Využití metody náhrady přírodních zdrojů ("resource equivalency method") pro hodnocení náhrady škod způsobených na ekosystémech člověkem / Methods of resource utilization equivalnecy method for assessing damages caused to human ecosystems

MUNDOKOVÁ, Mariana January 2011 (has links)
The economic evaluation of costs for remediation of montane spruce forest attacked by bark beetle in the different stage of decline (plots with actually living mature trees, plots with dead tree stand, wood is remaining in the ecosystem, plots with damaged stands, which were clear-cut, ten model plots) was made in the National Nature Park Šumava (Modrava model area) using resource equivalency method. Microclimatic characteristics (temperature and humidity development) measured ba dataloggers and communities of epigeic beetles (pitfall traps) were used as environmental metrics. Results indicate that the natural remediation of declined forest is economically most profitable. The microclimatic characteristics of plots with dead tree stand are most similar to the active forest. The species diversity, activity of beetles and frequency of relic species and species indicating virginal forest is higher in plots with dead tree stands. Based on these data we can resulted that the natural remediation of montane spruce forest is the most acceptable way both from biological and economical view (regeneration of ecosystem services of montane spruce forest).

A comparison of gap-filling methods for a long-term eddy covariance dataset from a Northern Old-growth Black Spruce forest

Soloway, Ashley 24 August 2016 (has links)
Boreal old-growth forests are key determinants in the global carbon cycle. It is unknown how the role of persistent old-growth forests will be in the carbon cycle in the face of predicted climatic changes. Eddy-covariance measurements are commonly used to quantify carbon exchange between ecosystems, such as forests, and the atmosphere. Error due to gap-fill method is of particular interest in these datasets. Here we filled a 15-year eddy covariance dataset from the Northern Old-Growth Boreal Black Spruce (Picea mariana) site located near Thompson, in central Manitoba, Canada using four different gap-fill methods. Our objectives were to determine if choice of gap-fill method affected annual NEP and if these errors compounded to even greater differences over the 15-year study period. Most significant differences in NEP among methods occurred from September to December, but variations during the growing season were responsible for most of the annual differences. / October 2016

Charakteristika společenstva hub na opadu smrku ztepilého kultivací a analýzou T-RFLP / Characterization of fungal community in spruce (Picea abies) litter using cultivation and T-RFLP

Kolářová, Zuzana January 2012 (has links)
Fungi have a key role in the decomposition of coniferous litter and affect nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems. Therefore, great emphasis is placed on exploring the diversity of these organisms. The aim of this thesis was to describe fungal diversity in spruce litter and revealed temporal development of this community in a forest regenerating after bark beetle outbreak. Another objective was to compare sites with different length of bark beetle damage. The study area was located in the Bohemian Forest mountain range. Litter bags with spruce needles were placed on the forest soil and several samplings were performed in the course of three years. Diversity of fungi and changes in the fungal community were assessed by two methods: cultivation of needles on 2ř MEA and fingerprinting method T-RFLP. In total 71 fungal species were obtained from needles during a three-year succession by cultivation approach. Using T-RFLP 122 different fragments were generally recorded. The dominant species were Scleroconidioma sphagnicola, Thysanophora penicillioides, Hormonema dematiodes, Ceuthospora pinastri, species of genus Chalara, Trichoderma polysporum, Mycena galopus and unknown species Helotiales sp. 1. Primary saprotrophs occured in the community mainly in first 8 months and then were replaced by basidiomycetes....

Dlouhodobá dynamika disturbancí smrkových lesů ve Vysokých Tatrách / Long-term disturbance dynamics of spruce forest in High Tatra Mts.

Beranová, Jana January 2018 (has links)
Spruce forest is an important production ecosystem for our civilization. Its development can be affected by three main types of disturbances: forest fire, windstorms and spruce bark beetle attack. Experiences with a massive and long-term attack of spruce bark beetle in the Šumava mountains and a strong windstorm in 2004 in the spruce forest in the High Tatra provoke questions, how natural are such severe disturbances. To understand the current development of forest ecosystems, it is necessary to study past structure of these forests and frequency of forest disturbances. This work is about locality Tatranská Lomnice located in the High Tatra mountains, in the belt of mountain spruce forest. In my work, I used mainly pollen and plant macro-fossils analyses. I compared my data with disturbance information originating from dendroecology for windstorms and from charcoal analysis for fires. My research found that according to the pollen assemblages, most of the disturbances did not have strong influence on the forest composition, and most likely they only caused the forest thinning. The most significant fire occurred around 1420. The most significant wind disturbance probably occurred in 1890. The was not found any effect of spruce bark beetle. In the past millennium disturbances affected spruce forest...

Der Einfluss von Bodenschutzkalkungen auf die Lumbricidenfauna in sächsischen Fichtenforsten

Patzelt, Josephine 22 May 2019 (has links)
[...] Es ist zu überlegen, inwieweit sich (Wieder-)Ansiedelungsmaßnahmen entsprechender Arten durchführen ließen.:1 Einleitung und Zielstellung ...........................................................................6 2 Grundlagen und Methodik ...........................................................................9 2.1 Naturraum ................................................................................................9 2.2 Regenwurmbiologie ................................................................................13 2.3 Methodik .................................................................................................18 2.4 Statistik ...................................................................................................21 3 Ergebnisse .................................................................................................23 3.1 Chemische Daten der Bodenzustandserhebung ....................................23 3.2 Individuendichte und Biomasse ..............................................................28 3.3 Zusammenhänge zur Bodenchemie .......................................................32 3.4 Artenfunde .............................................................................................42 4 Diskussion ..................................................................................................43 4.1 Kritik an der Methodik und der statistischen Auswertung .......................43 4.2 Ergebnisbewertung ................................................................................45 5 Zusammenfassung und Fazit ......................................................................49 6 Abstract .......................................................................................................51 7 Literaturverzeichnis .....................................................................................52 Anhang ...........................................................................................................62 / Since the end of the last century, liming is a common melioration measure in German forest and wood management against the acidity of soils, especially in the uplands like the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge) in Saxony. To record changes in ecosystems, there are different monitoring programms, for example the 'Bodenzustandserhebung (BZE)'. But also a biological component for detecting effects of liming on flora and fauna is needed. Earthworms are a very important group of the soil fauna. Therefore, this study was aimed at this family to track their reaction to liming in spruce forests in the Saxon Ore Mountains. The expectation of a positive reaction could be significantly approved on the basis of four paired habitats, each couple with a not limed and a limed counter-part. Four species of earthworms were recorded. Three of them are epigeic forms, one is an endogeic type. Important factors for their abundance and biomass are pH, exchange capacity of cations and saturation of bases. A linear correlation was not detected. In this study, the ratio of carbon and nitrogen in soils showed a link neither to lime nor to earthworms abundance or biomass. As a result, liming is a reasonable measure to reactivate the biological components in acid affected soils, but it is also needed to cultivate a more various forest ecosystem.:1 Einleitung und Zielstellung ...........................................................................6 2 Grundlagen und Methodik ...........................................................................9 2.1 Naturraum ................................................................................................9 2.2 Regenwurmbiologie ................................................................................13 2.3 Methodik .................................................................................................18 2.4 Statistik ...................................................................................................21 3 Ergebnisse .................................................................................................23 3.1 Chemische Daten der Bodenzustandserhebung ....................................23 3.2 Individuendichte und Biomasse ..............................................................28 3.3 Zusammenhänge zur Bodenchemie .......................................................32 3.4 Artenfunde .............................................................................................42 4 Diskussion ..................................................................................................43 4.1 Kritik an der Methodik und der statistischen Auswertung .......................43 4.2 Ergebnisbewertung ................................................................................45 5 Zusammenfassung und Fazit ......................................................................49 6 Abstract .......................................................................................................51 7 Literaturverzeichnis .....................................................................................52 Anhang ...........................................................................................................62

Modelování intercepce sněhu ve smrkovém lese v povodí Ptačího potoka na Šumavě / Modelling of snow interception in the spruce forest in the Ptačí Brook basin, Šumava Mts.

Míka, Dominik January 2021 (has links)
Snow interception is one of the most important process of the hydrological balance of river basins. Measuring of snow interception is a very complex activity, therefore, models are frequently used to calculated snow interception from the vegetation structure and measured meteorological variables. A field research has been carried out in the Ptačí Brook basin in the Sumava Mts. to describe the canopy structure of the spruce forest using hemispherical images taken in the winter season 2020/21. The vegetation characteristics are essential for modelling of the snow interception. The mean Leaf area index calculated from the hemispherical images at the study plot reached 2.34 with the respective canopy closure equal to 86.16%. These values were further used as input values for the calculation of seasonal cumulative snow interception at the study plot for the winter season 2020/21. The original, more complex model was compared with two, less complex equations. Consequently, the model was applied to four consecutive winter seasons 2017-2021. The efficiency of the snow interception (a proportion of the intercepted snow to total snowfall water equivalent) ranged from 36.85% to 45.81% depending on the study season. The snow interception efficiency was considerably higher in the last winter season compared to...

Tidig detektering avgranbarkborreangrepp med hjälp avfjärranalys via Sentinel-2

Eid, Najm Eddin, Jakobsson, Petter January 2022 (has links)
Granbarkborre är en av Sveriges mest destruktiva skadeinsekter som angriper granskog. Insekten har medfört förödande konsekvenser för granskog, framför allt sedan2018 där stora arealer granskog nästan har eliminerats. Insekten trivs i varmt ochtorrt klimat. / The spruce bark beetle is one of Sweden's most destructive pests that attack spruceforests. The insect has had devastating consequences for spruce forests, especiallysince 2018 where large areas of spruce forest have been almost eliminated. The insect thrives in warm and dry climates. The greenhouse effect in the form of heatwaves and periods of reduced rainfall is believed to favor this harmful insect as theycan reproduce several times and conquer new areas in a single summer season. A vital and necessary measure in combating pests is to remove infested trees beforethe spruce bark beetle leaves the bark. However, it is almost impossible to examineall the spruce forest in the traditional way, which is on foot, because it is time- andresource-consuming. In the early stage, the infested tree shows no significant colorchanges in the visible spectrum in remote sensing, which makes early detection difficult. To try to make this possible, this work intends to investigate the differences inhealthy and infested trees in time, where bands in the invisible spectrum such asShortWave Infrared were used. This was used, among other things, in the form ofband combinations, such as Atmospheric Penetration and Agriculture. In addition, empirical experiments were performed on different vegetation indices (VI) whichwere Normalized Simple Ratio, Enhanced Vegetation Index, Green ChlorophyllVegetation Index, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, Normalized DifferenceMoisture Index and Normalized Distance RED and SWIR. In this study, satellite images from Sentinel-2 were used over the study area in central Sweden during the months of May-September from 2020 to July 2022. Reported data for attacks by the spruce bark beetle in the study area were retrievedfrom the Global Biodiversity Information Facility and Holmen AB database archives. The Forestry Agency's open map service was used to obtain data on Sweden's forestspecies, to ensure that the study area consisted of spruce forest. By performing empirical experiments of the different VI and band combinationspresented in this study, some indications could be distinguished. Due to the problems with the various influencing factors, such as local climate in combination withthreshold values, it was difficult to establish a complete assessment. Our conclusionshows that the used vegetation indices and the two band combinations together withthe spatial resolution offered by Sentinel-2 do not achieve what is sought in thisstudy. The reason for this was that the possibility of identifying individual diseasedtrees in the study area was missing.
