BAKGRUND: När en patient vårdas i livets slutskede befinner sig ofta anhöriga i sorg med en ökad sårbarhet. Ett av målen med vård i livets slutskede är att sjuksköterskan bör omhänderta anhörigas psykologiska lidanden. SYFTE: Syftet med denna studie var att sammanställa och belysa forskning som beskriver sjuksköterskans omvårdnad och stöd åt anhöriga till patienter i livets slutskede. METOD: Studien var en litteraturöversikt baserad på vetenskapliga artiklar, både av kvalitativ och kvantitativ ansats. RESULTAT: Ur resultatet identifierades tre teman, vilka var Det verbala mötet, det känslomässiga stödet och det praktiska stödet. Det framkommer att kommunikation mellan sjuksköterska och anhörig var betydelsefull. Genom att en sjuksköterska visar sin fysiska närvaro kan det hjälpa anhöriga att hantera den svåra situationen. Anhöriga upplever ofta en meningsfullhet och trygghet när de får en aktiv roll i vården av patienten. DISKUSSION: Denna studie visar hur sjusköterskan kan ge stöd och omvårdnad till anhöriga. Genom att anhöriga känner att de fick stöd kan de lättare vara ett stöd för patienten. Mer forskning behövs inom detta område, detta för att anhöriga ska få mer uppmärksamhet i vård i livets slut. / BACKGROUND: When a patient is cared for at the end of life, relatives are often in mourning with an increased vulnerability. One of the goals in end of life care is that the nurse should dispose of relatives' psychological suffering. PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to collate and highlight research that describes the nurse´s care and support for relatives of patients in end of life. METHOD: The study was a literature review based on scientific articles, both qualitative and quantitative nature. RESULT: From the results three themes were identified, which were the verbal meeting, the emotional support and practical assistance. It was found that communication between nurses and relatives is important. By a nurse shows her physical presence, it can help relatives to cope with the difficult situation. Relatives often experience a meaningful and security when they have an active role in the care of the patient. DISCUSSION: This study illustrates how the nurse can provide support and care for relatives. By relatives feel they are supported, they can more easily be a support to the patient. More research is needed in this area, in order that relatives should receive more attention at the end of life.
