Genetická a hormonální regulace dětského růstu / Genetic and Hormonal Regulation of Children's Growth

Vosáhlo, Jan January 2014 (has links)
Genetic and Hormonal Regulation of Children's Growth MUDr. Jan Vosáhlo Abstract Growth in childhood is a complex process of changing the body, which can be disrupted by various illnesses including endocrine disorders, particularly growth hormone deficiency. Tumors or other processes affecting hypothalamic-pituitary area can be a postnatal cause of GHD; prenatal causes include 1) developmental disorders of the pituitary as part of complex syndromes, 2) developmental disorders of the pituitary due to defects in regulatory genes and 3) defects in genes involved in the synthesis and secretion of GH. The first topic of the thesis was septo-optic dysplasia - a complex syndrome involving optic nerve hypoplasia, structural brain abnormalities and pituitary dysfunctions. We extensively described phenotype in 11 Czech patients; we observed both complete SOD and incomplete forms variously combining two of the three main components of the syndrome. The cohort then became a part of an international study of 68 patients, in which we studied the phenotype in dependence on the brain morphology. We found correlation between the severity of clinical symptoms and the degree of septum pellucidum abnormities and also a correlation between hippocampus and falx abnormities and neurological symptoms. As the second topic we studied...

Optimalizace návrhu moderních nízkoenergetických dřevostaveb / Optimizing the design of modern low-energy wooden houses

Vahalová, Eva January 2017 (has links)
The main aim of the thesis was focused on hygrothermal simulation of critical details of two prefabricated wooden buildings - especially connections of the perimeter wall to monolithic foundations, respectively with waterproofing layer. The composition of the external walls of these selected buildings has quite different compositions and thus different potentials of drying integrated moisture from the components. Practical measurement of moisture weight-content was applied to the wooden bottom plate, which is in direct contact with the concrete slab structures. The influence of different design solutions on hygrothermal characteristics of the wooden plate was examined with regards to the risk of mould growth, analysis of mass loss due to the decay fungi and with the aim to estimate the durability of the studied details of prefabricated wooden houses. The subsequent research focused on the differences in physical and mechanical properties of natural spruce wood (Untreated, (-), A) and impregnated spruce (Treated, (+), B) using supercritical CO2 and its possible impact on wood protection for mould growth. Samples of identical Untreated and Treated spruce were collected in the laboratory and subjected to thermal and hygrothermal experiments. The comparison of the resulting values of the individual experiments is presented. Required values needed for numerical calculations were obtained from these experiments. In conclusion, the summary of founded comparison is presented. The mould growth analysis and its influence on the durability of wooden structures offer a view of the behaviour of the structures. Relevant findings and recommendations for the future praxis are mentioned.

Daň z příjmů fyzických osob v USA na federální a státní úrovni / Personal income taxation in the United States of America on federal and state level

Spáčilová, Ivana January 2011 (has links)
Personal Income Taxation in the United States of America on Federal and State Level The main aim of this thesis is to show the complexity of personal income taxation in the United States of America, by explaining the system of taxation and the main changes of the personal income taxation for the last ten years, under the influence of Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act, which was passed in year 2001. The system of this work is divided into four main parts. The role of the first part is to show the history of the taxation which led to the today's personal income taxation system, followed by second part with the explanation of system of the personal income tax of individuals, shown in details with the differentiated statuses of subjects, deductions, progressive tax brackets and tax credit for the taxpayers. The third part shortly describes personal income taxation system in the state of Maryland to show a different layer of the taxation system with its rules. The fourth part reflects the changes of the tax system in the last decade, which were brought by EGTRRA, with its affects on various groups of taxpayers and the effect on the economy of the country. These four parts together should create a picture of the system and its functioning of the personal income taxation in the United States of America.

Vliv reformy ekonomické governance EU na postavení Evropské komise / The Impact of the Economic Governance Reform of the EU on the Position of the European Commission

Lukášková, Sára January 2011 (has links)
The need to improve the economic governance of the EU occurred during the financial crisis when many member states experienced recession. The fact that each member state was influenced differently shows us the two main weaknesses of the EMU: economic heterogeneity of the member states and deep public debt. Existing fiscal rules were proved to be ineffective and unenforceable. The topic of this master thesis is the analysis of the impact of the economic governance reform on the position of the European Commission. The thesis deals only with one aspect of the reform- the budgetary surveillance framework. The thesis explains that this reform was necessary for improving of the EMU and it deals with the impact of this reform on the position of the European Commission. The analysis is based on the comparison of legal acts concerning the budgetary surveillance framework before and after the reform.

Trh rezidenčních nemovitostí během finanční krize - empirická evidence z regionu zemí střední a východní Evropy / Residential real estate market during the financial crisis : empirical evidence from the CEE region

Hrachovec, Martin January 2012 (has links)
1 Abstract This thesis investigates the housing price determinants and possibilities of housing price bubbles in the residential real estate markets of Central and Eastern Europe before and during the economic crisis of 2007-2009. Using data from international institutions, national central banks and national statistical offices three quantitative methods are applied. Price-to-income ratios suggest housing price bubbles that were eliminated during the crisis in three out of five countries covered. Second approach of simple panel data models sheds additional light on housing price bubbles and indicates GDP growth, unemployment and average real wage as the main determinants of housing prices in the region. First indication of severe housing price persistence in CEE is demonstrated by the results of the models as well. More reliable results for housing price determinants are obtained from variance decomposition and impulse response functions of vector autoregression models. Each country is modeled separately and substantial differences exist between the countries. Poland is the only country that does not exhibit housing price persistence and dynamics in Austria are less volatile as compared to the new EU members in the sample. Vývoj trhu s vybranými druhy plodin využitelnými k produkci bílkovinných koncentrátů / Development of market with chosen crop species usable for production of protein concentrates

TŘÍŠKA, Libor January 2016 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the development of the market for protein crops. The literature research deals one hand with the distribution and morphology of legumes, and on second hand with the structure and chemical composition of seeds of selected species (pea, soybean and lupine). The literature research also covers the production of protein concentrates and their commercialization. The practical part is mainly engaged in the analysis of market developments of selected species of legumes in the Czech Republic, especially during the years 2000 - 2015, in comparison with the market development of the individual European states (Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia and France). The outcome of this diploma thesis is the ordination of statistical data available in clear graphical and tabular outputs, it does not miss time series evaluation of development of individual crops in both the Czech Republic and other selected countries.

Ekologická omezení odnožování z kořenů u mokřadních rostlin / Ecological constraints limiting the root-sprouting ability in wetland plant species

SOSNOVÁ, Monika January 2010 (has links)
Wetland plant species rely largely on vegetative reproduction. Although all types of clonal growth organs are found in wetlands, special adaptations, e.g., turions, fragmentation and budding, are more frequent in true aquatic communities. However, root-sprouting is underrepresented, although it can be beneficial under disturbed conditions. This thesis focuses on ecological constrains potentially hindering root-sprouting in wetlands. This ability was studied in a wetland herb Rorippa palustris in relation to life history, injury timing and carbon economy of a plant. In addition, plant regeneration following submergence and severe disturbance was assessed.
