The Federal Institutes of Education, Science, and Technology have valuable wealth centered on the intellectual capital of their academic community, which are made explicit through their intellectual productions. These productions, in turn, need to be available to society; for that, an alternative is the institutional repositories. Therefore, the problem of this study refers to the search for answers to the following question: what operating guidelines can guide the development of an institutional repository (IR) in the IFSP? In order to do so, it also aims to identify which operating guidelines can be adopted in the creation of an IR for the IFSP. Also, specifically: a) present how the process of implementing the guidelines for the operation of IRs in universities occurred; b) to relate guidelines and practices (observed from the operating guidelines of the IRs surveyed) to the way the scientific literature is produced in the IFSP; c) present the perceptions of IR managers about the need for participation of the Integrated Library System (SIBI) in the planning phase for the creation of IR; d) identify and present the perceptions of IR managers in federal universities regarding the role of SIBI. The methodology adopted, from the point of view of its nature, is descriptive, since its purpose is to describe the phenomena related to the object of study that deals with the guidelines for the operation of IRs of Brazilian federal universities, having a quantitative and qualitative character. The research has as a universe the Brazilian federal public universities, whose purpose is to verify the operating guidelines of its IRs, when they have it. For the development of this study, data collection was carried out through a bibliographical research about the main themes that involve its object of study, as well as of themes that are directly related to it. The documentary sought the operating guidelines published in IRs of the following universities: Federal University of Paraná (UFPR); Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). After the bibliographic and documentary research, two other interrogation techniques were used. The first was the questionnaire, built in electronic form and sent to 38 federal universities. The second one was the technique of interviews, which are configured as a central resource with regard to the field dimension of this work. Among the results, it can be highlighted that, for the implementation of an institutional repository, it is necessary to create Integrated Library Systems in Institutions that do not yet have them; that the existing guidelines of functioning of federal universities can be used as models for the Federal Institutes, even though both may have disparate forms of communication and production of science. In general, the research points out the processes through which the universities participating in the research have gone through the implementation of their repositories, through cost indications, composition of work teams, forms of deposit, among others.

Behavioral service substitution

Parnjai, Jarungjit 22 April 2013 (has links)
Service evolution allows one service to be refined into or substituted by another service. Substituting one service by another service should guarantee to preserve all or selected partners of the original service. In this thesis, we develop an approach that shall assist a service designer, such as a domain expert, to perform analysis and synthesis tasks on service substitution. We model a control flow of services that describes the ordering of asynchronously communicating events over an implicit unordered message buffer. We study the behavioral aspect of correct interaction between services and concentrate on two variants of deadlock freedom as correctness criteria of service substitution. The major contribution of this thesis is an approach for characterizing the set of all substitutes for a given service. We systematically investigate the relationship between a service and all its partners under a given correctness criterion and employ this relationship to synthesize from a given service its canonical partner and its canonical substitute with respect to all partners. A service that refines the canonical substitute for a given service is regarded as a substitute for the given service if the set of all its partners includes every partner of the given service. With the canonical substitute of a given service, we identify a specific subset of the set of all substitutes for the given service, each of which has exactly the same set of partners as that of the given service. Parts of the results in this thesis have been established upon previous works on service substitution and correctness of services. Consequently, we can also combine our results with the related existing techniques to perform more sophisticated analysis and synthesis tasks on service substitution.
