Thesis "Ethical Aspects of Senior Care" deals with the recent issue of an aging population from the point of view of psychological, health-social and value-existential changes of man. It emphasizes the importance of adhering to ethical principles in senior care and complements practical social work by a specific analysis of the most important aspects of aging. Thesis is divided into five elementary parts. The first part of the thesis describes everything related to old age, the second part deals with the care of seniors from the historical point of view to the present. The third part of the thesis deals with the needs and the related value orientation of seniors. The fourth part tries to find and explain some ethical aspects that accompany the man in senium (dignity, autonomy, ageism). The fifth and final section offers some options for solving ethical problems that can be helpful in mastering this difficult part of life.

Homeless hostels started being established on the territory of the Czech Republic in the beginning of 1990. At present they are institutions of social services providing persons in unfavourable social situation related with loss of dwelling with accommodation services of social prevention for transition period. The goal of the thesis was to characterize the homeless hostel for men as an institution helping homeless persons with social integration from the point of view of professional staff and to explain life fates and experiences of selected users. The work is conceived as quality research focused primarily on the issues of social work. In order to meet the aim, the following methods and techniques of data collection were used: interview with help of instruction, narrative interview, study of documents and observation. Rules of service provision, internal rules of the institution, social worker activities, course of service and its planning are specified in more detail on the base of the data from interviews with professional staff and their subsequent analysis. The work focuses also on the offer of activities with stress on possibilities of work rehabilitation of the users and compares the individual facilities according to specified criteria. Life experiences of selected users before they stay in the homeless hostel are described together with their expectancies and future plans. Two hypotheses were formulated on the base of the research.

Presented work deals with analysis and description of the pastoral approaches of youth workers in the Salesian youth centres. The common characteristics of the Salesian youth centres are presented in the introductory part of the work. At first this theoretic part deals with the common conception of the Salesian youth pastoral ministry, afterwards deals with the official Czech conception. Second part of the work is applied. It is focused on the qualitative research realised in autumn 2007. It involved 18 respondents from the Salesian youth centres. This applied part starts with description of the research preparation and continues with description of the research process. Finally it deals with the data synthesis. There is a list of the results at the end of this part. There is a large supplement of the data attached at the end of the work.

The thesis deals with the social policy problems, its content, functions and principles, a European union view of this problems, including the link to regional policy and labour policy that is closely associated with social policy. In the practical part of the thesis there are evaluated national projects realized by bureaus of labour in years 2004 ? 2006 and introdused new regional individual projects managed by Bureau of Labour in South Bohemia and Pilsen Districts in the contemporary programming period 2007 ? 2013.

In this thesis, "Stages of social work with clients with Alzheimer's disease", I focused on the analysis of the most effective stages of social work. I found out that most respondents prefer a domestic informal care, corresponding to the stages of provided social work and unconditional acceptance of the patient. The sick person requires a sensitive holistic approach, accepting his individuality and ensuring dignity in all stages of the disease. The thesis was structured on the theoretical part, based on the findings of scientific literature dealing with the symptomatology and processes of Alzheimer's disease, characterized by basic treatment and care approaches. The theoretical part is followed by an own joint investigation, divided in a qualitative and a quantitative approach. The qualitative approach is based on a detailed case study which uses the methods of observation and interviews. Anonymous questionnaires were used for the quantitative method. The obtained data were summarized and analyzed. Due to the lack of data I concluded that the considered results can be obtained as irrelevant.

The thesis is focuse on professional ethics and ethical dilemmas in the work of a social worker in public administration / probation officer for adults. The main object was to find out what social workers consider as ethical dilemmas, how they are experiencing these situations, which strategies they choose to cope with these and what sources of support do they have. The overview part of the thesis is focused on a topic of values of social work and values of social workers. Overview part gives more attention to conception of justice and social justice, with which, among other documents, the codes of ethics work as one of the fundamental values of social work. It examines the professional values of social work by analyzing ethical documents - ethical codes. Research part of the thesis is based on qualitative research carried out through in-depth interviews with social workers in public administration. The thesis deals with the relation between psychological safety at work and the burnout syndrome among social workers providing social or integration services to persons granted international protection. The structure of the main text part of the thesis is divided into the theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part mostly deals with the definition of psychological safety at work, burnout syndrome and specifics of social work with persons granted international protection. In the empirical part are researched data, gathered from the quantitative survey conducted at the turn of 2020 and 2021, analyzed using the statistical data analysis. A total sum of 52 social workers, providing social or integration services for persons granted international protection in the Czech Republic, participated in the research. This thesis deals with the problem of unemployed people aged 18 to 24 in the district of Sokolov. This group of people represents the highest amount of unemployed people in the district of Sokolov. The essential sources of data include the available statistics of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Czech Statistical Office, the Municipal Office of Sokolov and the Labour Office of Sokolov. To make the problem clear it was very important to find out whether also other subjects than the Labour Office of Sokolov participate on finding a solution to unemployment of young people. An integral part of my thesis is an analysis of the labour market in the district of Sokolov. The consecutive analysis of the instrumets used in the active employment-politics in the district of Sokolov gives answer to the question whether all the available instrumets for the active employment-politics are used in the district of Sokolov. The thesis focuses on specification of intercultural social work, using the example of social service provided by the Residential Centre in Kostelec nad Orlici and the position of Mongolian applicants for international protection. In theoretical part the question of intercultural social work from a perspective of social worker is discussed - philosophical base is stated, scientific findings concerning selected subject are gathered, the situation of Mongolian migrants and the social service is described. Empirical part addresses the client's perception of social service. Using the method of in-depth interviews the research aims to find out how the Mongolian clients understand the social service provided by the Residential Centre Kostelec, whether they claim it useful and whether they see any difficulties in getting use of such service. Some of the insufficiency of provided social service is pointed out and therefore some appropriate arrangements are suggested at the end.

The thesis Cooperation of governmental and non-governmental sector in the care of neglected children has theoretical and research nature and is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The first chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the child neglect in the family. In addition to defining the concept are given the educational implications of child neglect in the family, its risk factors and failure of family in relation to child neglect. The second chapter deals with governmental and non-governmental sector entities, intervening in the area of child neglect. Attention is focused on social work in the department of social and legal protection of children, NGOs working with endangered families and children and socio-educational work with children at risk of neglect in selected schools and school facilities. The third chapter deals with the cooperation of governmental and non-governmental entities in the area, factors that affect their cooperation and rehabilitation of the family as an effective intervention in the family of the endangered child.
