Modely Lobačevského geometrie a možnosti jejich využití na střední škole / Models of Lobachevskij's geometry and possibilities of their use at secondary school

Kosina, Jan January 2017 (has links)
This thesis Models of Lobachevskij's geometry and the possibilities of their use at secondary school focuses on one kind of non-Euclidean geometries, the Bolyai - Lobachevskij's geometry. The first chapter describes the history of non-Euclidean geometry, shows difficulties of understanding of one publication dedicated to these problems by current students of secondary schools and shows some chosen methods in the didactics of mathematics, especialy the constructivist method. The second chapter is dedicated to elemental concepts of projective geometry, Bolyai - Lobachevskij's geometry and it shows its basic models. It further analyses the specific features of this kind of geometry in Beltrami - Klein's model, especially mutual positions of straight lines. This theses further contains a set of gradual tasks. The third chapter is dedicated to the description of a didactical experiment. In this experiment were students of secondary school acquainted with this theory and tasks, which they solved. Student's solution were writen down and than analysed in the constructivist methodology term in the didactics of mathematics.

Analogie medzi Indickým a Europským autorským filmom 1960 - 1980 / ANALOGIES BETWEEN INDIAN AND EUROPEAN AUTHOR´S CINEMA OF THE PERIOD 1960 - 1980

Rampal Dzurenko, Viktória January 2013 (has links)
Indian Parallel Cinema is the mixture of Contemporary, Experimental and Art Cinema of India and always consist of low budget. Indian Cinema had started with its first silent film "Raja Harishchandra" in 1912. Indian cinema is often defined as Bollywood or Masala Films of India, since it is also the popular form with its ritual of song, dances and over-the-top melodrama. However, the 60s and early 70s were time of experimentation in the format of storytelling and form in Indian Cinema. Indian Parallel Cinema is a specific genre of Indian cinema which is known for its serious content, realism and naturalism, which reflected social and politics topics during those times. Indian parallel cinema represents a change of direction or a break with the traditional Indian cinema.

Dynamic optimization of data-flow task-parallel applications for large-scale NUMA systems / Optimisation dynamique des applications à base de tâches data-flow pour des machines NUMA

Drebes, Andi 25 June 2015 (has links)
Within the last decade, microprocessor development reached a point at which higher clock rates and more complex micro-architectures became less energy-efficient, such that power consumption and energy density were pushed beyond reasonable limits. As a consequence, the industry has shifted to more energy efficient multi-core designs, integrating multiple processing units (cores) on a single chip. The number of cores is expected to grow exponentially and future systems are expected to integrate thousands of processing units. In order to provide sufficient memory bandwidth in these systems, main memory is physically distributed over multiple memory controllers with non-uniform access to memory (NUMA). Past research has identified programming models based on fine-grained, dependent tasks as a key technique to unleash the parallel processing power of massively parallel general-purpose computing architectures. However, the execution of task-paralel programs on architectures with non-uniform memory access and the dynamic optimizations to mitigate NUMA effects have received only little interest. In this thesis, we explore the main factors on performance and data locality of task-parallel programs and propose a set of transparent, portable and fully automatic on-line mapping mechanisms for tasks to cores and data to memory controllers in order to improve data locality and performance. Placement decisions are based on information about point-to-point data dependences, readily available in the run-time systems of modern task-parallel programming frameworks. The experimental evaluation of these techniques is conducted on our implementation in the run-time of the OpenStream language and a set of high-performance scientific benchmarks. Finally, we designed and implemented Aftermath, a tool for performance analysis and debugging of task-parallel applications and run-times.

[en] IMMUNIZATION OF FIXED INCOME PORTFOLIOS / [pt] IMUNIZAÇÃO DE CARTEIRAS DE RENDA FIXA

MARCELO WEISKOPF 22 December 2003 (has links)
[en] Asset Liability Management (ALM) is an important tool used in the administration of banks, insurance companies and pension funds, especially for monitoring and controlling the risk those institutions usually face. Among the various types of risk, the interest rate risk is one of the main sources of potential loss for a financial institution. This dissertation aims to study ways of controlling this type of risk. Thus, we will thoroughly study the strategy used for Asset Liability Management. This strategy consists in assembling an optimum portfolio in a way that it becomes unaffected by changes in the interest rates. A couple of immunization models for fixed rate portfolios are studied in detail. One of them employs the method of principal component analysis (PCA), immunizing the portfolio in the direction of those components. The other model minimizes the stochastic risk. In both of them, we present an example and use of the method in a Brazilian pension fund (this strategy is highly interesting to pension funds since they work with a long liability cash flow and want to certify their obligations will always be satisfied). Finally, we analyse the results obtained with the two methods.

Parallel Active Filter Design, Control, And Implementation

Ozkaya, Hasan 01 June 2007 (has links) (PDF)
The parallel active filter (PAF) is the modern solution for harmonic current mitigation and reactive power compensation of nonlinear loads. This thesis is dedicated to detailed analysis, design, control, and implementation of a PAF for a 3- phase 3-wire rectifier load. Specifically, the current regulator and switching ripple filter (SRF) are thoroughly investigated. A novel discrete time hysteresis current regulator with multi-rate current sampling and flexible PWM output, DHCR3, is proposed. DHCR3 exhibits a high bandwidth while limiting the maximum switching frequency for thermal stability and its implementation is simple. In addition to the development of DHCR3, in the thesis state of the art current regulation methods are considered and thoroughly compared with DHCR3. Since the current regulator type determines the SRF topology choice, various SRF topologies are considered and a thorough design study is conducted and SRF topology selection and parameter determination methods are presented via numerical examples. Through a PAF designed for a 10kW diode/thyristor rectifier load, the superior performance of DHCR3 is verified through simulations and experiments and via comparison to other current regulators. The sufficient switching ripple attenuation of the SRF structures for the designed PAF system and the overall performance of the designed and built PAF system are demonstrated via detailed computer simulations and laboratory experiments. This thesis aids the PAF current regulator and SRF selection, design, and implementation.

Slovotvorba v německo-českém slovníku / Word Formation in German-Czech Dictionary

Šemelík, Martin January 2014 (has links)
The present thesis is based on my experience as one of the contributors to The Large Academic Dictionary German-Czech. It attempts to discuss the role of word formation in German-Czech dictionaries in that it focuses on presentation of word formation in outer texts, macrostructural ordering procedures, treatment of word forming elements, special word formation parts of dictionary entries and possibilities of typography as a means word formation description in a bilingual dictionary. The approach taken is both contemplative and transformative. The thesis rests on the study of existing German-Czech dictionaries published mostly after 1945, partly between 1802 and 1945 as well. Concrete function-based proposals centred on the supposed target users of the LADGC are discussed here. A considerable part of the thesis deals with German derived nouns in Ge-...(-e) seen from a corpus linguistic view.
