Land reform as strategic approach to enhancing people's right to food - fact or fiction?

This diploma thesis focuses on the interrelationship between the land reform programme in South Africa and the objectives of the right to food. It primarily purposes to answer following question: Does the land reform programme sufficiently support the objectives of the right to food?. In order to interrogate this question effectively a methodology connecting the concepts of the right to food, land reform programme and sustainable rural livelihood was developed. Developed methodology and methods were subsequently applied and tested on selected projects of land redistribution in South Africa. The key question was addressed through the analytical approach assessing the perceived degree of success of the interrelationship.

Institutional Arbitration The thesis deals with fundamental issues relating to both institutional arbitration and also arbitration in general. The aim of this thesis is to explain the basic aspects of arbitration and analyze and evaluate recent legal changes made in the field of arbitration in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The thesis is composed of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. After an introduction, where I outline the reasons that led me to choose this topic and I set the objectives of this thesis, followed the first chapter, which acquaint the reader with the basic institutes of arbitration. Its parts discusses about definition of arbitration, its history, the four main theoretical concepts of arbitration and the different types of the arbitration. Subsequently this chapter defines arbitrability and arbitration agreement (fundamental conditions for arbitration). The conclusion of this chapter is dedicated to the principles of arbitration and the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of arbitration. The second chapter is specifically concerned with the recent changes in the regulation of arbitration in the Czech Republic. 1 Abstract The thesis whose subject is Comparation of legislation of National Parks in the Czech Republic and the Republic of South Africa deals In detail with the legislation of national parks, especially in comparison of the Czech legal system and the legal system of South Africa, but also with the international law and European Union law. The aim is mainly to analyze in detail the individual instruments and institutions that govern the environmental law in relation to national parks and to acquaint the readers with scope of nature conversation in Europe and Africa. The thesis also serves and explains the basic terms related to the territorial regulation of national parks and protected areas (prior to national parks) on both continents. National parks are the most important type of protected area; they are declare by the state and in the scope of nature conversation national parks are the most crucial mean of conversation. The regulation of national parks is embodied in the laws of individual states; in the Czech Republic it is the Act on the protection of nature and landscape of 1992 while in South Africa it is the Protected Areas Act of 2003. The contribution of diploma thesis is to clarify what the logistics center actually is, its function, role, providing services and bringing benefits not only to economic but also non-economic entities in its vicinity. Start of construction of logistics centers occurred in the Czech Republic and Slovakia at different times, which could be caused by many different factors, but we can simply say that the construction was started with the arrival of foreign investors in the market and lack of storage and distribution network here in the meantime occurring. Central European market is still due to relatively cheap labor attractive place for the construction of logistics centers for investors, because of this there is still the ongoing construction. Market Characteristics of Czech Republic and Slovakia is primarily focused on describing the situation in both markets, layout of logistics centers in countries and also the performance of developers operating in the market. Development of the construction of logistics centers in both markets can be divided roughly into three periods-the pre-crisis known as boom years, a period of financial crisis and post-crisis period marked as the revival phase.

1 Abstract The aim of this thesis is to explore the institute of administrative judiciary in the Czech Republic and the Republic of Poland using the comparative method. Its purpose lies in proving traditional similarity of administrative judiciary in both countries which potentially allows mutual influencing in different areas of legislation, application of law and jurisprudence. The work is divided into nine parts. In Chapter 1 of this thesis the author focuses on defining the concept of administrative judiciary, how it is comprehended in both analysed countries, its purpose and function. In this part administrative judiciary is distinguished from other forms of judicial reviews of public administration and it is outlined here which of these forms cannot be considered as a part of administrative judiciary. Administrative judiciary is formally characterized as judicial procedure (in technical meaning) whose purpose lies in the control over public administration and protection of civil rights. In Chapter 2 the author describes the development of administrative judiciary in both countries. The aim of this thesis is to identify significant weaknesses of political party funding system in the Czech Republic, and to suggest possible improvements of the system. Knowledge acquired in the first part of the thesis, which deals with the theoretical basis of political party funding, is used to analyse the applicable legislation. This part of the thesis first of all describes the legal framework of political parties, the principles and goals of political party funding, and possible approaches to the funding; the most space is devoted to one of the possible approaches, regulatory measures, which is divided on the basis of supply side (state a private funding) and demand side (mainly campaign spending regulation). The Czech legislation is not only analysed in general and using the theoretical basis, but is also compared with the system adopted by the Federal Republic of Germany. The hypothesis is that the German law is a good example for the Czech Republic in the field of party financing, for the Federal Republic of Germany has been a developed democratic state of law for a longer uninterrupted period of time, and was one of the first countries in the world to introduce state funding of political parties. Práce dále popisuje praktické problémy, které se mohou vyskytnout při přípravě strategických dokumentů, jednání s Evropskou komisí, se žadateli, vyhodnocování žádostí a realizaci projektů. Dále upozorňuje na příležitosti podnikatelských subjektů v ČR v oblasti ochrany životního prostředí a načrtává rovněž možný vývoj čerpání evropských dotací v nejbližších letech.

The thesis is focused on the functioning of pension systems in Visegrad countries, especially on the importance of the particular funded pillars within these systems. The whole pension system is analysed for each country, including the general comparison with focusing on the funded pillars and their products. The comparison is based on selected criteria. This thorough comparison then helps to form the suggestions for funded pillars in Czech Republic, which could lead up to improvement of the current situation regarding the social security in our country.
