Panelstories: etnografie (re)produkce prostoru panelového sídliště Černý Most / Panelstories: Ethnography of Space (Re)production at Černý Most Modernist Housing Estate

Lehečka, Michal January 2021 (has links)
Panelstories: Ethnography of Space (Re)production at Černý Most Modernist Housing Estate. Mgr. Michal Lehečka Abstract: The dissertation focuses on spatial environment of socialist modernist housing estates. Based on data collected during a 10year long fieldwork in multiple modernist housing locations, it explores dominant ways of spatial (re)production of Černý Most housing estate in Prague. Thanks to its ownership and ethnic structure Černý Most represents an ideal fieldwork site where both long term and contemporary phenomena resulting from the post-socialist transformation can be detected, described and analysed. After 1989, former socialist modernist cities have undergone a plethora of political, economical and social changes and disruptions. These changes continuously uncover an ongoing interaction between the initial egalitarian and collectivist heritage of the housing estate as well as its ambiguous and fragmented property structure. Spaces of the estates are continuously (re)produced through various manifestations of actors' territorial claims. The spatial changeability is best described by Henri Lefebvre's notion of socio-material (re)production of space and his widely used concept of spatial triad (Lefebvre 1991). Transformation of housing estates is therefore (re)produced through (in)visible...

Faraonci: místo, prostor a lokální identita obyvatel sídliště Stodůlky / Pharaohs: place, space and local identity of the inhabitants of housing estate Stodůlky

Lehečka, Michal January 2013 (has links)
In my thesis, I made a qualitative analysis of narrative biographic inteviews and participant observation of the inhabitants of Prague housing estate Stodůlky, in order to find out the way they conceptualize their locality as a place or a space. I explore how the narrators put themselves in the framework of their lived locality and how they divide this locality. Drawing on a similar theorethical distinctions of place and space introduced by Eric Hirsch and Maruška Svašek, I examined if the narrators conceptualisations make evidence of a socially negotiated local identity and if it is the case, how the housing estate Stodůlky emerges as "home". Hirsch's distinction means that time and space appears only through the perceptions of place. In accord with Svašek I dealt with three different forms of identity - territorialized, deterritorialized a reterritorialized identity. These three forms treats identity in rather symbolic way.

Doma na sídlišti? Lokální identita a identifikace s místem v odlišných typech městského prostředí / At home at the large housing estate? Local identity and place identification in different types of urban environment

Veselý, Martin January 2014 (has links)
Martin Veselý At home at the large housing estate? Local identity and place identification in different types of urban environment The thesis is concerned with the question of local identity and place identification in urban environment on the example of Prague's Southern Town representing a large, centrally planned housing estate, and "old" Vršovice as an example of a traditional city quarter. The author distinguishes two theoretical-methodological approaches to the analysis of urban environment. The first approach is ontological-historical, ethic perspective describing the city with the use of theoretical devices of urbanism and phenomenology of architecture. The second approach - anthropological - is an emic approach studying the interpretation of a place by social agents. The author shows on numerous examples, how do the people identify with a place and what is the role of the physical attributes of the place and its memory in the process of place identification. The relation between ontological-historical and anthropological perspective is according to the author dialogic and he is looking for points of intersection. He shows that the consequence of one-sided way of interpretation is insufficient understanding for place identity. In other words, it is not able to answer convincingly the...

Centra občanské vybavenosti panelových sídlišť / Public facility centers in panel housing estates

Zvolská, Tereza January 2019 (has links)
Public facility centers were built at every housing estate as a background for a quality life, but they are not given much attention nowadays. At the same time, their central location, certain architectural qualities and load-bearing structure are good input attributes for the site's development. In my diploma thesis, I chose one such complex in Brno-Řečkovice to show on how to revitalize such objects. I make it a full-fledged part of the city district and at the same time a space that cerate its center.

Pavlacký, Matěj January 2012 (has links)
This thesis examines Late Minoan Settlements in Crete that were destroyed or abandoned due to the consequences of the Santorini volcano eruption. A summary of geological history of Crete, Thera and the surrounding area is given in the first part. The next chapter sums up the research in the fields of relative and mainly absolute chronology, of which scientists have not yet been able to provide a convincing calendar date for the eruption of the volcano nor a possible fixed absolute chronology of the general Later Bronze Age not only in the Aegean. The development of the Santorini Volcano eruption in the Late Minoan IA period (LM IA) is described. According to the research, this eruption must have caused earthquakes and tsunamis. The possible impact on the near island of Crete, its inhabitants and settlements, mainly in the coastal area of north-northeast part of the island, is also discussed.
