Strategie Evropa 2020 v kontextu moderních teorií ekonomického růstu / Europe 2020 Strategy in the Context of Modern Growth Theories

Katocsová, Veronika January 2010 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with Europe 2020 strategy and its targets in the context of growth theories. The thesis aims at relating the measures suggested by the strategy to the implications of the growth theories. First, the targets are compared with the current situation in EU member states and problem areas of European competitiveness are identified. Growth models described in the first chapter yield some normative recommendations with respect to growth policies. Based on these conclusions, the thesis discusses the policies designed in the Europe 2020 strategy and their implications for economic growth in the EU.

Socioekonomická polarizace v Česku / The social-economic polarization in Czech Republic

Kozáková, Lucie January 2015 (has links)
This thesis main topic is the social-economic polarization in Czech Republic and its development process within past two decades. The main aim is to define growth poles with positive social-economic development and peripheric areas with stagnating or negative development. Consequently the secondary aim of this thesis is to confirm or disprove hypothesis resulting from Myrdal's theory of cumulative causation: "Growth poles grow faster over time and conversly peripheric areas decline further over years." In next step growing and peripheric regions are described and the possible causes of develepment within this areas are interpreted. Leading theories of regional development focusing on social-economic growth polarization are described in the theoretical part. The emphasis is on core -- periphery theories with main focus on theory of cummulative causation by Gunnar Myrdal.

Convergence or Divergence: The Analysis of Economic Growth in the CIS Countries

Hakimov, Durbek January 2010 (has links)
This dissertation examines from a comparative perspective the growth experience for a sample of twelve countries of the former Soviet Union over the period from 1991 to 2008. Two meth- ods of econometric analysis are applied: cross-section regressions and dynamic panel data esti- mation techniques. The main focus of the study has been to empirically establish whether coun- tries in the region are converging or diverging in terms of their income per capita and to find important sources of cross-country differences which determine the shape of this process. I did not find statistically significant support for conditional convergence in any cross-section period. It is partly supported by the increased dispersion of per capita income levels during the sample period. Meanwhile, panel data fixed-effects and GMM methods provide strong support for con- ditional convergence hypothesis. The first-differenced GMM estimator indicates a rate of con- vergence of around 2 per cent a year, which is surprisingly similar to the standard cross-section findings in empirical literature. However, it could be the result of the cyclical behaviour of out- put during transition. In general, results indicate that structural transformation is not yet over in most of the countries. Therefore progress in market-oriented reforms and...

Produkce toxinů bakterií Bacillus subtilis a jejich role v konkurenčním boji s dalšími bakteriemi / Production of toxins by Bacillus subtilis and their roles in interspecies competitions.

Šureková, Kristína January 2021 (has links)
Bacillus subtilis is a gram positive soil bacterium that is surrounded by many other microorganisms its environment. That is why it is necessary for the bacterium to be able to fight with these microorganisms for the nutrients and living space. B. subtilis contains the modules in its genetic make-up that improve its ability to compete. These modules are called the toxin-antitoxin systems. This Diploma Thesis is trying to identify yet undescribed extracellular toxins produced by the wild type BSB1 strain of B. subtilis. The related microorganism Bacillus megaterium was used as a competing bacterium. The contact-dependent or independent manner of killing the competing bacterium was demonstrated using this model. By deletion analysis and comparisons of the genomes of the various strains of B. subtilis, the SPβ prophage was first identified as a region containing an unknown toxin(s). Analysis of the extracellular proteome of B. subtilis subsequently revealed an unknown toxin (or toxin complex, respectively) of the molecular weight exceeding 100 kDa. Even more fascinating was the finding that such a large protein molecule is resistant to the pancreatic protease, trypsin. Subsequent non-enzymatic cyanogen bromide cleavage of the extracellular proteins and their analysis by mass spectrometry revealed...

Kinetika šíření krátkých únavových trhlin v superduplexní oceli / Kinetics of Short - crack Growth in Superduplex Steel

Bártová, Lenka January 2008 (has links)
The fatigue life and the kinetics of short crack growth in specimen of austenitic-ferritic duplex steel cycled with constant stress amplitude and different mean stresses is studied. Fatigue life was determined on smooth cylindrical specimens. Strain amplitude and mean strain were recorded. Short crack growth was studied in cylindrical specimens with a shallow notch. Cyclic straining was interrupted and crack length was measured using an optical microscope mounted on the testing machine. Crack length and crack growth rates were evaluated. The effect of the mean stress on the rate of short cracks and fatigue life were discussed.

Geografická charakteristika extrémních propadů růstu borovice lesní ve střední Evropě / Geographical characteristics of extreme growth depressions of Scots pine in Central Europe

Mík, Milan January 2020 (has links)
The presented diploma thesis studies extreme growth depressions of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) in Central Europe. Examination of significant growth anomalies (pointer year analysis) is one of the methods, which investigates the reactions of forest stands to the ongoing climate change. Dendrochronological data was obtained from Czechia (23 sites) and Slovakia (4 sites). The main hypotheses of the thesis states that the extreme growth depressions relate to climatic anomalies, hence they can be explained geographically. The objectives were to 1) create a Cropper values chronology for each site which describes growth extreme depressions; 2) explain climatic causes of negative Cropper values for each site; 3) define geographical predispositions of a spatial distribution of extreme growth depressions; 4) spatially interpolate extreme growth depressions. The calculation of Cropper values was based on a normalisation in a moving window method with a 13-year window size and the input data detrended by a 50-year cubic smoothing spline. Created chronologies were correlated with monthly climate data (temperatures, precipitation, SPEI). Geographical predispositions of the spatial distribution of growth depressions were calculated using a hierarchical cluster analysis. The cluster analysis was also applied...

Interakce proteinů Whi3 a Yap6 při mírném osmotickém stresu / Interaction of Whi3 and Yap6 under mild osmotic stress

Voloshin, Danila January 2021 (has links)
Natural strains of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae growing on solid médium form structured, biofilm -like colonies. This ability is depended on the surface adhesin Flo11p. The expression of the FLO11 gene is upregulated by the RNA-binding protein Whi3p, which is likely to have a negative effect on the level of the transcription factor Yap6p. The aim of this study was to determine whether Yap6p affects colony morphology and FLO11 expression. Analysis of FLO11 expression using the fluorescent proteins pFlo11-GFP and Flo11p-DsRed in WHI3-deletion strains demonstrated a negative effect of Yap6p on FLO11 expression and confirmed changes in the effect of Yap6p on FLO11 expression in the presence of NaCl. In the strain overexpressing YAP6, the fluorescence values of pFlo11-GFP and Flo11p-DsRed were lower than in the strain with deletion of the YAP6 and in the presence of NaCl there was observed the largest increase in fluorescence. Although Yap6 protein is thought to have a negative effect on FLO11 expression under standard culture conditions, it seems to be responsible for a significant increase in FLO11 expression in the presence of mild osmotic stress. In WHI3-deletion strains, there was observed a significant increase in structuredness of colonies growing in the presence of NaCl. Analysis of structured...

Ekofyziologická diferenciace kryptických druhů komplexu Synura petersenii (Synurophyceae) / Ecophysiological differentiation of Synura petersenii cryptic species (Synurophyceae)

Jelínková, Lucie January 2014 (has links)
Synura petersenii represents a complex of pseudo-cryptic species. These are planktonic colonial organisms belonging to the class Chrysophyceae. The species are abundant in spring and autumn, when they produce golden-brown blooms in oligo-mesotrophic waters. In this thesis, I focused on investigating the effect of temperature to growth parameters of four selected species: S. petersenii, S. americana, S. glabra and S. conopea. Several temperature experiments were performed and statistically analyzed. According to growth curves the temperature 25 žC was mostly stressful for these organisms. Only S. petersenii sensu stricto was sometimes able to growth at this temperature. In general, the significant differences in growth rates were detected between S. petersenii and S. americana. In all experiments, S. petersenii had the lowest growth rate. This ubiquitous species probably acts as a K-strategist. S. americana grew generally very quickly, especially at temperature 13 žC that is obviously optimal for it. Further, I observed a significant strain specificity, which is largely a well-known phenomenon in the ecophysiology. Significant differences in growth rates were noted between temperatures 13 žC and 16 žC, where all tested species grew best, as well. This is in accordance with a general recognition of...
