This Master Thesis deals with the issue of crime and the perception of safety on the example of a housing estate area. In this case, it is a case study of the housing estate Černý Most. The basic principle is to provide a subjective perspective on the perceptions of safety of the inhabitants in the investigated area and to monitor the issue of what personal experience these residents realistically have with crime. The Thesis also seeks to identify the places that residents consider to be dangerous for them, which evoke the feeling of fear in them and to find out how their behavior changes in these places. Where applicable, to identify the similarities of these places, to trace if there are similar characteristics or whether it is the social and physical environment of the settlement itself that adds to the increased sense of fear. There was also found a large number of chipped and polished industry (450 and 456 artefacts), concentrated mainly in three sunken features interpreted as workshops. Production activity is proven beside fragments of the blades and flakes also by different kinds of sandstone abraders as well as drilling cores. The most important raw material in the collection of chipped industry is represented by the silicite from glacigenic sediments (48 %) and Bavarian Jurrasic chert (38 %). Sídliště Traktorového závodu v Minsku: prostor utváření identity Bělorusů v období pozdního stalinismu a poststalinismu. / Place Of Formation Of The Soviet Man: Traktormakers' Neighborhood In Minsk In Late Stalinism and Postsocialism

Linitskaya, Natallia January 2021 (has links)
Neighborhood in Minsk built for the workers of the tractor plant became a site of creation of soviet man. Architecture of socialist realism itself played a positive role: it played in tune with postwar longing for peaceful life in privacy, with family with comfortable structure of enclosed blocks, and at the same time created a background and scenery of life that elevated man through classicist image. Village youth came to the site driven by the postwar hunger and need to reconstruct their lives together with the country. They became workers, appropriated shop floor practice and were life-long recipients of the soviet distribution system that included housing as the main resource. People learned to live and work for future, "when communism arrives", withdrawing to privacy from the slogans, not paying attention to the latter but in that very moment rejecting the sphere of public life its real power, denying possibility to change.

Rezidenční spokojenost domácností bytových domů v pražských lokalitách - role občanské vybavenosti / Residential satisfaction of households in tenement houses in localities of Prague - the role of civic amenities

Bursa, Otakar January 2018 (has links)
Residential satisfaction belongs to important elements of human's satisfaction with life. It is created by the unique set of different components to which the accessibility and quality of civic amenities in a neighbourhood may also be included. Nevertheless, the importance of this factor used to be underestimated and the real connexion between residential satisfaction and the presence of civic amenities has not come out so far (Swindell, Kelly 2005). Therefore, the diploma thesis focuses on the qualitative- analytical research of residential satisfaction in two differently served Prague's localities with the aim to deepen the current knowledge of this issue. The results show that the presence of civic amenities in the neighbourhood has a significant effect in creating residential satisfaction which is comparable to the quality of housing and neighbourhood features. However, this relationship is partly influenced by the assigned importance of services' presence that especially varies according to the locality type (housing estate or suburban) and the position of household in a life cycle. Keywords: residential satisfaction, civic amenities, Prague, housing estate, suburb
