The subject of this diploma thesis was the research of vegetation at localities in the Protected Landscape Area Bohemian Paradise. There were choosen areas: Natural Monument Podloučky and Protected Area Fialník, where grows an orchid Gymnadenia conopsea subsp. montana. There were made 60 phytocenological samples, and described: biotop, altitude, slope, huminidy and exposure. There were found four orchid species in the localities. Phytocenological samples were compared with each other. It has been shown that differences between localities are greater than the differences between orchid and non-orchid samples. Significant differences were also found in comparing the coverage in the floor between locations and abundace of species in each floor.

Thesis title Legal regulation of nature and landscape conservation in Brdy Protected landscape area Abstract The topic of this thesis is an analysis of the Brdy Protected landscape area from the point of view of nature and landscape conservation and its legislative regulation as well as some practical problems raising out from the new legislative regime of this territory. The thesis is focused on the description and analysis of specific legal institutes, especially the special territorial conservation of nature, which has been chosen taking into account the specifics of the protection regime in this area of protected landscape territory. The thesis is conceptually divided into two parts. Some rare or protected plant species were found at some localities. The work includes some supplements - maps, charts and photos.

This master thesis deals with rural tourism in protected landscape areas. Its objective is a detailed analysis of the situation in the Šumava National Park and Blanský les Protected Landscape Area and evaluation of sustainable tourism as an aspect of rural tourism. In the introductory part key terms, such as national park, protected landscape area, countryside and thrifty tourism are explained. Practical part of the thesis uses managed interviews as a tool to evaluate business situation in both protected areas. The respondents were represented by individual businessmen who are doing business in model areas and employees of the administration of Šumava National Park and Blanský les Protected Landscape Area.

One lying inside the National park Šumava and protected landscape area Šumava and belongs to the ecological farming system, the second eco-enterprise is outside the protected area and third for comparison deals with the conventional form of agriculture and its lands reach into the protected landscape area Šumava. The theoretical section provides findings from the literature on socioeconomic aspects and protected areas (NP and CHKO Šumava). In the practical part of the selected agricultural operators were compared in terms of objective and subjective data (resulted from the interviews with individual company executives and publicly available data).

The Tourism Potential of Former Military Areas: The Case of the Brdy Military Region Abstract The thesis deals with tourism as an alternative which can replace the military function of former military areas. The first part of the thesis is focused on the aspects connected to the conversion of former military areas into tourist attractions, including specific options of tourist attractions use and associated forms of tourism. The second part is dedicated to the case study of the conversion of the Brdy Military Region. Its goal is to analyse media discourse on conversion of the Brdy Military Region and to point out its central topics, stakeholders and changes in time. Based on a field research, the thesis consequently examines current attitudes of local stakeholders with an emphasis on tourism. The thesis also includes an analysis of tourism potential of the former Brdy Military Region together with its surrounding area. In our country can be found preponderance of convenient places for doing this kind of sport in the Specially Protected Areas. The basic legal regulation governing the performance of climbing in the Czech republic is the Act of Nature and Landscape Protection. This paper investigates opinions of Administration of Protected landscape Areas employees on climbers and on mountain climbing generally. It also investigates possible effects of mountain climbing according to the view of particular employees. For this investigation I have chosen a qualitative strategy of sociological research.

Turismus a mechanismy jeho monitorování v Česku / Tourism and mechanism of its monitoring in Czechia

The objective of this master's thesis is to examine a detailed summary of the present situation of visitor monitoring methods in large-scale protected areas in Czechia. Methods used in Czechia are introduced on 9 areas. The main research tools used were interviews with 8 key actors and a survey with the head managers of 4 national parks and 25 protected areas. The questionnaire survey was conducted in November and December 2011 and had 100 % return. This thesis presents comprehensive characteristics of the situation in Czechia including levels of monitoring methods. It seems that this study is the first of its kind which has been done in Czechia. Findings show that there is systematic quantitative visitor monitoring in Czech national parks, but that there is not in protected landscape areas. The majority of national park and protected area management do not have a standard certificated methodology for managing counting visitors. This means that their results cannot be compared. To promote better understanding of methods the text includes 22 examples of visitor counting done in chosen European countries and 9 examples from other non-European countries with the goal of summarizing which methods and technologies are available and suitable for use in Czechia. Educational materials are intended for pupils of 6th and 7th grade of elementary schools. The author uses activating teaching methods such as games and competitons. In theoretical part are defined curricular documents aimed to cross sectional theme of enviromental education. Furthermore the author deals with the protection of nature and landscape and the characteristics of the territory of Třeboň. The practical part contains teaching materials for teachers, which the author designed and realized with pupils. Educational materials include ecosystem pond, forest, meadow, river, peat bog and sandpit.
