Syfte: Syftet med denna intervjustudie är att genom kvalitativ analysmetod undersöka patientens förväntningar på protetisk behandling på lärarklinik (LK) respektive studentklinik (SK) på oral protetik, Odontologiska fakulteten, Malmö universitet. Material och metod: Ett strategiskt urval av sammanlagt 13 deltagare (57-89 år) som remitterats till LK och SK på oral protetik, Odontologiska fakulteten, Malmö universitet gjordes. Sju av informanterna var från SK och sex var från LK. Semi-strukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med fokus på patientens förväntningar på den kommande protetiska behandlingen. Materialet analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultat: Efter bearbetning och analys av materialet identifierades tre gemensamma kategorier för SK och LK: Resultat med krav, Trygg i omhändertagandet och Hållbarhet för framtiden. Inget tema kunde identifieras. Variationer observerades mellan informanterna från SK och LK inom varje kategori. Slutsats: Det fanns inga större skillnader mellan patienternas förväntningar på den protetiska behandlingen på LK och SK. Tre huvudkategorier identifierades gemensamma för SK och LK, resultat med krav, trygg i omhändertagandet och hållbarhet för framtiden. Förväntningarna inom dessa kategorier var ofta kravfyllda med avseende på resultatet av den protetiska behandlingen, ett tryggt omhändertagande och hållbarhet i minst 10 år på de nya protetiska konstruktionerna. / Aim: The purpose of this interview study is to use a qualitative analysis method to investigate the patient's expectations of prosthetic treatment at the teacher-clinic (TC) and student-clinic (SC) at the Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Odontology, Malmö University. Material and method: A strategic sample of a total of 13 participants (ages 57-89) who were referred to TC and SC in oral prosthodontics, Faculty of Odontology, Malmö University was made. Seven of the informants were from SC and six were from TC. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with a focus on the patient's expectations of the upcoming prosthetic treatment. The material was analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: After completed analysis and processing of the material, three shared categories were identified for both the SC and TC: Results with requirements, Safe care and Sustainability for the future. No theme could be identified. Variations were observed between the informants from the SC and the TC within each category. Conclusion: There were no major differences between the patient's expectations on the prosthetic treatment at the TC and SC. Three main categories were identified common to SC and TC, results with requirements, safe care and sustainability for the future. The expectations within these categories were often demanding with regard to the results of the prosthetic treatment, safe care and sustainability for at least 10 years on the new prosthetic constructions.
