1 UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE FAKULTA HUMANITNÍCH STUDIÍ Katedra genderových studií IVANA TAŠEVSKÁ Porovnání situace matek a otců pečujících o děti formou střídavé péče v České republice Diplomová práce Vedoucí práce: Ing. Petr Pavlík, Ph.D. PRAHA 2011 2 ABSTRACT Split-up of family is not a gender-neutral phenomenon. In most cases, children are confided to the care of mother after the split-up. The family law recognizes also other forms of care, but both joint-custody parenting is rarely used in the Czech Republic. However, there is a tendency to change the state affairs in recent years. Supporters and opponents of joint custody voice their arguments in the public sphere, but relatively little attention has been paid so far to those who are supposed practice joint custody parenting, the parents. That is why, the focus of my research has been a comparison of experience of mothers and fathers practicing joint custody of their children in the Czech Republic. Concretely, I wanted to study whether, similarly with foreign studies, the mothers and the fathers experience joint custody differently. For example, whether the fathers have received a bigger support from their family and friends than have the mothers and whether the fathers experience less financial stress than the mothers. My research is explorative...

Šáchová, Klára January 2016 (has links)
This thesis elaborates on the issue of informal care. By this term is meant a situation when a person who is dependent on somebody else's care receives this care from someone close, most often a family member of the dependent person. This type of care has been existing for a very long time but lately it has became a more frequently discussed topic and got higher attention in general. This thesis is focused on the process of increasing interest in the informal care by the public policy process towards informal care and caregivers. The main effort is put into identification of the most important events in history, actors and their mutual modes of interactions which are happening during the whole process as the rationale behind the basic line of evolution of position of the informal care and caregivers in the system of long term care. The thesis concludes that the reason for escalation of the interest in the informal care is an outcome of concurrent effort of few key actors who use different strategies for reaching their goals. On one hand, there are the European Union and the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs as the most important actors whose significant position in the whole policy creation process is given by the institutional setting. On the other hand, there are the caregivers who very...

Duchovní péče v nemocnicích. Dosavadní praxe, zkušenosti a očekávání na příkladu vybraných pražských nemocnic / The Hospital Spiritual Care. Existing Practice, Experience and Expectations Illustrated by Examples of Chosen Prague Hospitals

Plačková, Marie January 2013 (has links)
The main goal of this diploma thesis is to reflect the hospital spiritual care in Czech Republic nowadays and to compare it with its beginnings. The theoretical part maintains holistic approach to human being and emphasizes spiritual needs as a basis for hospital spiritual care. It also gives an overview of recent forms of hospital spiritual care in Czech Republic. The research part examines the patients' opinions and experience of spiritual care during their stay in hospitals. Questionnaire-based survey was done in seven Prague hospitals with 237 patients (96 of them used the chaplain service, 141 did not). The short interviews with Prague chaplains and patients regarding spiritual care complete the work. Research findings result in non-answered (and maybe non-answerable) questions: Can hospital chaplains quit their church membership and affiliation and not to serve to the church evangelization Mission? Is it possible to be "a spiritual, but non religious" chaplain and not to lose the chaplain identity? Is it - in general - possible to distinguish "spirituality" from "religiosity"?

Praha a chudí: chudinská péče v Praze v letech 1864-1929 / Prague and the poor: social services for the poor in Prague in the years 1864-1929

Janovská, Veronika January 2014 (has links)
The care for the poor, or poor care, has meant an important help for the needy ones at the times of hardship. As per the laws, it was their home village that was supposed to have taken care of them, which has brought several problems. The main law for the poor care was the December 1868 Bill aimed specifically at the poor care. It was this act that had transferred the care for the poor from the state to the individual villages' and towns' hands. This Diploma Thesis is aimed at the Prague's poor care and its development within the time period of 1864 till 1929. It was during this period of time that the traditional poor care was transforming into the social work. As such, it was then understood to be not only the results-providing care, but rather the tool for preventive measures. Its competencies have since then included the new questions raised. Its providers did no longer wish to only hand out the social payments, but to also educate and increase the life conditions of the cared for persons. In 1929, the Prague Social Institution - so called Masaryk's Houses - was brought to action, and had fulfilled all of these parameters. Throughout the followed period it was the Main Directorate that had been in the lead of the Prague's poor care. The Directorate having the responsibility to assure the...
