Reflecting poolsPayavis, Daniel David 08 August 2011 (has links)
This report sketches a series of considerations that operate within my art practice. They are intended to elaborate on and open up, rather than simplify, the processes by which I arrive at art works. The ideas discussed roughly fit into, or are products of, three efforts which run parallel and independent of one another: my studio practice and production of art works; the study of artistic practice in a general sense, not always dependent on my particular art practice; and the study of a broad range of image types. The serial arrangement of the sections is meant to convey the non-hierarchical relationships of the ideas. Selected art works I have produced are explicated as they relate to the ideas; some art works appear in more than one section. / text

Whose houseEastwood, Scott Robert 08 August 2011 (has links)
This report outlines the overriding themes, concepts, processes, and influences in my work over the last three years. Although my work has progressed much during that time, I still have a fundamental interest in using a reactive and intuitive process to elicit ideas. This process undermines legibility through layering and then imposes a frame to contain each piece to let specific images emerge. Much of my work relates to the human form either formally or through its uncanny relation to the viewers own body.
Through these methods I make images and objects that project my personal psychological cycle of fascination, repression, terror and humor. / text
