CPDOC2008ErikaConceicaoGelenskeCunha.pdf: 979441 bytes, checksum: d063ad857c0c92e88a7b2538029654ca (MD5) / The World Tourism Organization - WTO (2003) asserts that a new stage on tourism is arising. On a post-modern world, the touristic movement more and more searched for the 'different', the 'other', thus, stimulating a motivation for the 'tourism based on the cultural legacy' (BARRETTO, 2000). Along with this, the Ministry of Tourism has created in 2006, a typology of tourism, based on the motivations for the travelling accomplishment, or in the market segmentation. This project, which intends to 'organize the tourism for planning, management and market ends' separates the tourism in five priority segments, among them is the cultural segment. Thus, the current essay tries to accomplish some reflections on the cultural tourism in the city of Rio de Janeiro, city which has a main role in the Brazilian history of political and cultural life. In this regard, first a survey of the several concepts which imbricate themselves with the cultural tourism has been made: culture, cultural heritage, memory, authenticity, identities and consumption. On a second stage, by means of a field research, the touristic supply was delineated, and it was analyzed how the cultural tourism is currently explored by the main local telephonic operator companies. Also, a focus on a group of graduates in this field was created, in order to debate the theme in a critical and dialectical manner. This material analysis allowed a gathering of the cultural tourism habits in the 'Cidade Maravilhosa' ('Wonderful City'), creating reflections on the efficient development of the touristic activity in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Since some decades ago, Perú enter to the arena of world tourism and the major interest isin Cusco and its surroundings with multiple testimonies of the Incas and previous cultures. Maras is a town funded in colonial times along the trail from Cusco to Urubamba. Nowadays the population work in agriculture, livestock, and salt extraction to sell in the region. Maras is also the start point to visit the Moray and Salinas andenes and it is calculated that through this town pass some 200 tourists daily. People are aware that they could offer the tourists some extra services and have additional income to better their living conditions. In 2002, the National Institute of Culture (INC) with the Maras Project put into value some monuments and orga- nized the Handicraft Center and later with the project Mejorando mi Pueblo of the Ministry of Housing some streets were paved. Most of tourists passing by Maras practice «tourism of adventure», they arrive on foot, in bicycle or on horse and it would be worth to offer them lodging services, food, and invite them to visit the town rich in history and patrimony. In this context, a group of professors and students of the SPGSE-FAUA of the National University of Engineering, in the framework of the International Workshop «Diseñando y Construyendo Procesos Participativos» realized in September of this year the awareness workshop at Maras«Construyendo juntos las perspectivas de auto desarrollo de Maras», where the people designed the touristic circuit of the town and has priory projects to the development of public spaces and training in touristic services, in order to be ready to work in this activity without abandonment of their agricultural activities. The purpose of this paper is to describe the development of Maras and their expectancesand possibilities to get involved in the touristic activity in the region.

This doctoral thesis studies different aspects on the housings in the province of Girona, combining the historical evolution of them, the phenomenon of the second residences and the market of the tourist apartments. The role of population is the main motive of the growth of the housings during the XXth century in the zone. Nonetheless, during the second half, the weight of the secondary housings in tourist zones like the Costa Brava and mountain towns have had their significant role as well. Other determinant factors in the last years have been the immigration and the decrease of the home's size. The second residences in Girona are located for the most part in the Costa Brava (about 75 % of whole to the province). A phenomenon of expansion is observed with a "spot of oil" effect from the Costa Brava towards the interior and from the Cerdanya (specialized mountain tourism zone) towards more oriental zones. Inside the market of tourist apartments, hedonic regressions have shown the variables that have more influence to the final price of the rent of the tourist housing: number of rooms, type of housing, distance the beach, municipality and season. Another exercise for hotels (as a substitute good) shows the same importance of variables to the final price excepting in the swimming pool (less valued) and the parking (more valued)
