This thesis examines the topic of the management of tourism destinations. The main aim is to summarize the potential of tourism in Hradec Králové region on the basis of the performed analysis and suggest a strategy for further tourism development. The first part deals with basic definitions and theories of destination management and marketing. The second part is devoted to tourism in Hradec Králové Region. It includes an analysis of the key factors of tourism development, an analysis of the current situation of tourism in the region, a SWOT analysis, and possibilities for further tourism development.

Analytical part describes the current situation in the hotel, current communication and marketing mix, including analysis of occupational and general environment, marketing research, SWOT analysis and risk analysis. In the last part I will try to propose a new communication mix to improve the situation in the hotel and suggestions resulting from risk analysis.

The objective of the diploma thesis is to capture the phenomenon of internationalization of second housing in Czechia using the example of Dutch investment in tourism and recreation with a focus on new recreational localities and their impacts on the destinations. The development of this phenomenon has occurred in Czechia since 1990s in the context of the changing geopolitical and geo-economic situation. An important role plays also the offer on real estate market and environmentally attractive localities in the country. Recreational localities owned and used mainly by foreign (Dutch) clients for individual recreation and commercial purposes are established in areas with high tourist-recreational potential. They become an integral part of the physical and social environment and their specific features change its structure and links. Their benefits and risks depend on the nature of recreational localities projects and the target destinations as well. The goal of master's thesis is to map new and upcoming trends in tourism in developed markets and possibilities of its utilization on domestic market in the practice of tour operator, where the author works, for its long term and sustainable development. The theoretical part of this thesis is focused on specifications and differences of tour operators and travel agencies. To make it complete, specifications of other subjects of tourism are placed in attachment, same for the general description of the position of Czech Republic in the world's tourism. The practical part contains detailed analysis of the on-line portal Invia.cz, successfulness analysis of tours organized by the tour operator, where the author works, recommendations for its growth and development and possible limits and risks, which it is exposed to. It is completed by an inquiry, which supports or neglects deducted conclusions and it brings additional notes for trouble-free business of tour operator. The result of the thesis is detailed analysis of activities of specific tour operator and specific recommendations for its planned expansion, which are supported by a research.

Tourism is expected to be the world's future. The most important aspects of tourism are particularly the effects on GDP, employment, capital investment and the balance of payments. The important role of tourism in European economies is acknowledged by the European Union itself, which seeks to create a common tourism policy. The purpose of this work is to define the EU tourism policy, primarily in the terms of legal instruments and regional policy, and determine whether and to what extent that policy has its impact on tourism in the Czech Republic. The first chapter will explain the basic concepts and definitions of tourism and its economic importance for the economy. The second section will describe the development of European tourism policy; for better understanding this part will also define EU institutions responsible for tourism, their competencies and used instruments to promote tourism, including the Structural Funds. The third part of the thesis will provide basic information about legislation and strategic documents in tourism in the Czech Republic, but the central part of the chapter will be devoted to the influence of the European Union to the tourism policy in the Czech Republic. The fourth chapter presents the EU's regional policy as a tool to influence the tourism policy in the Czech Republic and its regions.

The practical part focuses on Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus. A main part of this paper is personal research carried out on travel agencies, journalists and end users. It is based on survey research.

The aim of the diploma thesis "Promotion of internet travel agency" is to analyze the communication mix of travel agency Invia.cz and to formulate proposals for its improvement. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter defines internet as a medium and the possibilities of online communication. The second chapter describes the specific characteristics of tourism marketing and the expanded marketing mix. The third chapter analyzes survey results about consumer behavior in selecting and purchasing holiday. The fourth chapter introduces the company Invia.cz and focuses on its online and offline promotion. Based on the analysis and on the survey results, proposals for communication mix improvement are submitted.
