Missa Salve Regina

Waschka, Rodney, II, 1958- 05 1900 (has links)
Missa Salve Regina, a five movement work, is approximately twenty minutes in duration. The work is a setting of the Ordinary of the Mass in Latin with additional text in the vernacular drawn from the writings of Miguel de Unamuno. The composition is scored for four speaking soloists (SATB), mixed chorus (SATB, percussion (player 1: tam tam, three suspended cymbal, bass drum, three tom-toms, glockenspiel, maracas, and marimba), and digital synthesizer optionally on tape. The Missa Salve Regina is concerned with the spiritual implications of the mass and its ritual. The music is composed for both concert presentation and use within the liturgy and deals with the conflict between faith and reason in the human mind, discussed at length, by Unamuno.

Are You a Good Witch or a Bad Witch? The Importance of Object Relations in Modern Assessment

Weber, Katherine Mary 08 1900 (has links)
The Social Cognition and Object Relations Scale—Global (SCORS-G) is a relatively new scoring system for the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) that provides information about an individual's functioning in a variety of domains, including intrapsychic and interpersonal. Participants in this archival study had been administered a variety of measures as part of a routine clinical assessment, including the TAT, Rorschach, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2, and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale. Selected TAT stories were rescored using current SCORS-G scoring criteria. This dissertation evaluated the factor structure of the SCORS-G in an outpatient sample with a principal component analysis (PCA), finding support for a two-component solution. The SCORS-G was then compared to well-established measures of personality functioning, social cognition, and object relations using correlational analyses, with mixed results. Lastly, support was found for using the SCORS-G as a tool for discriminating individuals with a history of violent or problematic relationships from those without such a history. Implications for card selection based on card pull and the impact of bland protocols were explored.

Tématicko apercepční test u uživatelů drog / Thematic Apperception test in drug users

Slavíčková, Tereza January 2012 (has links)
SLAVÍČKOVÁ, T. Tématicko apercepční test u uživatelů drog. Pedagogická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy v Praze, 2012. 140 s.

Škála SCORS - hodnocení zpracování sociálních informací a objektních vztahů u mužů s patologickou sexuální agresivitou / Assessment of Processing of Social Information and Object Relations of Men with Pathological Sexual Aggression

Táborská, Lucie January 2013 (has links)
ANGLICKÝ ABSTRAKT Thesis Title: The SCORS Scale - An Assessment of Processing of Social Information and Object Relations of Men with Pathological Sexual Aggression Author: Mgr. Bc. Lucie Táborská Department: Department of Psychology Thesis Advisor: PhDr. Tereza Soukupová, Ph.D. Email of Thesis Advisor: tereza.soukupova@pedf.cuni.cz This empirical Thesis Essay titled The SCORS Scale - An Assessment of Processing of Social Information and Object Relations of Men with Pathological Sexual Aggression focuses on study of social skills of men with the diagnosis mentioned. The theoretical portion of the Thesis centers around the subject of sexual deviation as such, namely around pathological sexual aggression and projective methods; in particular, the TAT method and its specific SCORS scoring system. The fundamental research question was whether or not the answers of sample respondents would fall into the sphere of the pathological. Furthermore, the Thesis explores whether the differences between individual segments of the scale are significant or, on the contrary, corresponding. Subsequent examination of the phenomena follows. There were 20 participants in the survey, the individuals belonging to three different psychiatric asylums. D. Westen's SCORS was the method chosen for acquisition of data. The research has...

Empatie u mladistvých delikventů / Empathy of Juvenile Delinquents

Barabášová, Klaudia January 2018 (has links)
This thesis copes with the research of empathy of deliquent youngsters-specifically their emotional and congitive part, it also evaluates the egoism or altruism of these individuals and their compassion level. The main purpose of this thesis is therefore to find out, what is the level and structure of empathy in these deliquent youngsters. The data was acquired by a specific TAT test and was evaluated according to the five subscales of SCORS ,which resemblance to empathy is proven in this work. Moreover, the content analysis of the acquired TAT protocols was carried out. The results of protocol evaluation according to SCORS system show low,yet not pathological values of emotional and cognitive empathy of youngster deliquents, additionally, they show their mainly egoistic motives across their social interactions as well as a pathological low level of compassion with others. In this thesis, the results, describing the level of cognitive and emotional empathy, are being compared to the Smith's theory (2006), which copes with the possibility of having a disorder caused by general lack of empathy in youngster deliquents. TAT protocols of respondents were also subjects of the content analysis, and its result show for example uncertainity in the external manifestation of respondents, "black and white"...

Zkoumání sociální kognice a objektních vztahů u osob se schizofrenií / Assessment of Social Cognition and Object Realtions of Patients with Schizophrenia

Smolová, Alžběta January 2015 (has links)
The thesis examines social cognition and object relations in patients with schizophrenia using Thematic Apperception Test evaluated by SCORS. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with schizophrenia, Thematic Apperception Test and its interpretation systems (especially Westen's SCORS). Attention is also paid to the theoretical background of social cognition and object relations in patients with schizophrenia. The aim of the study is to verify the assumption that patients with schizophrenia will reach pathological scores in SCORS. The study also explores the relationships between different dimensions of SCORS in this clinical population. The results indicate that patients with schizophrenia have numerous deficits in social cognition and object relations, as measured by SCORS. Significantly lower scores (that belong or are very close to pathology) were found in a total of five SCORS's dimensions. In the remaining three dimensions patients with schizophrenia achieved below-average results. Cross-correlations among SCORS's dimensions and factor analysis results which revealed a three component structure of SCORS in patients with schizophrenia are also discussed. Keywords: Schizophrenia, social cognition, object relations, SCORS, Thematic Apperception Test, correlation analysis, factor analysis.

Projektivní interview u onkologicky nemocných dětí / Using Projective Interview with oncology deseased children

Klasová, Karolína January 2015 (has links)
The thesis focuses on a social development of 10-12 years old oncologically ill children, more specifically on a social cognition and relations to objects. Projective interview test evaluated with a SCORS scale has been chosen as a main scientific tool. Theoretical part describes a relationship between an oncological disease and a psychosocial development. It also focuses on an early-adolescence as described in a developmental psychology, brings an explanation of a Projective interview and Westen's interpretative system - Social cognition and object relations scale SCORS. The second part of the thesis consists of a research which verifies the hypothesis that possible differences in the test results of healthy and oncologically ill children could be found. There have not been found any significant differences in a social development of oncologicaly ill children and a control group of healthy children on a quantitative level of statistical analysis. The results of the research can not be situated on a pathological scale and can be thus considered in a norm. Qualitative analysis has discovered differences in a perception of a family, school environment, friends and emotions. Keywords: Oncological diseases at children, psycho-oncology, Projective inteview, SCORS, social deficit and somatically ill persons
