Singles - (ne)sdílení vztahovosti / Singles - (not) sharing relationship

Pavienská, Marika January 2017 (has links)
This work deals with interpersonal relationships in all their komplexity including the absence of these relationships. We try to interpret the ways of singles' lives in today's world. The aim of this work is to point out several aspects of interpersonal mutuality, which is represented by eight respondents, who live as the singles. The expressions stated in this work refer to problems of this increasing group of people. The work is a probe into life of present- day single people, who live without partner, without sharing home together. The increase amount of single people makes us to ask many questions. In these theme we try to look for andresearch the motives of these people, the reasons for accentuating the freedom, their own borderlines and we try to look for impacts, which can influence making decision of single people. Keywords: singles, mutuality, isolation, freedom, borderline, marriage, family, home, self- giving, interpersonality.

Quantum Chemical Investigation Of Reactions Of Atomic Carbon With Water And Methanol

Dede, Yavuz 01 November 2007 (has links) (PDF)
Reactions of singlet (1S and 1D) and triplet (3P) carbon atoms with water, and 1D and 3P carbon atoms with methanol were studied computationally. In the water and methanol systems, the carbon vapor containing a mixture of C(1S), C(1D), and C(3P) atoms, is predicted to react by primarily interacting with the oxygen, OH bond and CH bond of the substrate mainly with the 1D state. While C(1S) was proven to be unreactive C(3P) can hardly be supported to be reactive, and can safely be defined as unreactive. The major product, CO forms as a result of oxygen abstraction, which is observed as a fast, energetically quite favorable process. The scheme of this oxygen abstraction is promising to be applicable to substrates with the general formula R1-O-R2 i.e. water, alcohols, and ethers. OH insertion, both for water and methanol, yields trappable carbenes / the carbene being a key species on the distribution of the end products. Water matrix trapping the carbene opens the path to the formation of formaldehyde / and exhibits a prototype reaction for the formation of dialkoxymethanes. Gas phase product spectrum from the reactions are broader, due to the accessibility of the routes originating from the otherwise trapped intermediates / and the excess energy of the reactions being carried by them. In the condensed phase the very early and rapid reactions seem to have chance, the subsequent rearrangements are hard to occur. The conclusions thus far apply to the reactions in the gas phase as well as in condensed phases involving inert matrices / and the experimental isolation of the species is highly dependent on the ability of the medium to trap the intermediates via effective transfer of excess energy. Due to the large excess energies of intermediates involved, subsequent reactions are fast / of the order 1013 s-1 from kinetic rate calculations. In the absence of efficient transfer of non-fixed energies to the surrounding medium, all of the reaction paths will conclude with irreversible dissociation reactions. Plausible mechanisms for all the experimentally observed products are predicted. The results are in agreement with the available experimental data.

Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Attributes of Never-Married Singles

Jagers, J. Lee 12 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this exploratory study was to compare various attributes of never-married single men and women to married men and women. The Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis, the Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behavior (FIRO-B) Scale, and the Personal Skills Map were completed by 138 never-married singles and 139 married volunteers, both male and female. Volunteers were predominantly Caucasian, Protestant, active in their churches, and college educated. Ages ranged from 30 to 39 years. Married volunteers were married only once for five years or more. A step-wise discriminant analysis was run on each of the three instruments to determine which variables were significant across groupings. Summary conclusions were made showing that never-married men and women were more socially energetic but less expressive and responsive than were married men and women. Single men, as compared to married men, were also more passive and saw themselves in a less favorable light. Single women, when compared to married women, were also more dominant. Single women, when compared to single men, were more relaxed and more assertive, but more critical and punitive. An implication for counselors is that never-married single people may need help with relating at a deeper level of vulnerability and personableness. Single men may need help in interpersonal assertiveness as well as in personal openness and transparency. Single women may need help in resolving some of their hostilities. Further research is needed to explore the possible factors contributing to the guardedness of singles, the passivity of men, and the hostility of women. More work needs to be done in the area of causality.

Quantum-chemical Study Of Geometrical And Electronic Structures Of Aromatic Five-membered Heterocyclic Oligomers In The Ground And Lowest Singlet Excited States

Oksuz, Nevin 01 September 2004 (has links) (PDF)
The nature of the ground state and the first (lowest) singlet excited state geometrical conformations and electronic transitions in the aromatic five-membered heterocyclic oligomers &ndash / oligothiophenes (nT), oligofurans (nF), and oligopyrroles (nP)- containing up to six monomer units (total of 18 molecules) were explored using several computational methodologies. Geometry optimizations were carried out at Austin Model 1 (AM1), Restricted Hartree-Fock (RHF/6-31G*), and Density Functional Theory (DFT, B3LYP/6-31G*) levels for the ground-state conformations of these structurally well-defined heterocyclic oligomers. The Configuration Interaction Singles (CIS) method with the 6-31G* basis set was chosen in computation of the optimal geometry of the lowest singlet excited state. Lowest singlet excitation S1&szlig / S0 energies were calculated using the Zerner&rsquo / s Intermediate Neglect of Differential Overlap for Spectroscopy (ZINDO/S), CIS (CIS/6-31G*), and Time-Dependent DFT (TDDFT/6-31G* and TDDFT/6-31+G*) methods. In computation of the emission S1&agrave / S0 energies, we have employed all methods above except ZINDO/S. In investigation of geometries of the ground and lowest singlet excited state, we compared the bond length alternation (BLA) parameters, Dri in the conjugated backbone of the oligomers. Saturation of the geometrical parameters at the center of oligomers was observed after a certain chain length. Among all methodologies used in computation of excitation (S1&szlig / S0) and emission (S1&agrave / S0) energies, TDDFT results showed the best agreement with experimental data. Fits of computed and experimental excitation energies to an exponential function using the least squares method enabled us to predict Effective Conjugation Length (ECL) values. We obtained the ECLs of 17 (17), 16 (15), and 14 (13) monomer units for polythiophene (PTh), polyfuran (PFu), and polypyrrole (PPr), which have very good agreement with the results obtained from the fits of experimental data (the values in parentheses).

Strategie a taktika v tenisové dvouhře / Strategy and tactics in tennis singles

Procházka, Josef January 2021 (has links)
Title: Strategy and tactics in tennis singles Objectives: The primary goal of this study was to inquire, at various levels of the training process, into what elite tennis players require from their coaches in order to maximize the outcomes of the training process. The secondary goal was to supply the perspective of the players with a perspective obtained from experienced tennis coaches. The coaches provided us with their views on what makes the training process effective. Methods: The research design of this study is a version of the multi-case explorative study that gathers data by means of semi-structured interviews. It is a case of qualitative research. The data obtained, in total from 18 respondents (9 players, 9 coaches), were submitted to a deductive form of thematic analysis. Two thematic tables and the related reports are the outcomes. The reports were made with the intention of formulating useful recommendations, whenever possible, and to relate the findings to the content of the theoretical part of the thesis. Results: Our data have underpinned the importance of tactics training. To maximize the effectiveness of the training process, it has been reported, it is necessary to bring the training process in terms of performance, in various aspects (tactics, psychology, physical performance...

On the role of the electron-electron interaction in two-dimensional quantum dots and rings

Waltersson, Erik January 2010 (has links)
Many-Body Perturbation Theory is put to test as a method for reliable calculations of the electron-electron interaction in two-dimensional quantum dots. We show that second order correlation gives qualitative agreement with experiments on a level which was not found within the Hartree-Fock description. For weaker confinements, the second order correction is shown to be insufficient and higher order contributions must be taken into account. We demonstrate that all order Many-Body Perturbation Theory in the form of the Coupled Cluster Singles and Doubles method yields very reliable results for confinements close to those estimated from experimental data. The possibility to use very large basis sets is shown to be a major advantage compared to Full Configuration Interaction approaches, especially for more than five confined electrons. Also, the possibility to utilize two-electron correlation in combination with tailor made potentials to achieve useful properties is explored. In the case of a two-dimensional quantum dot molecule we vary the interdot distance, and in the case of a two-dimensional quantum ring we vary the ring radius, in order to alter the spectra. In the latter case we demonstrate that correlation in combination with electromagnetic pulses can be used for the realization of quantum logical gates. / At the time of the doctoral defense, the following papers were unpublished and had a status as follows: Paper 5: Manuscript.

模糊資料分類與模式建構探討-以單身人口數及失業率為例 / A study on the fuzzy data classification and model construction - with case study on the population of singles versus unemployment rate

游鈞毅, Yu,Chun Yi Unknown Date (has links)
主要應用平均累加模糊熵(average of the sum of fuzzy entropies), 找出其結構性改變的區間。並針對區間型時間數列進行模式建構診斷與預測。最後我們以單身人口數與失業率為實列做一個詳細的探討。結果顯示,失業率對單身人口數有顯著的影響而孤鸞年的效應並不顯著。 / The application of data classifications in time series analysis and forecasting is rather important. The fuzzy data classification has received much attention recently. It can be applied on various fields such as finance, sociology, biomedicine, electrical engineering and so on. This study is to use the fuzzy data classification to perform an intensive research on the change periods detection and model construction of the interval time series. We use average of the sum of fuzzy entropies to find out interval of the structural changes. Focusing on the time series of intervals, we build a model and make prediction about it. At the end, based on the case study on the population of singles versus, we thoroughly discuss this topic. The result shows that the unemployment rate does significantly correlate with the population of singles, but the "widow's year" does not .
