This paper investigates the responsive behaviors of the King Gustav I of Sweden in connection with the two fortified border towns and adjacent areas of Kalmar in Småland and Viborg (today Vyborg) in the Karelian Isthmus from the outgoing letters sent by the king during three significant periods during his reign; 1527-1530 highlighting the Westrogothian rebellion, 1543-1544 with the climax of the Dacke War and 1555-1558 featuring the Russo-Swedish War and the delegations of Duchy of Småland and Finland to his eldest sons Eric and John. With the help of secondary literature we could pinpoint important courses of events that confirm the contexts of the letters.The results show that Gustav I was a highly demanding character who gave calls and advices to his subordinates regarding both military and civilian spheres. The nature of the letters can be categorized after four main themes: 1) Defensive counsels of the cities' fortifications, walls and castles 2) Military presence within the defenses’ facility and by the borders 3) The burgess' various complaints and problems 4) Trading rights and hindrance. The use of authority by law echoes throughout the letters, due of Gustav I:s position as King of Sweden.It is rather accepted today, that Gustav I was a product of his time with the teachings of Machiavelli spreading all over Europe. Traits as authoritarian rule and supervision over its subjects is a common feature in the letters during his lifetime, but also a hint of flexibility of the laws, giving his subjects exceptions during pressed and hard times.

Die Schriftgutverwaltung ist an der Universität Hamburg dem Universitätsarchiv angegliedert, das auch für die elektronische Aktenführung in der Präsidialverwaltung zuständig ist. Die Erstellung eines prozessorientierten Aktenplans und die Einführung eines Dokumentenmanagementsystems (DMS) in die gesamte Universität wären vorteilhaft in Sachen Zusammenarbeit, Nachvollziehbarkeit, Transparenz und Langzeitarchivierung, und würden ein ganz- und einheitliches Records Management ermöglichen. / At the University of Hamburg, records management is attached to the University Archives, which is also responsible for the electronic record management in the presidential administration. The creation of a process-oriented filing plan and the introduction of a document management system (DMS) in the entire university would be advantageous in terms of teamwork, traceability, transparency and digital preservation. Also, it would enable a new, more comprehensive and uniform records management.

Der Vortrag ist ein Ergebnis der eigenen Erfahrungen bei der Beschäftigung mit dem Thema. Er soll deutlich machen, dass digitale Archivierung ein Thema ist, in das jeder Mensch sich ‚reinwühlen‘ und im Austausch mit anderen seine eigenen Erkenntnisse gewinnen muss. Er beschreibt die Ausgangslage in der Nordkirche und die Versuche, eine Finanzierung der digitalen Archivierung sicherzustellen. Er zeigt auf, wie Außenstehenden die Brisanz bei der Bestandserhaltung digitaler Informationen vermittelt werden kann. Und er will Mut machen, einfach anzufangen. Schließlich haben alle klein angefangen! / The lecture is a result of my own experience in dealing with the topic. It is intended to make it clear that digital archiving is a topic that everyone has to 'dig into' and gain their own insights in exchange with others. It describes the initial situation in the Northern Church and the attempts to secure funding for digital archiving. He shows how outsiders can be made aware of the explosive nature of preserving digital information. And he wants to encourage people to simply get started. After all, we all started small!

Von Mittwoch, den 21.04.2021, bis Freitag, den 23.04.2021, richtete das Archiv für deutsche Polarforschung (AdP) des Alfred-Wegener-Instituts (AWI), Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung, und der Verband deutscher Archivarinnen und Archivare (VdA) die Frühjahrstagung der Fachgruppe 8 des VdA aus. Diese Tagung war bereits im Frühjahr 2020 geplant und musste dann abgesagt werden. Im Jahr 2021 wurde die Tagung von vornherein als digitale Tagung geplant. Neben dem Tagungsprogramm wurde ein digitaler Pausenraum unter Wonder.me eingerichtet, in dem sich die Tagungsteilnehmer zwanglos zum kollegialen Gespräch treffen konnten. Die Tagung widmete sich dem Thema 'Digitalisierung' in seiner ganzen Breite - natürlich mit Bezug zu den Archiven in unserer Fachgruppe. Unter dieser Prämisse behandeln wir in Vorträgen, Workshops, Diskussionen und Führungen verschiedene Aspekte des Themas. Dazu gehören: Erhebung, Verarbeitung, Speicherung und Aufbewahrung von Forschungsdaten, Schriftgutverwaltung im Rahmen von Dokumentenmanagementsystemen, die Einrichtung von digitalen Archiven, Nutzung von Archiven im Rahmen von Portalen, rechtliche Aspekte des Digitalisierungsprozesses im Archiv und zukünftige Einsatzmöglichkeiten von Künstlicher Intelligenz in den digitalen Workflows eines Archivs. / From Wednesday, 21 April 2021, to Friday, 23 April 2021, the Archive for German Polar Research (AdP) of the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, and the Association of German Archivists (VdA) hosted the spring meeting of Division 8 of the VdA. This meeting was already planned for spring 2020 and then had to be cancelled. In 2021, the conference was planned from the outset as a digital conference. In addition to the conference programme, a digital break room was set up under Wonder.me, where conference participants could meet informally for collegial discussions. The conference was dedicated to the topic of 'digitisation' in all its breadth - naturally with reference to the archives in our section. Under this premise, we dealt with various aspects of the topic in lectures, workshops, discussions and guided tours. These include: collection, processing, storage and preservation of research data, records management in the context of document management systems, the establishment of digital archives, use of archives in the context of portals, legal aspects of the digitisation process in the archive and future possibilities of using artificial intelligence (AI) in the digital workflows of an archive.
