61	Tungo za Mzee Kimbunga: Haji Gora Haji Samsom, Ridder H. 30 November 2012 (has links) Haji Gora Haji (1933) is a Swahili poet from Tumbatu. Some people in Zanzibar call him `The Old Hurricane´ after the title and the first poem of his anthology Kimbunga (1994 Dar es Salaam: Taasisi ya Uchunguzi wa Kiswahili) that made him well-known all over Taniania. While making a living from the sea, as a fisherman, porter in the harbour, sailor and transporter of cloves, he has been composing, since 1955, a large amount of ngoma and taarab songs, riddles, tenzi and mashairi, short stories and, recently, a short novel. 62	Tungo za kujibizana: `Kuambizana ni sifa ya kupendana´ Samsom, Ridder 30 November 2012 (has links) Different labels have been used for marking the reciprocity in Swahili dialogue poetry, varying between the more neutral `malumbano´ or `kujibizana´ and the more marked `ukinzani´ or `mashindano´. By showing a sample from the Zanzibari newspaper Mwongozi (1956) of a poetic dialogue on wife-husband relationships, the paper argues that the poetical form and the strong language used are not a mere expression of what has been called `rivalry´, but instruments in expressing views and opinions that have been observed in other literary devices (mithali, misemo, vijembe) and their usage. At the same time it is demonstrated that different types of poems (tenzi, mashairi, nyimbo) and different styles (plain, metaphoric, riddle) are used side by side. The aim of this thesis is to give an opinion on my hypothesis that biblical symbol is a competent way of interpretation Bremond's pure poetry, and to evaluate the competence of Renč's poetry belonging to the concept of pure poetry. Also defining the limits of pure poetry through a comparison with the fourth Renč's collection which already shows significant changes in it's poetics. The theoretical part is focused on contemporary and modern literary-scientific views on Václav Renč's work, on the concept of poetry provided by Bremond, his reception in our backround and the role of the symbol in pure poetry. The thesis methodologically works with the symbol in connection with Zdeněk Mathauser's theory of a circle symbol that best corresponds with Bremond's understanding of poetry and is considered as the essential base of the theory of pure poetry. This diploma thesis has the character of comparative analysis, which deals with the Artificialism as specific Czech style in the period between two world wars. This work maps its position in the interwar art. It finds resource for a development of art and literary style similar to poetism or the Devetsil association. The poetism brings a new view of the world. The Artificialism is its visual equivalent that provides identification of the painter and poet, or poetry and image, or the topic of memories of memories. The thesis also presents the main and only two members of Artificialism - Styrsky and Toyen, and discusses their work, ideas, practices and theoretical works. I analyse the tensioned relationship between Artificialism and surrealism in the conclusion. The important finding is that artificialism is the original and most peculiar style of the interwar avant-garde, not only an intermediate step between Cubism and Surrealism, as it was presented in last years.
