The mount_isolation plugin isolates these temporary files on a per job basis allowing prompt removal of obsolete files regardless of job overlap.

Vibration Modeling and Experimental Analysis of a Locomotive CabVenezia, James J. Jr. 01 May 1997 (has links)
This study evaluates noise and vibrations in a heavy freight locomotive cab, and provides several measures for providing more comfort to the crew. A full-scale production cab and sill structure is used to provide the results. The cab is setup in a controlled laboratory environment in a manner similar to the installation on a locomotive. Field measurements are used to emulate actual vibration input to the cab structure. A 16-channel data acquisition system is used to collect both noise and vibration data on various parts of the cab structure and inside the cab.
Upon establishing the baseline for laboratory vibration measurements and correlating them with field data, a design of experiment was conducted to evaluate the vibration contribution of various parts of the cab. This showed that the cab floor and cab roof had the largest vibrations. A series of solutions including stiffening the cab floor and damping the cab roof were investigated. The results showed that although such solutions reduce localized vibrations, the overall effect on reducing cab interior noise is minimal.
As a more global solution, the cab was isolated from the sill structure through six elastomeric elements mounted at the base of the cab and at the crash post. The mounts at the base were selected such that they support the static weight of the cab, provide a resonance frequency that is below the excitation range, and offer good lateral and longitudinal stability. Two tube-form elastomeric mounts were placed between the cab structure and the crash posts which attach to the front of the sill structure.
The test results showed that the soft-mounted cab had significantly lower noise and vibration than the original cab. The vibration levels were reduced 10 to 100 times at certain locations and frequency ranges. The overall noise level was reduced by approximately 6 dBA. In an attempt to provide an estimate of effectiveness of the mounts with different stiffness values, a simulation model was prepared in Matlab. Although the model did not yield accurate results, it resulted in several recommendations for future research work. / Master of Science

Design of a flexure mount for optics in dynamic and cryogenic environmentsPollard, Lloyd Wayne, 1936- January 1988 (has links)
The design of the flexure mount recently submitted to NASA Ames for the structural support of the primary mirror of the Space Infrared Telescope Facility (SIRTF) is presented. The flexure system must passively accommodate the differential thermal contraction between the glass mirror and the aluminum structure of the telescope during cryogenic cooldown. Further, it must support the one meter diameter, 116 kilogram (258 pound) primary mirror during a severe launch to orbit. Procedures used to establish the required radial compliance using computer programs NASTRAN and FRINGE are discussed. The parametric design program developed to study early concepts is presented. Methods of combining modal responses resulting from a displacement response spectrum analysis are discussed, and a combination scheme called MRSS, Modified Root of Sum of Squares, is presented. Modal combination schemes using MRSS, SRSS, and ABS are compared to the results of a Modal Frequency Response analysis.

The aim of the study was to identify which objects these flat fragments were originally derived from. The aim was also to discuss the function of these objects and their presence in the hall. This would hopefully increase the knowledge about the hall and the warriors who lived and worked there. In some cases the fragments form and placement in the hall has not provided enough information to classify the object from which they derived. Where it has been possible, a majority of the fragments has been interpreted as parts of chest mounts or shield buckles. The result of the analysis shows the possibility of a large chest having once stood in the southwest corner of the hall.</p>
