Pėsčiųjų zonų plėtros pagrindimas / Substantiation of Pedestrian Area Development

This master thesis analyses the need and the purpose of pedestrian areas (PA), their significance for the environment, social sphere and for the system of communication. Main problems, related to increasing urban traffic and congestion are described and impact on the quality of city life is identified. Possibilities for development of pedestrian area in modern cities; social, economical, ecological effect of PA. Main issues (Physical and Functional Qualities; Sociability and Public Life; Human comfort and Needs), emerging in the course of planning new PA and analyzing existing ones, evaluation of their quality and success are reviewed. On the base of posed criteria, analyze is done as regards main pedestrian territories of biggest cities` centers (Vilnius, Kaunas), proposals are made. After the analyze of theoretical and practical aspects of PA development is done, the conclusions and proposals of the thesis are provided. The thesis consists of 6 parts: introduction, automobilization in cities, PA, pedestrian areas in Lithuanian cities` centers, conclusions and proposals, list of literature. The volume of the thesis is 105 pages of text, 22 pictures, 82 bibliography sources. Appendix to the thesis are included.

Dviratis miesto planavimo ir susisiekimo kontekste / The bicycle in the context of urban planning and transport

Baigiamajame darbe nagrinėjama dviračio vieta miesto planavimo ir susisiekimo kontekste. Analizuojama bevariklio transporto esama būklė įvairiuose Lietuvos bei užsienio miestuose. Nagrinėjami Lietuvos miestų perspektyvos, planavimo ir kūrimo etapai. Darba sudaro: įvadas, kuriame pateikiamas tyrimo objektas, problemos, nustatytas tikslas ir uždaviniai. Pirmoje darbo dalyje – nagrinėjama bevariklio transporto reikalingumas darniame mieste ( automobilizacijos lygio dinamika, intensyvumo kitimas, eismo įvykių kitimas, eismo įvykių statistikos rodikliai), antroje dalyje nagrinėjama bevariklio transporto istorinė raida ir esama būklė miesto planavimo bei susisiekimo kontekste (atlikti tyrimai dviračių srautų Panevėžio miesto gatvėse). Trečioje dalyje pateikiami Lietuvos miestų trasų perspektyvos, planavimo ir kūrimo etapai. Išvadose pateikiama bevariklio transporto reikalingumas darniame mieste. Darbo pabaigoje pateikiamas literatūros sąrašas. Darbo apimtis – 82 p. teksto be priedų, 57 iliustr., 12 lent., 39 bibliografiniai ���altiniai. Atskirai pridedami darbo priedai. / The object of this final project is bicycle in the context of urban planning and transport. This work analyses bicycle existance as motor vehicles alternative in Lithuania and in other European countries. The work consists of 3 parts: introduction, the analysis of current state, alternatives of the development, conclusion, suggestions and the list of literature. The need of bicycles in town development is analysed in the first part of the work (the level of automobilization, the statistics indicators of traffic accidents rate and etc.). Historical evolution of bicycle and the present situation of bicycle infrastructure in the context of urban planning and transport is described in the second part. The third part of the project describes the importance of bicycle transport development. Finally there are conclusion, suggestions and the list of literature. The volume of the project: 82 pages of text, 12 tables, 57 pictures, 39 sources of literature. Additions are enclosed.

Naujas keleivių terminalas Tarptautiniame Vilniaus oro uoste / New passenger terminal in Vilnius International airport

Baigiamojo magistro darbo tema - naujas keleivių terminalas Tarptautiniame Vilniaus oro uoste. Tyrimo tikslas – remiantis literatūros ir informaciniais šaltiniais, atliktais projektais ir prieš projektinėmis studijomis, išanalizuoti oro uostų terminalų pastatų projektavimo principus ir keliamus reikalavimus, atitinkančius šiuolaikiniams poreikiams. Tyrimo objektas – terminalo pastato vietos parinkimas ir projektavimas Tarptautiniame Vilniaus oro uoste. Tyrimo problema glūdi šiandienos situacijoje Vilniuje – augantis keleivių skaičius per metus, transporto infrastruktūros savitumas ir palankus urbanistinis kontekstas yra pagrindiniai veiksniai, sąlygosiantys netolimoje ateityje, šalia jau pastatyto terminalo, naujo terminalo statybą TVOU. Terminalo pasiūlą ir kokybę lemia augantis keleivių skaičius ir naujos technologijos. Darbo autorė siūlo Vilniaus tarptautiniame oro uoste statyti jos suprojektuotą keleivių terminalo pastatą. Projektuojant naują keleivių terminalo pastatą buvo siekiama išraiškingesnės architektūros, komfortabilesnės aplinkos ir mažinti eksploatacines išlaidas. Darbą sudaro 5 dalys: įvadas, analitinė dalis (iki projektiniai tyrimai), projektinė dalis (eksperimentinis projektavimas ir pastato projektas), išvados ir siūlymai, literatūros sąrašas. Darbo apimtis – 87 p. teksto be priedų, 35 iliustr., 2 lent., 17 bibliografiniai ir informaciniai šaltiniai; darbo priedai. Atskirai parengti projekto 10 brėžinių ir 2 maketai. / Theme of master final work – new passenger terminal in Vilnius International airport. Objective of the reseach – to analyse the principles and requirement for the passenger terminal building designing on the base of feasibility studies and projects, lieterature and information resources. Subject of reseach – the choice of plane and designing of passenger terminal building in Vilnius International airport. The problem is today‘s situation in Vilnius – increacing passenger number ,transport infrastructure peculiarity and urbanistic context are the key factors, which influence the construction of the new passenger terminal in International Vilnius airport in the near future. The supply of passenger terminal and their quality is predetermined by the passenger and new technology. Author of thesis offers to construct her designed passenger terminal in International Vilnius airport. In this project author try to reach more expressive architecture, better comfort for passengers and to reduce the exploitation expeditures. Structure: introduction, analytic part, design and pilot project, conclussion and suggestions, referentes. Thesis consists of : 87 p. text without appendixes, 35 pictures, 2 tables, 17 bibliographical entries. Appendixes included.10 drawings and 2 models.

Klaipėdos miesto subalansuota susisiekimo sistema / Sustainable transportation system in Klaipeda City

The subject of the work is Sustaqinable transportation system in Klaipeda city. The work covers the analysis of the importance of the transportation system in Klaipeda city in the context of global transportation system in Lithuania and EU. It provides with a number of soliutions corresponding to the provisions of White Paper on European Transport policy for 2010 and designed to achieve the sustainability of the existing transportation system. The progressive management of the transportation system invoking strategies and principles of the sustainable policy is proposed as one of the main soliutions for sustainable transportation. The establishment of a unified automatic ticketing system and an innovative transport mode is also proposed for the optimization of the operation of public transport in Klaipeda city. The work includes the research on the formation and the structure of parking places in the central part of Klaipeda city. The action plan and detailed, feasible solutions are proposed for the systematic development of the parking places. Sustainabgle transportation system in Klaipeda city is shaped with a view of creating proper conditions for both society and environment, harmonizing their interaction, and proposing strategy of sustainable transportation system suitable for unique surroundings of the city.
