Luiz Edno Pereira 15 May 2000 (has links)
In the present work, the fretting and plain fatigue properties of plasma nitrided martensitic stainless steel, DIN 1.4112 (DIN X 90 Cr Mo V 18), used in piston rings, were investigated. Both fretting and plain fatigue specimens were treated at 500°C for 5 h. The fretting pads were made of gray cast iron. Both fretting and plain fatigue tests were carried out under a load-controlled condition under stress rate, R=0.1 and frequency of 30 Hz. The S-N curves generated with and without fretting showed the strength reduction factor SRF=1.62 when fretting was applied. In the fretting fatigue, frictional force increased with axial cyclic stress and reached a minimum value of 28 N and maximum value of 60 N. Microhardness measurements have shown that the nitrided case presented a maximum hardness of 1288 HV100 and thickness of 91 &#956m. X-ray diffraction techniques indicated that the compound layer consists of &#949 (Fe2-3N) and &#947\' (Fe4N) phases. Fractographic observations showed superficial cracking in tensile specimens due to the low toughness of the nitrided case and fatigue crack growth below this layer in plain fatigue specimens. Fretting fatigue tests produced accumulation of debris and the formation of secondary cracks at the contact area.

Bezventilové plunžrové čerpadlo / Valveless Plunger Pump

Machů, Tomáš January 2021 (has links)
This thesis deals with valveless reciprocating pumps. Within the thesis several designs of pump geometry are demonstrated. Their parameters were obtained using computational fluid dynamics. Reciprocating piston movement was simulated by time dependent inlet boundary condition or by dynamic mesh. The individual variants were compared mainly from point of view of volumetric efficiency, which was the main evaluated parameter. Results of calculations are presented as dependencies of volumetric efficiency on frequency and amplitude of piston motion and on value of backpressure. Two variants of the prototype pump geometry were manufactured to experimentally validate parameters obtained from calculations. Volumetric efficiency together with hydraulic efficiency were evaluated from measured data.

Píst zážehového motoru vyráběný aditivní technologií / Piston of a spark-ignition engine produced by additive manufacturing

Valtrová, Martina January 2021 (has links)
The first objective of this thesis was compiling research about currently produced pistons for internal combustion engines and about additive manufacturing and based on the acquired information deciding which type of piston makes the most of the advantages. Following this research, the next step was creating a design adjustment of a piston, which was previously designed with the conventional methods of manufacturing in mind, in a way that would make the best use of the different possibilities of additive manufacturing. There was also an optimisation carried out, which depicted the densities of material elements in the piston, showing where the material was less important. There were three variants of the additive manufactured piston created, ranging from a relatively conservative design, which could be theoretically produced by conventional methods with a more substantial subtraction of material added, to a design which could only be produced via additive manufacturing. A thermo-structural analysis at maximum engine load was carried out for all these piston models. Based on these data, a conclusion was made, whether the use of additive manufacturing was justified over the use of the conventional subtractive methods.

Parní turbína pro spalovnu odpadů / Steam Turbine for the Waste to Energy

Janata, Petr January 2020 (has links)
The master thesis deals with the design of a condensing steam turbine for a waste incineration plant with regulated take for a heat exchanger, which has a heat output of 15 MWt and a temperature gradient of 60/90 °C. In the thesis, a thermal scheme was first designed, which was based on the required design parameters. The maximum mass flow of steam into the turbine is 38 t/h. The pressure and temperature of the admission steam is 37 bar and 440 °C. The degassing temperature is 105 °C and the cooling water temperature at the condenser inlet is 20 °C. The following is the design and thermodynamic calculation of the turbine flow channels. The first stage of the turbine is designed as a regulatory with equal pressure blades. The rest part of the turbine is designed with overpressure blades and is divided into 6 cones, in which there are a total of 27 stages. The strength inspection of the designed blade profiles was performed. A compensating piston and a gland system were designed. Finally, bearings for the rotor were designed and then the operating diagram of the turbine was constructed. The work is supplemented by a structural drawing of the longitudinal section of the turbine.
