Kemisk betsning : En jämförande studie av recept

Dahlsten, Elin January 2012 (has links)

Kashizadeh Ghalibaf, Faranak January 2013 (has links)

Sandin, Karin January 2013 (has links)

Högfors Lindståhl, Alicia January 2019 (has links)
During the excavation of the Warriors Hall in the viking town Birka fragments of a pointed shield boss were found. Through conservation and reconstruction it is examined in an attempt to categorize it. Its unusual characteristics sparks questions about its supposed type R565 and whether R565 is applicable due to its broad criteria which is done through an empirical study of European shield bosses, their diffusion and influences. This essay explores the possibilities of Rygh's type 565 suddenly appearing in the mid 900s as a change in the warrior’s equipment, fighting technique and influence following the raiding and Scandinavian colonization of Ireland and the British Isles.

Konservera eller kassera : förvaring och vård av biblioteksmaterial på 40 svenska folkbibliotek / Preserve or Discard : keeping and prevervation of library materials at 40 Swedish public libraries

Holmqvist, Maria January 1996 (has links)
This thesis is based on an investigation to find out in what way 40 Swedish public librarieskeep and preserve their library materials. The investigation is based on inquiries sent outto the libraries. It deals with the keeping of books with regard to external factors which havedestructive effects on library materials as well as the safety at the library buildings. It is, aswell, about the preserving work being done at the libraries.Comparisons are made with literature and accounts about preserving measures and recommendationsregarding appropriate environment in premises and depositories. The resultsshow great differences between the libraries as to the library environment, i.e. from payingattention to the factors and taking measures to taking no measures at all. The safety concerningtheft and fire varies as well. Most of the libraries have old and/or special collections. Nearly all the libraries do simplerepairing themselves, while over half the number, in addition, apply to special firms for bindingor more advanced restoring work. Topicality, currency and the last volume are essentialcriteria of book preservation. There is an urgency to preserve local collections and valuableold materials as well.

Stålhammar, Elin January 2016 (has links)
In this paper, I discuss layer 23 from the 2015 excavation at the harbor in the black earth, Birka, through identification and conservation of a number of iron objects from this specific layer. These objects are in many cases broken and worn out, which indicates that they have been thrown away on purpose. Traces of bone and charcoal in the layer supports the idea that the harbor has been a place where people left their waste. Many of these excavated objects can be related to craftsmanship and/or the ships gear.

Legnér, Mattias January 2012 (has links)
This essay deals with heating installations put into medieval Gotland churches from the 1920s to the early 1950s. Focus is on the work of the restorer Erik Johan Fant (1889–1954) who was the most frequently engaged restorer of churches in Sweden from c. 1925 to 1950. His work has not been the subject of much academic research. The essay covers how Fant and authorities involved in the restorations perceived the aesthetical and practical issues of installing modern heating systems in medieval churches. It also places Fant’s work in the wider context of heating for comfort and conservation purposes in churches. Our knowledge of heating systems used in churches in the past is very limited: on what grounds was a certain system chosen, how was it designed, and what consequences did it have for the conservation of the church? From having been solely an issue of increased comfort and pleasing design, the development of heating technology increasingly involved the interests of conservation. In the first half of the 20th century, central or electric heating was introduced in many stone churches, but often without any analysis of the risks involved. Still in the 1920s, the typical Gotland church was heated with just one or two ovens. They were still not electrified. Two problems especially were connected to overheating before the 1950s: first the soiling of walls and vaults, and second the desiccation of organic materials, particularly painted wooden objects. Central heating, especially in the form of low pressure steam which was common before 1945, certainly made these damages worse. Despite these issues, almost all of the 2,700 churches in Sweden had some kind of heating installed by the mid-1950s, and the reason was that heating primarily was perceived by the Swedish Church as a matter of comfort. Shortly after the end of the period in question, damages caused by heating would attract more attention from the developing conservation field. / <p>Alternate Title: The church -- "a machine for sitting": the introduction of heating systems into medieval Gotland churches during the early 20th century. Röhsska Backstage : är publika arbetsmetoder nästa steg framåt? / Röhsska Backstage : are public work methods the museum's future?

Thompson, Joanna January 2011 (has links)
The Röhsska museum in Gothenburg has recently launched a new work method, Backstage, that is studied and paralleled to the museums permanent exhibition on Japanese design. In Backstage the museums routine work is executed in full view of the museums visitors in an exhibition area. The study has focused on the museums intentions and the visitors’ interpretations in Backstage and Japanese design, as well as the staff’s experience of the work method’s public aspects. The study’s empirical material has been collected through interviews with the museum staff as well as observations and interviews with visitors in both Backstage and Japanese design. The study’s objective has been to attain information that is useful to the museum and the future development of the project. The results indicate that the conservator acts as a medium in Backstage and was given precedence over both artifacts and text as the preferred way of gaining information. The public aspects of the work method did not have a pronounced influence on the museum staff, although some apprehensiveness was noticeable. A similar hesitation has been noticed in the visitors and was observed as a threshold to entering the exhibition area.
