Konstrukce obchodu s lidmi v České republice / A construction of human trafficking in the Czech Republic

Černá, Steffi January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with the construction of human trafficking in the Czech Republic. It presumes that human trafficking is not an objective problem that can be accurately quantified and described, but that there are discourse types which are used by actors to frame the topic. I have identified four discourse types: human trafficking as organized crime, human trafficking as migration, human trafficking as prostitution and human trafficking as forced labour. The main actors in this field use the various types of securitization to present the theme of human trafficking. I also use the securitization approach described by Claudia Aradau, like is politics of pity and politics of risk. This thesis asks questions, who are the main actors in this securitization process and how do they create it and which discourse topics do they use. The construction of human trafficking is examined by discursive analysis. The most important source of information is the official documents of the main actors and their interaction that frames the topic. Interesting is also clash between discourse and practice, which comes out of different discursive types. The last chapter asks whether the desecuritization would not be good way to follow.

Snopek, Ondřej January 2021 (has links)
Euro and the Czech Republic - the benefits and pitfalls of the euro currency Abstract The thesis focuses on possible benefits, hazards and costs which could rise up from the entrance of Czech Republic to the Euro Zone and implementation of euro currency. The aims of the thesis are as follows: to acquaint the reader with the history of the monetary and economical integration in the Europe after the second world war to the present time; present the criteria of the nominal and real convergence used to determinate the level of convergence between states, assess the level of convergence reached by the Czech Republic in relation to the Euro Zone; and present the possible benefits hazards and costs of the introduction of the euro. To achieve the abovementioned aims, the method of analysis, synthesis, comparison and description was used. The content of the thesis is divided to five major chapters. The first chapter contains the history of the monetary and economic integration in Europe after the second world war starting with the establishment of the Council of Europe up to the acceptance of the Maastricht Treaty, establishment of the monetary and economic union - the Euro Zone and introduction of the euro in its member states. The second chapter introduces the nominal convergence criteria defined by the...

Bread and peace for the Democratic Republic of Congo : is decentralisation the answer?

Djamba, Dieu-Donne W. 10 October 1900 (has links)
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been ravished by internal conflicts for the past two decades. These conflicts have come at a great cost to the people of the DRC, often resulting in a number of human rights atrocities. These atrocities range from the loss of life, resulted in internal displacement and creation of refugees’ communities, as well as the destruction of property and infrastructure , all contributing to prevailing conditions of poverty and deep societal divisions. While there are many underlying factors that fuel these conflicts, the key drivers of the conflict are linked to the unequal distribution of the DRC’s national resources and the mismanagement of public services. Intense frustration and a sense of helplessness to change the status quo have repeatedly manifested itself in a cycle of war and ethnic cleansing. In this regard, the pattern of conflicts has been the manifestation of the frustration of the Congolese people as a whole. / Thesis (LLM (Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa)) -- University of Pretoria, 2010. / A dissertation submitted to the Faculty of Law University of Pretoria, in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree Masters of Law (LLM in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa). Role selenu v pozdně hydrotermální fázi příbramského uranového rajónu / Role of the selenium in the late hydrothermal phase of the Příbram uranium region

Škácha, Pavel January 2015 (has links)
Příbram uranium and base-metal district is the most important vein uranium district in the Czech Republic. The main ore was represented by uraninite there and the occurrences of selenium mineralization are directly connected to it. The presence of selenides was not confirmed during the mining activities. Major development of the uranium-carbonate mineralization was found in the Bytíz deposit in the central part of the uranium district. All known occurrences of selenides have been found from this area only so far. Antimonselite, athabascaite, bellidoite (?), berzelianite, brodtkorbite, bukovite, clausthalite, dzharkenite, eskebornite, eucairite, giraudite, hakite, cadmoselite, klockmannite, naumannite, permingeatite, sabatierite, tiemannite and umangite, as well as the new unnamed selenium analogue of chalcostibite were newly identified from the dump material from the shafts No. 16 and 11A. The extremely Hg-rich hakite, which contains up to 30 wt.% of Hg, is the most remarkable mineral from the tetrahedrite group of minerals. The pertinence of the Hg-hakite was verified by means of the transmission electron microscopy. Uncommon recently formed supergene selenium association is represented by molybdomenite, munakataite and piretite. A large scale of associated minerals was found in association with...

Média v hybridní válce: prokremelské weby jako nástroj ruské propagandy v ČR / Media in Hybrid War: Pro-Kremlin websites as tools of the Russian propaganda in the Czech Republic

Potočár, Radovan January 2017 (has links)
Diploma Thesis Media in Hybrid War: Pro-Kremlin websites as tools of the Russian propaganda in the Czech Republic analyzes Pro-kremlin websites in the Czech Republic by the method of thematic discourse analysis. The spread of propaganda through the internet, currently the fastest growing media, has become one of the crucial elements of hybrid wars. The first part of the thesis represents the theoretical basis for the second, practically oriented part of the thesis. After a thorough analysis of the relevant theoretical background of hybrid wars and propaganda in the first chapter, the thesis focuses on the operation of Pro-Kremlin propaganda on the Internet, with a focus on the characteristics of this propaganda in the Czech Republic, in the second chapter. Consequently, the third chapter presents the methodology of the analytical part of the thesis, the selection of data for analysis and the definition of analytical categories. The following fourth chapter focuses on the thematic discourse analysis itself and interpretation of its findings. The analysis is a study of the discourse through which Pro-Kremlin websites construct an alternative world, where peaceful and at the same time militarily and economically strong Russia is the only alternative of the decomposing imperialist West. Besides, the...

Akademická mobilita: Motivace a výsledky případové studie FSV Praha a Brno / Academic Mobility: Motivations and Outcomes Case study of the Faculties of Social Sciences of Prague and Brno

Gautier, Vincent January 2018 (has links)
Since the beginning of the century, the European Union wants to catch up its lateness in the field of the Higher Education and in the research area. Through diverse programmes and new institutions it is trying to remedy to the problem. The establishment of the Bologna Process and the Erasmus mobility programme helped the Member States to find a solution. Concerning the mobility, most of the studies have a tendency to focus on the student mobility and its impact on the career of the young generation but very few are focused the teaching and research one. This case study aims at focusing on this type of mobility, the one of the academics, and see what are the motivations and the outcomes for the academics of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Prague and Brno. Finally this study based on the respondents' answers and on the previous studies shows us that there was not a big evolution made on the side of the academic institutions. Postoje občanů v pohraničí jako indikátory geopolitické reality - případová studie České republiky / Attitudes of border dwellers as indicators of the evolution of geopolitical reality in states - the case of the Czech Republic

Aldridge, Gregory Luke January 2020 (has links)
This thesis aims to understand, in the case of the Czech people living along the borders, the extent to which they are, and have become, more "internationally minded" in recent decades. Three theoretical approaches to understand the attitudes of those living along the boundaries are identified as the Realist Securitisation, Liberal Openness and Bordering as a Process paradigms. Descriptions are presented of the historical and demographic nature of the Czech borderlands as well as developments in Czech politics and attitudes to foreigners in the last two decades. Detailed regression analysis at the level of 6,300 individual municipalities is undertaken to empirically test the theoretical paradigms and to control for other factors so as to understand the specific impact of the boundary on the attitudes of those living alongside it. The formation of attitudes is a complex process in which history still seems important and not all interactions with foreigners are seen as improving attitudes towards them. However, against a backdrop of lower support for EU integration and greater concern over immigration in the Czech Republic as a whole, open borders since accession to the EU have coincided with border dwellers becoming in many, but not all, cases less Eurosceptic and less opposed to migrants than is...
