Consequently, the First Chapter versa regarding the National Canon and Racial Theories with intent to training (and idealization) of Brazil in Literature and especially the presence of the black (the captive condition or not). From a biographical point of view, the Second Chapter presents, according to the antecedent scope, the life and intellectual trajectory of Aluísio Azevedo. The Third Chapter is intended, as a first moment, to Aluísio Azevedo as a journalist, marking his allocutions in the Maranhão's newspapers (as well as other writers / writers), between the 1880s and the first months of 1881. To observe Aluísio Azevedo as a literary, the second moment is reserved, first and foremost, for the appreciation of the representations contained in the novel O Mulato. / Esta dissertação compreende, em arranjo exordial, a conversação conceitual da pesquisa, a acepção de algumas palavras basilares à narrativa e a proposição dos entrechos dos capítulos. Por conseguinte, o Primeiro Capítulo versa a respeito do Cânone Nacional e das Teorias Raciais com intento à formação (e idealização) do Brasil na Literatura e, mormente, à presença do negro (na condição cativa ou não). De enfoque biográfico, o Segundo Capítulo cursa, consoante ao escopo antecedente, a trajetória (de vida e intelectual) de Aluísio Azevedo. O Terceiro Capítulo destina-se, como primeiro momento, a Aluísio Azevedo enquanto jornalista, assinalando suas alocuções nos jornais maranhenses (bem como de outros articulistas/escritores), no entretempo de 1880 e primeiros meses de 1881. A atinar para Aluísio Azevedo enquanto literato, o segundo momento reserva-se, antes de tudo, à apreciação das representações contidas no romance O Mulato.
