Ďurža, Karel January 2017 (has links)
The thesis is aimed at the subject of classicism in a broader sense of this term and is based on the classicism period architecture in the Czech Republic. The introductory chapter intends to briefly and independently define and clarify the terms classical, classicism and neoclassicism, deal with the shaping of the classical canon in Europe and outline the evolution of classical features in the history of the Czech architecture in the European context. In separate chapters the thesis systematically follows the matters of classicism in the first half of the 19th century, in the periods of pure and late historicism and early and paramount modernism. Special attention has been paid to the matters of classicism in the Czech thoughts on art in the interwar period and during the German occupation. Having analysed the classicism-style tendencies in the socialist realism architecture the thesis identifies basic classicism-style aspirations in the 2nd half of the 20th century and in the beginning of the 21st century. The final chapter is dedicated to the identification of the main overall specifics of classicism in the Czech architecture based on a list of examples.

Mezinárodní režimy proti obchodování s lidmi: Evropská zkušenost / International Regimes against Trafficking in Human Beings: European Experience

Prixová, Barbora January 2019 (has links)
The target of this research is to reveal causal factors that influence the way policy goals and instruments of international organizations in the domain of human trafficking are designed. By tracking evolutions of anti-trafficking policies undergone by the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the thesis demonstrates impact of specific factors on changes in the functioning of international organizations. To unravel mechanism explaining the internal workings of a policy formation within an IO, the thesis considers and tests theoretical assumptions of three rivalling theories on institutions; the realism, historical institutionalism and neoliberal institutionalism. Premises of respective theories, which offer contrasting perspectives on the functioning of international organizations, will help to formulate corresponding independent variables. The dependant variable being the changing design of institutions, the detailed cross-case analysis spanning a period of one decade uncovers causal relations between independent dependent variables. Thus, by means of time series data collection, patterns revealing which of independent variables can be designed as responsible for observed changes becomes visible. In this way, the study is able to answer to what extent...

Alternativní ontologie: topologická imaginace a topologický materialismus / Alternative Ontology: topological Imagination and Topological Materialism

Mrva, Jozef January 2022 (has links)
The dissertation Alternative Ontology, subtitled Topological Imagination and Topological Materialism, focuses on the analysis of spatial phenomena and space in the intentions of the mathematical discipline of topology, which is interested in spaces from the point of view of set theory. My goal is to present topology as a tool not only for contemporary philosophy, but also for artistic creation. For the purpose of the dissertation, I formulate two concepts: Topological imagination and Topological materialism. Topological imagination is a tool and method for creating and thinking with the consciousness of space as a dynamic structure, which is not bound only by fixed laws of geometry. This method originated as the name of my long-term artistic practice, which is largely based on the study of space, topology, knot theory and the search for ways of their application in artistic and theoretical work. I propose Topological materialism as a concept that combines the thinking of networks and multi-dimensional spaces with the philosophical currents of the materialist tradition, especially the New Materialism. My basic thesis is that these cannot be perceived separately. Materialism cannot be thought without its spatial dimension, and topology without anchoring in the material world becomes a mere abstraction. The second part of the dissertation is devoted to the analysis of specific spaces: the space we inhabit, which I call phenomenological, infrastructure, logistics space, information space and the space of capital. In addition to individual analyzes, I also focus on their intersections, connections and joint operation.

Černá, Johana January 2014 (has links)
The master thesis attempts to characterise the staging poetics of Miroslav Macháček, one of the most remarkable Czech theatre directors of the second half of the 20th century. Based on his stage works in the 70's and 80's at the National Theater, the author of this thesis attempts to make a reconstruction of all his productions of that period; and thus the detailed analysis of the more significant productions characteristic to the director's style is provided. In order to define the stagings, the author bases her research upon archival theater reviews and studies in particular periodicals, photographical materials from the productions and in some cases also audiovisual recordings. Furthermore, other sources include the director's correspondence, notes about his work and the memories of his contemporary witnesses. The thesis also focuses on the historical context and the conditions at the National Theater of that particular time, which influenced Macháček's activity there.

Geopolitická příslušnost Ruska v současném ruském diskurzu / Geopolitical affiliation of Russia in contemporary Russian discourse

Kalinová, Olga January 2012 (has links)
The question of Russia's geopolitical affiliation has been a cause of centuries long debate, whether Russia belongs to Europe or to Asia. From the geographical point of view, Russia is predominantly situated in Asia. From cultural and civilisational points of view, Russian people tend to lean towards Europe, even though they capture elements of both civilizations. By examination of the most prominent Russian schools of thought, mainly of geopolitical nature (Slavophilism, Westernism, Atlantisms, Eurasianism, etc.) the work seeks to systemize the answers to this question. At the same time, it seeks to determine through analysis of the contemporary Russian foreign policy, which of these ideological leanings plays a dominant role in foreign policy discourse in Russia since 2000. Thanks to identification of this priority direction and by determining the primary orientation of Russian foreign policy in a particular region, the aim of this work is finally to answer the following question: What is Russia: Europe, Asia, or a separate continent of Eurasia?

Recepce nizozemského realismu v pozdně gotické deskové malbě v Čechách / The Reception of Dutch Realism in the Late Gothic Panel Painting in Bohemia

Fiřt, Jan January 2016 (has links)
The dissertation deals with the reception of Dutch realism in the late Gothic panel painting in Bohemia. Its aim is to examine the principles of reception of new artistic forms and ideas that originated in the Dutch art centers in the 15th century. The Czech painting of the 15th century was adopting these innovative trends exclusively from the neighbouring countries. Therefore, the work addresses mainly issues related to artistic exchanges between Bohemia and the surrounding - mostly German-speaking - regions. It looks into the specific ways in which artistic exchange took place - the mobility of artists, art imports, the importance of graphic and other models. The dissertation focuses on the most important examples that show the reception of Dutch realism: The Ark of Grand Master Puchner, The Křivoklát Altarpiece, and works associated with it. These matters are addressed mainly through a formal stylistic analysis and formal comparison. In the case of the Puchner Ark, via these methods, it has been possible to point out a possible artistic basis of the author in Swabia - within a circle of the followers of the Master of the Sterzing Altarpiece. The dissertation has tried to prove the artistic origin of the Master of the Litoměřice Altarpiece within the circle of the Ulm painter B. Zeitblom. These...
