Kysela, Vladimír Unknown Date (has links)
The diploma thesis concerns the replenishment of the urban mosaic of Frýdek-Místek regional town in the Czech Republic. A new local vision for the Riviéra housing estate is to be set. The intervention area spirals around the brownfield of a former spinning factory, which is included into the modernist urban area. The brownfield neighbours with the Janáček park, which is standing out in the surroundings in the means of the articulation and condition of the public space. The fenced areal, on the other hand, forms a barrier to the urban life. The aspiration of the project is to unscramble the potential of the unbuilt area within the vivid part of the town.

Regenerace panelových sídlišť / Regeneration of panel housing estates

Lácha, Ondřej January 2008 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to find answers to following questions: how to quantify costs of regeneration of selected panel housing estates and how to plan the process itself. It is necessary to plan, or phase these very demanding activities because available resources are limited. We can observe a number of deficiencies in panel housing estates (for example: lack of parking space, unsatisfactory capacity in education etc.). Postponing regeneration may cause not only higher financial demands, but also social, technical, and environmental problems, and it is therefore necessary to solve these deficiencies as soon as possible. Based on a comparison with already regenerated areas and standards for technical and civic amenities, standards of housing for selected panel housing estates will be defined. It will be followed by a comparative analysis of a current state of panel housing estates with housing standards. This comparison results in a definition of requirements and quantification of costs required for regeneration of a given territory.

Společensko-kulturní centrum s radnicí v Kohoutovicích / Socio-cultural centre with townhall for the district Brno-Kohoutovice

Křivánek, Martin January 2016 (has links)
Kohoutovíce is my interpretation of urban district moving on the edge of village and cold war urban development. Duality who are giving into context grew old buildings and cold war development as a place with exception identity. Identity based on mutual disharmony forming a function unit when one part complements other. Action causes a reaction. Culture Social center with the Town Hall as the main bearer of the idea of mutual penetration between coexistence looking for its history and future. Instead of overlap, which aims to reflect both the present and future needs and significantly cities and boroughs, necessary for quality of living and use. The project implements existing hall located on the border of the original buildings, but also in direct contact with another typical feature of the whole territory, and panel buildings. Duality, otherness, diversity as incompatible interaction forming a single center of gravity in one place. Persona grata.

Archeologie a architektura merojských sídlišť / Archaeology and architecture of Meroitic settlements

Vrtal, Vlastimil January 2011 (has links)
Meroitic settlements had long remained on the periphery of scholarly interests, although there was still only a limited degree of our understanding of Meroitic society, economy and daily life. During past few decades, archaeological research carried out at many sites in the modern Republic of the Sudan brought to light new information on the form, function and dynamics of Meroitic urban centers. We have become better acquainted with principles involved in their planning and with architecture of civic buildings, and perhaps most importantly, with architecture of ordinary houses. There were obvious differences between settlements in different regions of the Meroitic kingdom, that seemingly stemmed from local ways of land exploitation and state control of local population. Yet these were only few of many influential factors. The data obtained by study of Meroitic settlements can be further used to estimate Meroitic population or evaluate the form and degree of social stratification.
