Regional parties are among the younger topics of political science research, their issue is not addressed by too many authors, and therefore we do not find many works that would contribute to this not very researched area. One of the authors, who included regional parties in her research, is Bonnie Meguid. She introduced the concept of niche parties, dealing with the success of "parties of gaps" compared to mainstream parties. In this work, the concept of niche parties is applied to Spanish regional parties to determine whether the concept is suitable for regional parties and whether we can speak of Spanish regional parties as niche parties. The analysis of the concept will be performed based on five established criteria, based on the work of Meguid and Wagner, who followed up on her concept and expanded it. Eight regional parties from six Spanish regions, selected based on several conditions, will be examined. The source basis of this work are party documents of selected regional parties, especially their election programs.

This paper focuses on regional political parties and description of their political ideas. The goal of this paper is to examine and compare regional political parties in two Swedish regions: Norrbotten and Skåne. By studying two biggest regional parties in these regions, namely Norrbottensparti and Skånepartiet, I will try to get an insight into the regional politics, as well as illustrate regionalism and its meaning. My primary intention is to examine how these two regional parties experience their regions and what they consider of importance in regional development. By studying these regional parties and their opinion/apprehension about regional politics and their ideological/political affiliation, I will try to illustrate an ideological dimension of regionalism. My intention is to point out differences and similarities between politics of these regional parties, as well as to illustrate approach to the regionalism and its meaning.</p>

Czech party system can be described as relatively young compared to other, especially western European party systems. However in these days we can identify a number of regional parties inside it. This work answers the question how we can accurately identify which political entities belong to the group of regional parties in the context of the Czech Republic and which not. Likewise, it brings analysis of the position of these kinds of formations in the Czech political system. The theoretical part deals with the definition of "regional party". It brings several different theoretical approaches, which deal with the definition of that term, and then examines the application of the definition of regional parties to the case of the Czech Republic. In the analytical part, which is a case study, there is defined circuit of Czech regional parties. After that it is presented comprehensive analysis of these subjects on base of official documents of these parties, such as their articles of association, political program etc., as well as statistical data kept in the databases of central government authorities of the Czech Republic and interviews with members of selected regional formations.
