Påträffande av naturlig arsenik vid produktion och dess påverkan : Nybyggnation av trafikplats Roserberg / Encountering natural arsenic in production and its impact : Construction of the interchange RoserbergLaw, Hai-Kit, Jakobsson, Johan January 2014 (has links)
We have of this thesis compiled reports, information, materials and experience that the Swedish Transport Administration has gathered, associated with the rebuilding of the interchange Rosersberg, we aim to identify the sequence of events in the discovery of arsenic. These data come from all the involved parties such as consultants, contractors, geologists, etc. And also decisions making from Sigtuna municipality, about the care and with respect to "Environment and Health" will be studied. For example Verkaån located in the municipality will be centralized in our work. This will also be a big part out investigation work, then the notification management and decision-making encompasses a big part of the critical moment regarding extension of time of production. The purpose here is to clarify the responsibility, commitment and if it possibly can be done more efficiently. The additional cost for the presence of arsenic was over 30 million SEK and a great amount of alterations and additional work (ÄTA) out of the total of around 200 was ocurred as a penalty. The production was extended for nine and a half months since the need of overall management of groundwater, soil and rock masses had to be taken care of before production would continue. This case study will let us understanding the coordination of road production and how it has been collaborated followed by in-depth analysis about the disposal of arsenic. In addition to studies of the gathered information regarding Rosersberg, we will also be interviewing those involved and expects to obtain additional information that will help us in the investigation. This leads us to the investigation to what extent the presence of arsenic has affected production in respect of time and cost. The following problems that we intend to seek answers to: • Identify the presence of natural arsenic and its impact on production • Identify deficiencies that arose before the disruption in production occurred • Reduce the resulting disruption in production • Correct the error in the planned course and then steer the organization towards its final aim

INDICATORI DI SOSTENIBILITÀ AMBIENTALE IMPLEMENTATI IN UN SISTEMA DI SUPPORTO ALLE DECISIONI PER IL SETTORE VITICOLO / ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY INDICATORS IMPLEMENTED IN A DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR VITICULTURAL SECTOR / ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY INDICATORS IMPLEMENTED IN A DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR VITICULTURAL SECTORMACCONI, MARTINA 17 March 2016 (has links)
The thesis focuses on environmental sustainability principles applied to the viticultural sector. The main goals are: (i) analysis of the literature background on agri-environmental indicators, (ii) development of an innovative methodology to assess environmental impacts of viticulture, and (iii) testing of the methodology in practical cases. The introduction is dedicated to the analysis of the agri-environmental indicators and the related EU policies, sustainable wine issues, and decision support systems for a sustainable viticulture. In the second part, a rigorous and complete methodology is developed to assess the sustainability level of viticulture in all the phases of the grape growing using both agronomic indicators and the Life Cycle Assessment approach. Six impact categories were identified: human health, air, soil, biodiversity conservation, energetic consumptions, and water use. Each category is composed by sub-indicators, for a total of 21 sub-indicators, each of them having a score (between 0 and 5) and a defined weight on the overall sustainability score (between 0 and 5). In the third part, the methodology was tested in practical cases within the European project “InnoVine”. The study is carried out following the guidelines from international standards and from documented literature sources for the assessment of the environmental performance and elaborating original methodologies for the input data collection, the quantification of the impacts, and the interpretation of the results. Finally, the results obtained confirm: i) the methodology validity in quantifying the impacts of different grape production practices on the environment, and ii) the possibility to implement the methodology in a decision support system for a sustainable viticulture.
