El tema del siguiente proyecto de tesis es un centro de salud mental en Lima, Perú. El principal motivo de elección de este tema es el enfoque y exploración que se le puede dar en el campo de la arquitectura. ¿Es posible facilitar el proceso de recuperación de una enfermedad psicológica mediante la ayuda de la arquitectura sensorial? El objetivo de esta tesis es hacer un centro de salud mental que responda más adecuadamente a las necesidades de sus usuarios en la actualidad, para que esta funcione como un centro de reinserción y no de aislamiento. Paralelamente, por medio de esta investigación, se buscará hacer un aporte a la tipología existente a través de la arquitectura sensorial, basado en teorías y estudios, tanto científicos como arquitectónicos, acerca del espacio y su relación sensorial y emocional con las personas, proponiendo un tipo de ‘terapia espacial’ que, sin buscar querer ser una cura universal, mejore y potencie el funcionamiento principal de la tipología, la rehabilitación de sus pacientes. / The subject of the following thesis project is a mental health center in Lima, Peru. The main reason for choosing this topic is the approach and exploration that can be given in the field of architecture. Is it possible to facilitate the recovery process of a psychological illness through the help of sensory architecture? The objective of this thesis is to create a mental health center that responds more adequately to the needs of its users at present, so that it functions as a center of reintegration and not of isolation. In parallel, through this research, it will be sought to make a contribution to the existing typology through sensory architecture, based on theories and studies, both scientific and architectural, about space and its sensory and emotional relationship with people, proposing a ‘space therapy’ that, without seeking to be a ‘universal cure’, improve and enhance the main functioning of the typology, the rehabilitation of its patients. / Tesis
