Theme of this thesis is practical realization of so-called Island model which is one of way of parallel genetic programming. First part is theoretical. This part is describing terms of genetic programming, age-layered population structure and island model. In second part of thesis is described realization of island model in Java language.

An Analysis of the Legal Protection of the Disappearing Island States Population Rising ocean levels, which occur as a result of global warming, currently pose a threat to low-lying island states. The so-called "disappearing island states". This thesis deals with the legal protection of the disappearing island states population. The main objective is to provide a basic overview of protective instruments for this scenario, and assess their potential application. This text is divided into three parts. The first chapter deals with the concept of disappearing island nations, the reasons behind their disappearance and some of the consequences. Of particular importance is the subchapter, discussing the dissolution of the state in general. Even though in theory a state's dissolution due to climate change effects is viable, in practice this event has never occurred before. Therefore, international law does not offer a clear answer to the legal personality of the state that has been affected by climate change-induced sea level rise. This question needs to be answered in order to define the status of the population, and to define the tools that can be used to ensure its protection. The work deals with heterogeneous island models. The work designs and implements a new island model based on knowledge of homogeneous models of evolutionary algorithms. The model allows dynamic replanning of general computational methods. The work experimentally compares results of homogeneous and heterogeneous models.

This work deals with a creation of model of synchronous generator in programmes such as Simplorer and Maxwell, and also its operation in an insular operation. In the paper are described Maxwells equations for solving electromagnetic field, theory of synchronous machine, further are briefly described a simulation programmes which were used. In the next part of work is described production of geometric model of generator and its later electromagnetic analysis in the Maxwell programmes environment. For a simulation of generators operation in insular operation were chosen 2 cases. The first case simulates an operation of generator at the step change of residence of R-L load, the second simulation an automatic regulation of voltage at the step change of residence of R-L load. The simulations were running in the Simplorer programme and at link simulation Maxwell Simplorer programmes.

This Master´s thesis deals with problematics of wind powered generators and their use in off-grid systems. In its first chapters aspects of wind as a power source are analyzed. Further on the thesis focuses on individual components of the off-grid systems. Also designing procedures of these systems are presented in the paper. The key parts of the thesis are 3 off-grid wind power system designs, which can be used to power a family house, and their energetical and economical evaluation.

This diploma thesis presents managing of the island mode using distributed generation. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the power system of the Czech Republic is described, together with its future development, and future development of installed capacity of distributed generation. Types of distributed generation are also mentioned. Next part of this work is focused on technological parts of islanding operation and its requirements. The following part describes components of the smart grids and mentions some of its functionalities. The practical part of the thesis describes the created models of components in PSCAD programme. From those components two slightly different grid models are created. On those grid models, simulations are made, during which island mode is created. Some of the grid functionalities are tested during those simulations, for example; reaction of the island mode for load increase, load decrease and others.

The title of the diploma thesis is: Multimedia educational programme for teaching of regional geography of America (Caribbean island states) at secondary school". It consists of two parts. The first one consists of an analysis of literature and materials that relates to the topic of the diploma thesis (geography textbook, non-fiction literature and magazines). The second part contains a proposal of multimedia educational material about Caribbean island states for secondary schools. It includes not only an interactive textbook but also a methodical guide with annotations for (to) particular slides and solutions of (to) tasks from the textbook. Everything is created according to Framework educative programme for basic education.

This thesis aim to theoretically and empirically cover the theme of self-sufficient way of living in full spectrum from local economy supporting associations to clear pictures of live of the people who are trying to live self-sufficient. The work deals with many forms of self-sufficiency: energetic self-support, home schooling and sharing. In theoretical part of the work author specifies research questions whose are used for expanding and verifying conclusions or data from another researches. In the empirical part author analyse data collected during an ethnographic research (participant observation and semi-structured interviews in three households.

This masters thesis deals with the use of off-grid photovoltaic systems. First we explain the problems associated with the power and energy potential of photovoltaic system components, design of photovoltaic systems for autonomous operation and the financial evaluation. The result of the masters thesis is to create an application used to design the island system in the whole output range (the smallest power systems to house systems application). The conclusion of the masters thesis is devoted to designing three type of projects from our application – a garden cottage, a family cottage and the house.

This work deals with the issue of supply restoring for heating plant Teplárny Brno, a. s. Špitálka division, after a system-wide failure of the “blackout”. The thesis solves the “black start” of the Špitálka Teplárny Brno operation by delivering a voltage from the hydroelectric power Vír I, proposes a methodology for commissioning of individual devices, up to phasing the generators with subsequent possibility of creating an “island mode” in the area of Brno city, which the work already does not deal with. The work also deals with the preparation of the operational test, while starts of the selected devices are tested. The schedule of commissioning of each device is supported by calculations of the parameters for the entire system with regard to voltage drops while connecting the high load. The result of this work is the proposal of methodological process of supply restoring for power plant Teplárny Brno – Špitálka division, by submission a voltage from the hydroelectric power Vír I, which can be used both in any system-wide failure of the “blackout”, or during the operational test.
