Medieval Mural Paintings in Southwest Bohemia (Districts Klatovy, Prachatice, Strakonice) ABSTRACT The thesis focuses on medieval mural paintings preserved in the forty five monuments in the region of southwest Bohemia, i.e. in the three main districts: Klatovy, Prachatice and Strakonice. The core of the thesis is an extensive catologue of the paintings covering the period from the 13th to the 16th centuries which represents first comprehensive treatment of the matter of the region in question. The main focus of the thesis is description of the paintings, their art historical evaluation and complex reconsideration of the literature to the subject including revision of the older proposals. In addition, an introduction of so far neglected, wrongly interpreted and newly discovered paintings contribute to the wide art-historical discussion. The thesis deals with the process of collectivization in the Strakonice district in the years 1948- 1960. In addition to a comprehensive description of collectivization in the Strakonice district, the thesis analyses to which extent could local institutions - national committees, secretariats of the communistic party, prosecutor's offices and courts - influence the course of collectivization in a particular place. This thesis focuses on the study of the psychological background of power relations and asks the question how effective was propaganda in creating the image of "kulaks" as a class enemy. The thesis consists of three chapters: In the first chapter deals with collectivization on a national scale - the roots of this policy, terminology, legal framework, key events and forms of propaganda. In the second chapter characterizes the economic and social aspects of the Strakonice district, the results of the process of collectivization there and the functioning of local institutions. The third chapter is devoted to case studies of five specific model municipalities in the district. The method of analysis and comparison will clarify the specific causes of the course of collectivization in the village. In the introduction of the diploma thesis there is discussed the question which every social worker knows: Could I have done something different? This is the question which is asked by almost everyone, especially a social worker. Further there is a brief outline of topics which are delineated in the diploma thesis. First chapter describes the institution Children´s Center JK Strakonice. Father there is a list of necessary knowledge which a social work should have for his or her occupation. Also the liabilities of the social worker to the clients are not left out. In this part there can be found also work with specific types of clients. For better understanding of the demands of social work in Children ´s Center JK Strakonice the thesis contains selected life stories of the women clients. These life stories should help to the reader to see the problems from different point of view and help to understand how much is important so that the clients decides himself or herself to solve his or her problems. In the second chapter there are described psychological and ethical dimensions of the profession, burnt out syndrome which is threat for everyone of us, especially for a social worker. In this chapter there are depicted causes of formation and manifestations of burnt out syndrome. The third chapter is also connected with the burnt out syndrome. The focus in this chapter is on prevention and protection. The attention is also paid to the personality of a social worker, his or her abilities to perceive the problem, but also experiences in moral decision-making and hierarchical position of values. The compliance of the principles of psycho hygiene and presence of supervision plays a very significant role. In the conclusion of the diploma thesis there is the summary of performance of a social worker in Children´s Center JK Strakonice. Every social worker should realise his or her responsibility not only to his or her clients, employer and colleagues but especially to himself or herself and his or her conscience. The interdependence of profession and conscience merges with the diploma thesis.

Primary art schools enjoy a long tradition in our country. The Primary Art School ``Kochana z Prachové{\crqq} in Strakonice celebrates already the 70th anniversary of its foundation. It is surprising that nobody has attempted to elaborate a comprehensive work concerning its history for the whole period. With respect to the fact that I have been teaching the piano playing here since 2006 and therefore I have become a part of it, I have chosen just the history thereof as the subject of my thesis. The Primary Art School participates in many cultural activities of the town of Strakonice and it is an important educational institution because it provides education to 750 pupils in four subjects - the musical, graphic, dancing and literary-dramatic ones and it prepares talented pupils for the study at secondary schools, colleges and universities focused on arts.
