The European Union support tools and their impact on the small and medium-sized Enterprises in Czech and Slovak Republic

Small and medium - sized enterprises play an important role in the economy of the European Union and the global economy as whole. The European Union offers many of the support programs for SMEs. This diploma thesis deals with the description and analysis of important EU support tools for SMEs in Czech Republic and Slovakia. The goal of the diploma thesis is to analyze these tools, impact on SMEs, analyze the participation of the Czech and Slovak SMEs within these programs, their interest, do statistics, compare the both states and based on above mentioned analysis and questionnaire survey on chosen sample of small and medium - sized enterprises, some recommendations for the Slovak and Czech SMEs are done and the conclusion about the situation in this sphere is determined.

This Diploma thesis characterizes the development of exports of the Czech Republic to neighboring countries (Germany, Slovakia, Poland) in the years 1999-2012. Emphasis is placed on examining the impact of the economic crisis on the development of time series, the identification of factors affecting export the Czech Republic and appreciation of interdependence between the Czech Republic's exports and economic development of neighboring countries. A similar analysis is also performed for the Slovak Republic. The theoretical part defines the basic terms that are related to foreign trade. There are the reasons, functions, importance of foreign trade and the factors affecting, further the theory of external trade and selected studies that deal with this issue.

This thesis focuses on the depictions of Czech and Czechoslovak presidents in caricature. It deals with the timespan between the foundation of Czechoslovakia and the present, within which it examines the cartoon representations of presidents. The thesis deals with the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic, the Second Czechoslovak Republic, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, the period from 1945 to 1948 (also known as the Third Czechoslovak Republic), the communist regime of the 1950s and 1960s, the Prague Spring, the era of normalization and the Velvet Revolution. It aims to describe the reasons why and how each president is depicted in one way or another within a given era, or in some cases why he is not depicted at all. The thesis pays special attention to the issues of freedom of the press and speech and also to the laws against the defamation of the head of state, and sees them as direct factors influencing the depictions. The thesis further aims to place the cartoons in their socio-political context and deduce from it what was the public perception of each head of state in the various stages of our history. The thesis examines the issues of economic security and research the motives of investors and the factors that influence investors, when they deciding about entering the market of another country, and the theoretical influence of economic security on foreign investments. Subsequently, this relation is examined in three economies: Czech Republic, Russia and China. For this purpose are done qualitative and regression analysis and are formulated recommendations for im-proving economic security and inflow of foreign investment.

Regulace lobbingu v zemích Visegrádské čtyřky / Regulation of lobbying in the Visegrad Four

The subject of this thesis is regulation of lobbying in the countries of the Visegrad Group (V4) -- specifically statutory regulation of lobbying. The work gives a comprehensive overview of the development of regulation of lobbying in V4 member states from the very beginning until now. Main aim is to answer questions related to lobbying such as: "is there a lobbying regulation in V4 members", "what is the quality of that regulation" and "is there any common signs shared across the national regulation of lobbying". To achieve the desired objective thesis uses descriptive, comparative and analytical methods. Thesis consists of two main logical units, which are divided into five chapters, an introduction and a conclusion. The first unit contains three introductory chapters. This section is devoted to the history of lobbying, the definition of lobbying and theoretical concepts of regulation of lobbying. The second unit is completely dedicated to the legal regulation of lobbying in the V4 countries. Part of this unit is also the final comparison and analysis of the legal regulation of lobbying in these countries and answers to questions mentioned in the introduction.

Prostorová dynamika obyvatel v České republice, 1989 - 2007 / Spatial Dynamics of the Population in the Czech Republic, 1989 - 2007

3 Abstract The aim of the thesis is to describe, analyse and discuss the development of spatial population dynamics in the Czech Republic between 1989 and 2007. Demographic structure and migration, the two components of spatial population dynamics, are analysed using two spatial dimensions, the urban-suburban-rural gradient and the core-periphery region distinction, using quantitative analyses, including gravity regression modelling of migration. The analysis primarily focuses on domestic migration as the main vehicle of spatial population dynamics. It discusses the structure, determinants, and temporal evolution of migration and its consequences on the population structure in different spatial categories. The thesis indicates that suburbanisation has recently become the main factor influencing Czech spatial population dynamics. The key factor determining migration destination is the social status of migrants, whereas age has only secondary importance. However, since Czechs are not very mobile, population dispersal is less large-scale than in Western-Europe. This explains why recent domestic migration patterns have had only a small measurable influence on the social or demographic structures of the population across spatial categories.
