Teorie tvorby paměťové vazby a její užitečnost v časné diagnostice Alzheimerovy nemoci / The theory of memory binding and its usefulness in early diagnosis of Alzheimer's diseaseKrejčová, Svatava January 2021 (has links)
The thesis focuses on memory binding from the perspective of cognitive psychology, neuropsychology and presents structural correlates of memory. It reflects current research and concepts such as Subjective Cognitive Disorder (SCD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and advocates previously created units for the continuum of Alzheimer's disease. The aim of the work is to verify the functionality of the Czech version of the Buschke Memory binding test for clinical practice. In the Empirical section it focuses on the MBT memory binding capability test and performance comparison in three groups of the sample population (without cognitive deficit, SCD and MCI). Statistical testing (ANCOVA) found a significant difference in performance in selected scores between the three groups. The results showed that memory binding performance is impaired as the deficit depth progresses. In our sample, no significant performance difference could be found between the cognitively normal group and the SCD group. The references are cited accoding to APA 7th edition manual. Key words Alzheimer's disease, neuropsychology, cognition, memory binding

Exprese cholinergního genového místa u myšího modelu Alzheimerovy nemoci / Expression of cholinergic gene locus in a mouse model of Alzheimer's diseaseZimčík, Pavel January 2010 (has links)
(anglický jazyk) The most common senile dementia, Alzheimer disease (AD), is characterized by a decline of memory and high cognitive functions. Typical post-mortem brain lesions are extracellular amyloid deposits, intracellular neurofibrilary tangles and ruined cholinergic and other neurotransmitters systems. Connection between damaged central cholinergic system and beta-amyloid accumulation remains obscure. We examined parietal cortex of young adult (7- month-old) female APPswe/PS1dE9 double transgenic mice which develope beta-amyloid fragments at high rate. Cholinergic synapses of these mice demonstrate functional presynaptic (stimulated acetylcholine release) as well as postsynaptic (muscarinic receptor-induced G- protein activation) deficits and reduction of cholinergic markers. The mRNA levels of choline acetyltransferase, vesicular acetylcholine transporter and M1 to M4 subtypes of muscarinic receptors were determined in transgenic and littermate controls using qPCR. Obtained experimental data does not show any changes in measured mRNA levels. These observations indicate that reduction of cholinergic synaptic markers and function is due to posttranscriptional events.

Spiritualita a duševní nemoc: Role spirituality v životě lidí se zkušeností s psychotickým onemocněním / Spirituality and Mental Disorder: The Role of Spirituality in the Lives of People with Experience of PsychosisMotl, Jiří January 2016 (has links)
D I S E R T A Č N Í P R Á C E Autor: Mgr. Jiří Motl Spiritualita a duševní nemoc Role spirituality v životě lidí se zkušeností s psychotickým onemocněním Spirituality and Mental Disorder: The Role of Spirituality in the Lives of People with Experience of Psychosis Abstract The dissertation investigates the relationship of mental illness and religion. It focuses on the role of spirituality in people with experience of psychosis. In the theoretical part, the problem of drawing the line between pathological and normal spirituality is discussed, stressing the importance of a functional point of view and the need for a dialogic relationship with the ill person. The theoretical part goes on with mapping the potential of spirituality in the recovery process. Spirituality often helps the afflicted to perceive their illness as a meaningful process, making it easier to cope with the illness. At the end of the theoretical part, four alternative or complementary conceptual frameworks are presented. The empirical part consists of a qualitative research of nine subjects (believers with the experience of psychosis). The data collection and analysis is based mainly in the IPA method (interpretative phenomenological analysis). The research aims to map how mental illness affected the subjects' spirituality and vice versa....

Souvislost mezi vzděláním a duševním onemocněním v české populaci / Association of education with mental illness in Czech populationKuklová, Marie January 2020 (has links)
Association of education with mental illness in Czech population Abstract This master thesis aimed to study the association of education with mental disorders in the Czech population. Data were used from a nationally representative cross-sectional study - the CZEch Mental health Study (CZEMS). Mental disorders were assessed with Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview and divided into four groups - affective, anxiety, substance use and alcohol use. Information about the highest completed education was self-reported by participants during an interview. Binary logistic regresion examined the association of education with mental disorders, group-wise adjusting for sociodemographic, social and health-related characteristics. The analysis was conducted on 3 175 participants (54 % women, median age 49 years). Lower education (primary and vocational) was associated with higher occurrence of mental disorders, this association remained after adjustment for all characteristics. The association was strongest for alcohol use disorders and weakest for anxiety disorders and did not differ by sex. The relationship between education and alcohol use as well as substance use disorders was apparent in particular in younger individuals. The observed educational differences in the occurrence of mental disorders should be...

Žitá epilepsie: management nemoci a vtělené vědění / Lived epilepsy: management of disease and embodied knowledgeSedláčková, Tereza January 2018 (has links)
The thesis deals with the lived everyday practice of patients with epileptic seizures and the types of knowledge they are working with in relation to seizures. Particular attention is paid to patients' embodied knowledge as the practical knowledge based on the experience of epileptic seizures and their bodies in general. The thesis shows how the types of knowledge (such as triggers, auras, forms of seizures or their management) are based on, created and learnt through the embodiment. Lifestyle regimens associated with seizure management are introduced as a link between general recommendations and individual regimens, with seizure management being negotiated with regard to other aspects of patient life. While adhering to management, there is some communication, cooperation and negotiation between the patient and his body. Finally, other forms of knowledge about seizures are outlined, such as those created by people close to the patient and those created by assistance dogs. (Furthermore), it is also explained what these forms of knowledge mean to the patient and how to work with them.

Francouzská nemoc v konsiliární literatuře v 16. století / The French Pox in the 16th Century Medical ConsiliaDivišová, Bohdana January 2016 (has links)
Summary: Consilia played an important role in medieval but also early modern professional health literature. Literary "consilium" contained a written statement of one particular case, the patient's condition and disease as well as advice on a medical procedure where a doctor in accordance with the contemporary discourse analyzed symptoms, determined the diagnosis, prognosis and recommended its pharmacological treatment including possible technical interventions (venesection etc.). In the 16th century, the Consilia Literature was a common part of many eminent physicians' practice whereas nowadays it is unjustly neglected source of history of medicine, pharmacology, dietetics and so on. The first part of the dissertation is devoted to the definition of genre, the initial stages of its development and description of the specifics of the Middle Ages. However the results of fifteen eminent physicians of Italy (B. Vettori, G. B. Da Monte, V. Trincavelli, A. M. Venusti, G. Capodivaccio, C. Guarinoni), France (J. Fernel, G. de Baillou) and of the German-speaking areas of Central Europe (J. Crato, R. Solenander, L. Scholz, D. Cornarius, J. Wittich, T. Mermann, J. Matthaeus), became the main theme of work of early modern consultative collections. On examination of nearly seven thousand consilia from twenty two...

Poruchy chůze u extrapyramidových onemocnění. / Gait impairment in movement disorders.Poláková, Kamila January 2021 (has links)
Summary: Movement disorders are caused by impairment of the basal ganglia and extrapyramidal connections. The most common is Parkinson's disease (PD), characterised by hypokinesia together with resting tremor and / or rigidity, which may be influenced by dopaminergic therapy or invasive methods, including deep brain stimulation (DBS). Gait and balance disorders are part of the Parkinson's syndrome, progress during the disease course and limit daily activities, quality of life, may lead to falls and contribute to higher mortality of the patients in the late stages. Therapy is difficult. Gait disorders and parkinsonism may occur also in other diseases, including intoxications which may also lead to basal ganglia impairment. The theoretical part include the physiology of gait, gait disorders and examination. The section devoted to movement disorders focuses on Parkinson's disease and methanol intoxication. The practical part consists of 3 studies evaluating gait disorder in patients with advanced PD and possibilities of the treatment, the 4th study documents gait disorder in survivors after mass methanol poisoning with outbreak between 2012 and 2014 in the Czech Republic. The result confirm the effect of DBS in step length prolongation and gait speed increment in patients with PD. Compensation strategies using...
