Příčiny úrazů a smrti v ČR / The causes of injuries and deaths in the Czech Republic

VOSÁTKOVÁ, Kristýna January 2010 (has links)
The thesis is titled The causes of injuries and deaths in the Czech Republic. The main objective is to highlight the constantly high death rate caused by car accident injuries and by a hidden threat of heart and cardio-vascular diseases resulting in most people's deaths. The thesis contains two parts: theoretical and practical. The theory includes specific terminology such as health, health determiners and the lifestyle. The next chapter analyzes most frequented diseases in the Czech Republic such as heart and cardio-vascular diseases, tumors, respiratory and digestive tract diseases, death, the most frequented injuries in the Czech republic and suicides. The practical part describes the research findings and results. Two types of questionnaires were used for this purpose. The former one was handed to randomly chosen people who had suffered any injuries. The latter one was given to medical doctors in order to trace the death causes in the course of a year. The questionnaire data were transferred into graphs and charts. The graphs and charts as well as the discusssion outcomes are described in the final part of the thesis. The paragaphs of my thesis contain the bibliographical and website references. In the appendixes both questionnaires are inserted.

Souvislost vybraných osobnostních charakteristik a zdravotního stavu / The connection between chosen personal characteristics and health

Mikulová, Hana January 2016 (has links)
This work focuses on summarizing suspected and proven links between personality traits and health. First we recapitulate various theories linking personality traits and health - Type A personality, optimism, pessimism, five-factor model of personality, self-esteem, self-efficacy and more. Next we concentrate on the perception of this connection with doctors through interviews on the topic of "personality and health" in the empirical part. In the empirical part semi-structured interviews with doctors on the topic of "personality and health" were used to observe how doctors themselves percieve this connection. The aim is to find out where the doctors find that connection while working with their patients and how they use it in their medical practice. Keywords: personality, health, disease, medical practice

Nemoc a nemocní v poselstvích sv. Jana Pavla II. ke Světovým dnům nemocných / Sickness and sick people in the messages of saint John Paul II. for the Worlds days of the Sick

Voborská, Ludmila January 2017 (has links)
We will focus on the concept of suffering in the theology of John Paul II., especially his messages during the Days of the sick in this dissertation "Sickness and sick people in the messages of saint John Paul II. for the Worlds days of the Sick". Firstly we have to describe sickness in catholic theology to understand this topic better. We will continue further with the analysis of messages during the Days of the Sick under the pontificate of saint John Paul II. This in consideration of his other texts (especially the apostolic letter Salvifici doloris), John Paul's attitude towards the way sickness and the sick are viewed in different cultures, as well as his position on various kinds of suffering, will be streamlined and characterized in this work. We will also allow for the sickness in the life on John's Paul II. which particularly influenced his main view on sick people and we will also take into account his other writings.

Multidisciplinární přístup v komunitní péči o duševně nemocné / Multidisciplinary access in community care of mentally diseased

Kvapil, Michal January 2020 (has links)
The diploma is about the topic of multidisciplinarity in community care of people with mentally illness. I chose this topic because I meet clients who have lived for various periods of time knowing that they suffer of mental illness. Over time, I began deeply perceive how mental illnesses affect all areas of client's lives. In the modern sense of community-based psychiatric services, multidisciplinary cooperation should become a provider of more comprehensive, better quality and more effective services for people with mental illness who require health care, but also social care that facilitates inclusion in the society of people who suffer of mental illness. Multidisciplinary collaboration is an interdisciplinary collaboration in social and health services, illustrates different theories that use various terminologies. The collaboration of experts from different disciplines, in addition to the term multidisciplinary, can be referred also as interdisciplinary or intersectoral. Another reason for choosing the topic of the thesis is the increas of discussions and even practical steps within the Strategy of Psychiatric Reform in the Czech Republic. An integral part of the thesis is an introduction to mental health issues, it's history and current planned transformation, which is a priority within the...

LC-MS/MS studie 1. fáze in vitro biotransformace potenciálních léčiv působících v terapii Alzheimerovy nemoci. / LC-MS/MS study of phase one in vitro biotransformation of potential drugs against Alzheimer's disease

Kuřátková, Aneta January 2021 (has links)
No treatment that would completely stop the progression of Alzheimer's disease has not been found yet. Recently used tacrine showed good results in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, however long-term use led to chronic hepatotoxicity due to its metabolites. This master thesis deals with the compound 7-phenoxytacrine, one of the promising tacrine derivatives, which is one of the candidates for potential use in the therapy of Alzheimer's disease. Due to the formation of hepatotoxic metabolites of tacrine after the biotransformation in human liver, it appears necessary to identify the emerging metabolites of 7-phenoxytacrine molecule. Within this master's thesis in vitro biotransformation study of 7-phenoxytacrine using human liver microsomes was performed. High performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry was used to determine the parent substance and the seventeen 7-phenoxytacrine metabolites. The analytical method showed the formation of six monohydroxylated and eleven dehydroxylated metabolites of 7-phenoxytacrine. Thus, we concluded that hydroxylation is the major metabolic reaction after in vitro microsomal biotransformation. In addition to the identification of metabolites, a quantification and microsomal stability study, including the determination of the amount of...

Role akumulace železa a dalších kovů v patofyziologii neurodegenerativních onemocnění / The role of accumulation of iron and other metals in the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases

Mašková, Jana January 2020 (has links)
The role of metal accumulation in the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases has been a hot topic in recent years due to the possibility of its treatment by chelating agents. Although the mechanisms of neurodegeneration are well known, the role of metal accumulation is still unclear. The main limitation are unsatisfactory methods for in vivo metal imaging; the most widely used technique is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Our aim was to assess the possibility of using transcranial sonography (TCS) in differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and to further explore the underlying factors of echogenicity. In the first study, using TCS fusion with MRI, we focused on location verification of the commonly assessed structures (substantia nigra and nucleus lentiformis) and exclusion of possible focal structural changes affecting the echogenicity in WD and PD patients. Moreover, obtained MRI were used for semi-quantitative comparison with TCS images. Although TCS has been confirmed to be highly beneficial in differential diagnosis of Wilson's disease and it should be recommended as a screening method for extrapyramidal patients with atypical course of the disease, the direct relationship between TCS and metal deposits could not be proven. The obtained results from the ultrasound fusion...

Deprese u chronicky nemocných / Chronic Patients' Depression

Pečinková, Jana January 2011 (has links)
This thesis "Chronic Patients' Depression" looks into Alzheimer's disease patients' depression. Theoretical part focuses on topics of old age, dementia syndrome, Alzheimer's disease and depression. These topics are described also in their associations. Current researches in the field of study are mentioned too. Practical part deals with presence of depression in Alzheimer's persons. Hypothesis that depression is more frequent in early stage of dementia is tested. In the research there is used standardised method - Yesevage's Geriatric Depression Scale. Other methods which can bring new information is also used (Geriatric Depression Scale filled in by caring persons and structured observation). The outcome is 9,7% Alzheimer's patients suffer from depression. More persons with depression we can find in a group of Alzheimer's early stage however difference between group of early and advanced stage is not significant. This study occupies with assets of other methods for diagnostic of depression.
