Synchronizace cirkadiánního systému během prenatálního a časného postnatálního vývoje / Synchronization of circadian system during prenatal and early postnatal development

Houdek, Pavel January 2010 (has links)
One of the few attributes common to almost all living organisms is an ability to generate and maintain endogenous rhythms, which are controlled by a biological clock. The processes, which recur with a period of about 24 hours, are known as the circadian rhythms. The circadian clock controls rhythms of molecular, physiological as well as behavioral processes and adapts their activity to regularly appearing changes in day and night or season. In case of mammals, central oscillator is located in the hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN). The SCN clock entrains rhythms of peripheral oscillators located in cells of other tissues. The central oscillator itself is synchronized with external environment mainly by a light-dark cycle, however, other cues can entrain the SCN clock as well. For example, during prenatal development, entrainment of a fetal clock is entirely dependent on non-photic cues derived from maternal organism. This study aimed to investigate a mechanism of the communication between the maternal and fetal central oscillators. A hypothesis was tested whether maternal melatonin may play a role in entrainment of the circadian clock in the fetal SCN. Furthermore, a mechanism, how melatonin may entrain the fetal clock was investigated at molecular level. The results provided evidence, that...

Vyhodnocení biologické účinnosti pilotní instalace biodynamického osvětlení v domě seniorů / Evaluation of Biological Efficiency of Pilot Installation of Biodynamic Lighting in a Retirement Home

Halászová, Andrea January 2021 (has links)
Many actions we observe in nature show some kind of regularity, therefore we call them rhytms. Rhytms with a period of approximately 24 hours, so called circadian rhytms, can be distinguished in many physiological processes, with the sleep-wake cycle being one of the most prominent ones. Light is the main exogenous circadian synchronizator and thanks to the circadian rhytm influence on physiological function, it's also often spoken about an influence of light on the entire organism. Nowadays, when we spend most of the day indoors under artificial light, we often suffer from a lack of natural daylight and its synchronizing potential. This is even more prominent in elderly population living in nursing homes and in other social facilities. Lately, a new type of lighting, so called biodynamic, has been introduced. Biodynamic lighting can simulate changes in natural light conditions throughout the day and therefore partially compensate for the lack of natural daylight we suffer from, and also minimize risks of the night light. In this study we aimed to test changes in the circadian system of seniors living in the Retirement Home of TGM in Beroun using questionnaires and circadian markers. We have shown a positive effect of the installed biodynamic lighting on our participants' circadian markers and...

Implementace programových prostředků pro mobilní zařízení / Software for Mobile Devices

Zoufalý, Tomáš January 2009 (has links)
This master's thesis analyzes and designs implementation of the system for handheld devices like Motorola MC1000. These devices will be used for retrieving information from remote workplace. Data is transformed through SQL database and XML interface by using other parts of the system into economical software, where invoices are created, items are accounted or other operations could be done. This economical software provides some tables like products, warehouses and other information needed for the operation. Best use of the system is in warehouses of companies where products are identified by barcodes, which can be read by handheld device. One can create various documents using this system like conveyances, issue cards, receive cards etc. The next level, which is economical software, is responsible for processing of documents. The whole system is made-to-measure for software Pohoda from Stormware s.r.o. Nevertheless it can be used with another economical, accounting or similar software without any problem.

Vývoj cirkadiánního systému potkana v podmínkách stálého světla / Development of the rat circadian system under constant light conditions

Petrželková, Lucie January 2021 (has links)
The circadian system is a mechanism designed to generate circadian time and to synchronize it with the solar cycle. Its function is to adjust to behavioral and physiological function with the 24-hour period. The adjustment is performed using a so-called zeitgeber or synchronizer. The main circadian clock is in the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) in the hypothalamus. Prolonged exposure of the organism to constant light conditions results in desynchronization of the circadian clock, which can lead to many pathologies. The impact of light at night on the organism has been studied for a long time, but the question of the impact of constant light on the development of the circadian system of the organism has been less studied. My thesis deals with this issue. Using RT-qPCR I investigated how the rhytm changes in the expression of selected clock genes in selected parts of the rat's brain, which has been kept in constant light sice birth. I also tested the impact of exposure to constant light on the early development of rhytm in locomotor activity later in the rat's life. Keywords: circadian system, photic entrainment, desynchronization under constant light, development, rat

Synchronizace perifernich cirkadiannich hodin během ontogeneze / Synchronization of peripheral circadian clocks during ontogenesis.

Paušlyová, Lucia January 2013 (has links)
The circadian system is an important coordinator of physiological functions of a mammalian organism. It comprises of a central oscillator represented by cells in the suprachiasmatic nuclei of hypothalamus (SCN) and peripheral oscillators in most if not all cells of peripheral tissues. The peripheral oscillators, similarly to the central ones, generate circadian oscillations at the level of so called clock genes and their protein products. In peripheral tissues, oscillations in expression of the individual clock genes are autonomous, however, they need to be synchronized to ensure their robust rhythmic expression. The peripheral clocks are synchronized mainly by rhythmical signals from the SCN, including signals regulating food intake. Disturbances in the clock gene expressions, as well as impaired synchronization signals, can result in various pathophysiological states. Spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR) strain is a convenient animal model to study potential connection between the disturbed circadian system and progressive development of hypertension and metabolical diseases in mammals. Various studies have shown differences in the rhythmical expression of clock genes between SHR strain and normotensive Wistar/Wistar-Kyoto strain. The aim of this thesis is to provide insight into the early...

Identification of factors of business cycle synchronization within the EU

Irmann, David January 2015 (has links)
The objective of the thesis is to assess business cycle correlation and convergence in the European Union. The thesis also examines the effect of structural conver-gence, intra-industry trade intensity and other factors upon the above mentioned convergence of economic activities. For this purpose, the correlation analysis and panel data regression analysis are implemented. The results show positive influence of intra-industry trade intensity, whereas structural convergence indices report ra-ther unstable and heterogeneous outcomes.

Peer-To-Peer webové sdílení souborů ve skupině / Peer-To-Peer Web File Sharing in a Group

Pokorný, Filip January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with file sharing among users through peer-to-peer transfer in a web environment. The aim was to create a simple application which would provide a group of users with an opportunity to share files among them without any presence of third party or limitation. I have met the target using modern web technologies, of which the most important was WebRTC library through which peer-to-peer transfer has been implemented. These technologies were supported by optimased algorithm and the most recent tools for processing and storage of shared files. The result is a real-time application enabling users to create rooms, in which they can share their files. This product was subjected to speed tests, thanks to which the application turned out to be the fastest in the tested environment contrary to solutions with similar nature or any other commonly used tools for file sharing.
