Indirekte Figurencharakterisierung durch Formen der Redewiedergabe in realistischem Erzählen / Indirect Characterization through Forms of Speech Representation in Realistic NarrationWeimer, Lukas Matthias January 2022 (has links) (PDF)
Indirect characterization contributes to a large extent to the overall characterization of characters, but has nevertheless been studied comparatively little so far. This thesis addresses the phenomenon of indirect characterization theoretically through an own explication, names different forms of representation of indirect characterization, and then elaborates the theory in regard to speech representation on the basis of numerous examples. The study is based on a corpus of realistic narrative texts, in which forms of speech representation are manually annotated, in order to run some computational experiments with the annotations in a later step. In its design, this work thus follows a mixed-methods design of qualitative and quantitative literary studies.

Postmodernismus a magický realismus v Høegově Představách o dvacátém století (Forestillingen om det tyvende århundrede)". Pokus o terminologické vymezení / Postmondernism and Magic Realism in Forestillingen om det tyvende århundrede by Peter Høeg. An Attempt to Define the TermsTalafantová, Kristýna January 2016 (has links)
1 Abstract The thesis examines the relationship of the literary phenomena magical realism and postmodernism. The starting point of the thesis is the statement that both the terms embody various common features (ideological, thematic). The author targets the definition of both styles and their genealogical delimitation in the first part. In the second part, the author relates these two terms to the particular work - the novel The History of Danish Dreams of the danish author Peter Høeg. It is possible to find demonstrable principles of both magical realism and postmodernism in this wider prose. The author of this thesis illustrates principles and themes with examples from the novel and the interpretations.

Příspěvek k obraně realistické tradice v mezinárodních vztazích vůči konstruktivistické kritice / A defense of realism in international relations against constructvist criticsČevela, David January 2011 (has links)
In this thesis I analyze realism and some of its social constructivist critics. The aim of the thesis is to find areas in which there is a potential for a synthesis of these two paradigms. I propose understand states and the international system as whole as social institutions, with realism to find and interpret its rules and modus operandi.

Soběslav Pinkas, český malíř (1827 - 1901) / Soběslav Pinkas, czech painter (1827 - 1901)Brožová, Kristýna January 2012 (has links)
English Abstract The goal of my master thesis is to present a comprehensive study of the life and work of Sobeslav Pinkas (1927 - 1901), one of the most important Czech realistic painters. Painter's personal and artistic development is introduced in the wider historical context to allow us to understand why he had decided to become a painter. In 1948 Pinkas, as a young student of law, joined the armed revolution and personally attended the riots. Later he became a caricaturist for the Sotek magazine. His craving for democracy in the political life was mirrored in his attempts to find a new way of artistic expression. Neither the Academy in Prague nor the one in Mnichov could stand up to his expectations, and he consequently chooses Johann Baptist Berdelle as his personal teacher. Later, following a short Prague intermezzo, he, as one of the first Czech artist, leaves for Paris, where he studies under the guidance of Thomas Couture. Later on he discovers the work of Jean-François Millet and is heavily influenced by it. His conversion to the modern style of French painting wasn't received in Prague with much enthusiasm, which may be one of the reasons why he gradually, after his return to his homeland, stops painting. He became a drawing teacher at girls' secondary school; apart from that, he was a member of...

Die Problematik der Nachahmung bei J.M.R. Lenz und Georg LukácsOffermanns, Natalia 21 August 2013 (has links)
The present work deals with the concept of mimesis/imitation in art and litera-ture, in particular with its use and interpretation by J.M.R. Lenz and Georg Lukács. Mimesis/Imitation as the basic concept of the arts plays a significant role in the development of realism both authors support. Both Lenz and Lukács share Aristotle's views on the Mimesis/imitation as the nature of poetry and see its origins in anthropology. However, in contrast to Aristotle Lenz emphasizes the empirical side of imitation; in principle awarding the artist the critical role and responsibility for the capture and reflection of the whole. Lukács converts his earlier metaphysics into a Marxist philosophy of history. In a homogeneous medium of art it should be possible for realistic art to show the essence and the particulars of the society of its time.
