The theoretical part of the dissertation is aimed at identifying and overcoming of dilemmas in social work. It deals with external and internal instruments that help to solve dilemmas, like ethical code, supervising and the personality of the worker. I discuss the starting points of work and the system of services in the drug field in the Czech Republic. The practical part contains an investigative probe focused on the perception of dilemmas in working experience in a facility dealing with lowthreshold services in the drug field. This part explores whether workers in this field feel the dilemma working with clients, how they overcome them and who or what can assist them during the process of overcoming these dilemmas. Furthermore, an investigative probe detects whether the dilemmas in the chosen facility are the same as the theoretically described dilemmas mentioned by L. Musil, a reputable expert in social work.

This diploma project design studio work focus on the introduction to the problematics of vacant lots within the contemporary city centres. The opening represents basic typology of the lots. The work also presents a strategy how to develop the potential of vacant lots with its recreation as public spaces before the housing developments. The whole project book is divided into three parts. Analythical one shows the vacants lots within the Brno city centre and their typology. The strategy is illustrated by a sort of a „health kit“ tool box.And the main aim of the design part is to explore various possibilities of development for a vacant lot on Vesela street.

This master's thesis, titled "Space as a Meaning-Making Factor in Children's and Young Adult Literature", concentrates on building and projection of literary space in the literature specifically intended for children and young adults. It has literary analytical and literary interpretive character and is based on theoretical works on the topic of literary space. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part covers the theoretical conception of literary space. This diploma thesis deals with problematics of sexual education at primary schools. Its aim is to make an overview of the problematics concerning two chosen primary schools, find out about their attitude towards this field and try to analyse real needs of pupils attending them. This diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with a term of sexual education and its importance in modern society. Other chapters emphasize sexual education in families, at schools and their participation in curricular documents. The practical part deals with a research of real conditions of sexual education at two already chosen primary schools and it tries to find out about these schools' attitudes towards the problematics. It also tries to find out about real needs of pupils in this area and about their knowledge of sexual education not only from their school's point of view, but also that of their families.

The present thesis deals with problems related to employment of visually impaired people in České Budějovice. The theoretical part deals with the definition of persons with visual impairment and their classifications, focus on possibilities for education and support for visually impaired people. Then I describe the legislative conditions in the process of employing such individuals and define the most important issues related to the employment of persons with visual disabilities. The empirical part interpret the results of our own research. The aim of the thesis is an analysis of the employment problem of visually impaired people. Research assumption is that job opportunities for persons with visual disabilities can improve their higher education or retraining course completion. Context research complemented with information about the attitudes of respondents, involving one of its own to the visual handicap and problems associated with information deficit, communication or technical barriers. The research part interprets the results of the specified issues of employment of the visually impaired in České Budějovice through case studies and using semi-structured interviews and observations.

It describes debt as a problem originating from the mindset of contemporary consumer society, reflects the risks of individual financial products available on the market, offered by banks and non-banking institutions in particular. It outlines the historical development of the consumer society and usury as a social problem. It describes the causes of indebtedness, risks associated with it (usury, execution) and current state of Czech society. It also includes a view of the social workers, who work with clients caught in a debt trap as a part of the professional social counseling on such issues.

The theses The issue of left-handedness focuses on left-handedness at its complexity. The theoretical part is focused on laterality and the left-handedness in general, the place of left-handed people in society and the changing view on laterality during times. It focuses on the differences between left and right-handed people and points out possible difficulties the left-handed might face. At the end I dealt with testing laterality and focused on possible ways to guide left-handed pupils. The practical research part is based on finding out the number of left-handed pupils in 1st grades on schools in the Karlovy Vary region. I farther focused on how aware of the lefthanded pupils problems the teachers are and how they guide them. The research took part in 16 randomly picked schools.
