Obraz smrti v pozdní adolescenci / Image of death in the late adolescence

Kubová, Blanka January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to present some possible concepts of death of individual in the stage of late adolescence. The basis of this work lies on qualitative and ethnographic research, which was made with students of VŠCHT at the age of 20-30 years. This text is devoted to images of death of these students. This thesis is composed of three main chapters: theoretical, methodological, practical. The goal of the theoretical part is to provide basic information on this subject and clarify the terms associated with death. The theoretical part deals with such issues as cultural background of death and fear of death. The methodological part is concerned with the characteristics of the research and the research sample. Among others I present here the used methods and clarify the goals of the research. Finally, in the practical chapter there are described possible concepts of death which came of the analysis of gained data. Description and analysis of these concepts are supplemented by quotations from interviews. In this part I introduce five concepts of death. Two of them I identified as a clean-cut, three of them as a transitional. Death is an area to which none of us has direct experience, therefore I consider interesting to deal with this topic. As the main contribution of this work I see the mapping...

Zánik manželství (výhled do zahraničí) / Termination of marriage (in comparison with foreign countries)

Solná, Radka January 2016 (has links)
RESUMÉ The topic of my thesis is the end of the marriage. In the thesis I deal with the particular types of the end of the marriage as well as with their legal consequences. The text is divided into introduction, four main chapters divided further into sub-chapters, and the conclusion. The first chapter focuses on the end of the marriage through divorce. First, I deal with the necessary preconditions for the divorce of the marriage. I distinguish two types of divorces, one with the investigation of the reasons of the disruption of the marriage and one without such investigation. I also describe clause protecting individual spouse from divorce in case the substantive damage may be caused to him or a minor child by divorce (so called hard clause). Further, I focus on matrimonial property and its liquidation after the divorce, on the living of respective spouses after the divorce and the possible obligation to pay maintenance. In the first chapter I also look into the arrangement of children after the divorce, i.e. the criterions which must be taken into account when assessing the situation of the child and its best interest, the legislation regarding custody of the child to solely one of the spouses, to their joint custody and the shared care. The main focus is on the shared care, which is still greatly...

Spálit a hotovo? " Pohřeb bez obřadu" očima pozůstalých / Burn it and that's it? "Funeral without a ceremony" from the survivors' perspective

Gajdoš, Adam January 2012 (has links)
In the past couple of years, Czech press has repeatedly reported on the ascending number of funerals without any ceremony. Among the interpretations of the approximately 30% share of this kind of funeral were high level of secularization, disintegration of social bonds and the modern denial of death. The present thesis offers a change of perspectives and focuses the analysis of the phenomenon "funeral without a ceremony" on the acteur perspective. Based on the analysis of ten semi-structured interviews, the author 1) indentifies the motivations, attitudes and situational factors that build up the respondent's legitimations of the decision for a funeral without a ceremony; and 2) systematically analyses and interprets the ritual practices and symbolic action (ritualizations), which the respondents report in relation with the death of a close one. A detailed analysis of the respondents narratives shows, that a funeral without a ceremony organized by a certified undertaker does not necessarily mean that the death is devoid of ritual, framing it in a way meaningful to the respondents. In a final remark, the author discusses the application of Tony Walter's ideal types of approach to death (Walter 1996) and concludes that while current death and funerary practice in the Czech Republic appears to...

Diskurzivní pravidla spojené s umíráním: Jak lidé hovoří o smrti blízkých / Discourse Rules Connected to Dying: How People Talk About Death of Close Ones

Exnerová, Dominika January 2016 (has links)
The thesis aims with discourse rules of dying of a close person. Author works with other theories, especially with Gorer's pornography of death and also comparisons of current situation and history of Ariés and Elias, who considered the current representations of death to be more a taboo than in the past. The practical base of the text is a research combining both in-depth interviews with young people and interpretations of closed groups, such as support group and internet discussion. The analysis identified two approaches in young people's families, focusing either on practical aspects of dying of a relative or on emotional aspects. These two approaches were in opposition against each other especially while both being present in a single family. Also, several conditions changing discourse rules were identified. The death of a young person or by suicide were more tabuized than death of an elder person. Generally, the research shows that people's view on death is not constructed by media as Gorer proposed, since young adult people have their own experience from their families. In this text, death is considered to be a taboo of the society because of strict boundaries of what is appropriate and inaproppriate. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

"Smrt v Benátkách": psychoanalytický přístup / "Death in Venise": a psychoanalytical approach

Sácký, Jan January 2021 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is to offer a psychoanalytical understanding of Thomas Mann's short story Death in Venice. This understanding is achieved through analysis of motive of godhood and the explanation of two dominant themes of the story, love and death. This thesis also compares the story of novella with Plato's dialogue Phaedrus and draws paralels between message of the novela and Sigmund Freud's work Beyond the pleasure principle and two of the fragments from Heraclitus of Ephesus. Thesis also offers brief research of what was already written about Death in Venice. The findings of my interpretation are compared to Heinz Kohut's interpretation of Death in Venice from 1957. O významu smrti u stoiků a epikurejců / On the Meaning of Death for the Stoics and for the Epicureans

Evjáková, Martina January 2012 (has links)
The main aim of this thesis is to present and compare the approaches of the two important Hellenistic philosophical schools - the Old Stoics and Epicurus - to the phenomenon of death in relationship to the concept of the soul. First, the problem is viewed through the perspective of physics. Epicurus and the Stoics adhere to the belief in the substantial (and not individual) immortality of the soul, resembling in some aspects the view of presocratic philosophers. The soul is uderstood by both schools as basis of life functions connected with heat and breath. Second, the ethical approaches to death by Epicurus and the Stoics and their different proposals for disposing of the fear of death are shortly introduced.
