This diploma thesis examines the legislation of the status and organisation of the statistical service in Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1938 which has lacked sufficient exploration. In this period, statistics referring to public administration was centralised and under the responsibility of the State Statistical Council and the State Statistical Office. These institutions are given special attention, particularly issues associated with their intricate aspects: personnel, budget and location. While the State Statistical Office was one of the central government authorities in Czechoslovakia, the State Statistical Council had the nature of an advisory body and an independent decision-making authority. The centralisation did not apply to statistical surveys carried out by certain cities. This thesis uses primarily unpublished archive materials and published sources concerning the activities of the State Statistical Office and the State Statistical Council.

The Czech Republic has subscribed to fulfil the conclusions of the Fourth World Conference about Women held in Beijing in 1995. The state therefore took upon itself the obligations to address and resolve issues of equality between men and women. During the period of the 21st century gender equality has became one of the major issues being in the centre of attention of the Government, ministries and other state organs. The data and information divided by gender are collected, analyzed and presented by the Czech Statistical Office in gender statistics. The main objective of this thesis is, by using the available data statistics, to compare the status of men and women in selected areas, and with help of the concerned economic and social indicators, to map the situation and developments in the Czech society in the 21st century. In other word to find out where and to what extent the gender differences mainly occur. The analytical part of the thesis then investigates whether there have been any more significant after-shift, change, or development of selected indicators of gender statistics during the 21 century and, if so, in which analyzed area, what gender and to what extent.

This thesis deals with the problems of cardiovascular diseases in Czech Republic and selected EU countries. Over the long term mortality in the Czech Republic there are changes in mortality rates. Largest fluctuations in the intensity of mortality were caused just cardiovascular diseases. These changes can be explained by the greater part of the changing economic and social factors, eating habits and decrease levels of some risk factors. On overall cardiovascular mortality in the long term the most involved two groups of diseases, ischemic heart diseases and cerebrovascular diseases. In international comparisons, the differences in the development of cardiovascular mortality between developed countries and the former socialist countries considerable.

This diploma thesis is focused on possibility of influencing public opinion through appropriate modification of information or conclusions arising from the statistical data. The thesis is not classically divided into two parts but into five smaller chapters, which are connected to each other. Absence of practical part is caused by examples are contained in each chapter. Chapter with the practise examples is in the conclusion of the thesis. The examples are commonly available on the Internet and most people do not pay attention to them.

In this thesis, we assume observing a pair of trajectories of two objects which could interact with one another and we want to propose a way to test their independence. We formulate basic point process definitions and discuss ways to describe trajectory data. We formulate the theory behind Monte Carlo tests and global envelope testing. In Chapter 2, we propose a parametric model to represent trajectories and derive Maximum Likelihood estimates of its model. We conclude the chapter by exploring the performance of these estimates. In Chapter 3, we propose test statistics used to test for independence using a nonparametric Monte Carlo test based on a random shift approach. We perform a simulation study to assess the performance of these statistics under various conditions and discuss the selection of fine-tuning parameters. Finally, in Chapter 4, we study real data provided by the Voyageurs Wolf Project and apply the proposed tests on real wolf trajectories. 1

The diploma thesis focuses on the design of an application that will be used for the analysis of financial indicators. The application allows automatic calculation of financial indicators and regression analysis. It also allows a detailed analysis of calculated financial indicators using time series.

Title: Success rate monitoring of the selected volleyball spiker game moves in the male extraleague. Aim: The aim of the thesis is to find out the success of the players in the hitter's position in the best eight teams of the men's volleyball extraleague on the pass and on the attack. Method: The thesis is based on empirical research using the technique of data collection using indirect observation, survey and video analysis of selected matches. Results: The results confirmed that the second spikers were better players in the passing ball than first spikers. It was further confirmed that the first spikers were better attacking players than second spikers. The first spikers were more used in the attack than second spikers, it wasn't confirmed. This diploma thesis deals with the design and realisation of system for automatic evaluation of e-mail messages. The system works with PHP language and MySQL database. It also allows automatic synchronisation. During the synchronisation e-mail messages are downloaded and saved using IMAP or POP3 protocol. Subsequently, the messages are analysed. During the analysis the reports are classified into types, according to pre-defined keywords. The system also works with black lists and white lists. If the sender of an e-mail is during the synchronisation found in the blacklist, that e-mail will be skipped. On the contrary, if the sender of an e-mail is found within the white list, that e-mail will be excluded from keyword matching and from the list is type and category loaded. Most of the values from the carried out evaluation of the e-mails can be clearly seen in advanced statistics. Pie charts and numerical statistics are available. Access to the system is protected by a login. Therefore, login can only registered users.

The quality and the defectiveness of production are important factors in all sectors of engineering industry. On their improve there are a lot of effective tools, descriptive statistics is one of them. Descriptive statistic has many applicable tools but this work primarily focuses on desription of production using time series plot, testing of statistical hypothesis, testing of mutual dependencies of particular defects and control diagrams drawing. It is about a project that connects practice with theory.

This Master thesis deals with machine translation from Czech to Slovak. The first chapter motivates the work, the second discusses various approaches to machine translation and the third details evaluation of the methods. Chapter 4 introduces the design and implementation of my system, paying a special attention to a new parallel corpus that has been created. Chapter 5 summarizes testing and evaluation of the developed system.
