Školní větné rozbory jako možný zdroj závislostních korpusů (?) / A school analysis as a possible source of treebanks (?)Konárová, Marie January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to explore the possibilities of using data from the school sentence analyses for tagging words in the language corpora. For testing of this hypothesis, a set of sentences has been selected from a common czech language textbook. Students of selected primary and secondary schools were asked to perform the syntactical analysis of these sentences. The data collection was carried out using a prototype sentence analysis editor Capek. The editor is still being developed, also based on feedback gained from the students and teachers who used it during the data collecting process. Several transformation rules for converting data from the school sentence analyses into the data structures used within the Prague Dependency corpus were developed. The accuracy of the conversion using the proposed rules was tested together with the accuracy of students' results.

Mimetic devices of style in the earlier fiction of James Joyce : 'Dubliners', 'Stephen Hero', 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man'Koizumi, Symphorosa Sophia Yoko January 2009 (has links)
The major characteristics of Joyce's stylistic achievement in the organic unity of contents and expressions are, firstlyp the 'style* is not intended to reveal the author but the whatness, of his characters and subjects described and secondly Joyce's 'style' contains in itself particular meanings beyond the limits of the semantic and lexical contents of words. These features are more specifically defined as his use of the language for mimetic purposes to revealp suggest and represent consciousness (sometimes even unconscious and subconscious) mood, emotion mental patterns thought processes physical movement situation impression and sound effects through his command of the rhythmical syntactical and other grammatical, and phonological possibilities of his medium. In his earlier worksp Dubliners and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man(and Stephen Hero for comparison with the Portrait) examination of the variety of his mimetic devices and their purposes contributes to the better comprehension of his works where each stylistic pattern, whether occurring in limited locality or throughout is woven into the whole design of the works. The main recurrent devices can roughly be distinguished as follows andt accordingly, Joyce's mimetic creative ability and variety in his earlier works are to be examined under the following classification: 1. Rhythmic (defined as 'repetition with variations') devices to represent and reveal certain concealed aspects and qualities of his characters; firstly, for characterization by means of special devices of appellations and secondly for revealing the preoccupations and concerns. II. Syntactical grammatical and rhythmic devices to represent, reflect and suggest firstly, his characters thought processes mental patterns emotion, mood and other psychological aspects, and secondly physical movement situation, atmosphere and impression. III. Phonological devices to imitate and suggest actual and imaginary sounds.

Adults, target-words, and the child's syntactical developmentLundberg, Johanna January 2003 (has links)

Language cannot be learned without linguistic input. Hence, the environment plays an important role in childrens’ language development. In this paper it is examined how important the environment’s role is. Two views are described: Universal Grammar and Emergentism. They are in this paper considered to represent two basic stances; the innate stance and the “non-innate” stance. The overall aim is to present evidence in favour of either Emergentism or Universal Grammar. It is achieved by a theoretical discussion and the findings from an observation. In the observational study the aim is to see if and, if so, how adults provide clues for children to develop their syntax. This is achieved by looking at target-words and how the adults use context and prosody to supply children with them. The findings show that the adults extensively use context when talking to children. The theoretical discussion together with the findings, are here found to support Emergentism, the non-innate view.

Kalbotyros terminai J. Palionio ,,Kalbos mokslo pradmenyse" / Linquistic terms in ,,Kalbos mokslo pradmenyse“ [,,The Elements of Linquistics Science“] by J. PalionisBučelienė, Jolanta 24 September 2008 (has links)
Darbe analizuojama kalbotyros mokslo terminų, pavartotų J. Palionio vadovėlyje, kilmė ir sandara. Čia aprašoma terminų kilmė, daryba, sudėtinių terminų struktūra, jų dėmenų sintaksiniai ryšiai. Nustatomas įvairių rūšių terminų (vienažodžių ir sudėtinių; lietuviškų, hibridinių ir tarptautinių ir pan.) procentinis santykis. Iš viso surinkta 2280 terminai. Rasti terminai abėcėlės tvarka surašyti darbo pabaigoje pridėtoje terminų rodyklėje. Terminais šiame darbe laikomi tik daiktavardžiai. Antroje dalyje aptariami J. Palionio ,,Kalbos mokslo pradmenų“ vadovėlio vienažodžiai kalbotyros terminai kilmės atžvilgiu – išskirti ir aprašyti lietuviški, tarptautiniai ir hibridiniai terminai, taip pat aptariama terminų daryba. Lietuviški ir hibridiniai terminai čia skirstomi pagal darybos būdus (priesagų, galūnių, priešdėlių vediniai ir dūriniai), o tarptautiniai – pirminius, darinius ir darybiškai neaiškius. Trečioje dalyje nagrinėjama sudėtinių terminų sandara. Atskirai aptariami sudėtiniai dvižodžiai, trižodžiai ir daugiažodžiai terminai. Aprašoma ir sudėtinių terminų dėmenų kilmė. Terminai grupuojami pagal jų dėmenų sintaksinius santykius, struktūrą. Darbo pabaigoje pateikiamos apibendrintos analizės išvados, šaltiniai, naudotos literatūros sąrašas. / The paper analyses the origin and structure of linguistic terms used in J. Palionis textbook. The paper describes the origin and composition of terms as well as the structure of compound terms and syntactical relations of components. It establishes the percentage of different types of terms (one-words and compounds; Lithuanian, hybrid and international, etc). The total of 2280 terms were collected. The gathered terms are attached in the alphabetical order in the Terms Index of the final section of the paper. This paper considers the terms as nouns. The second section discusses the origin of linguistic one-word terms provided in the textbook “Basics of Linguistics“ by J. Palionis – it identifies and describes Lithuanian, international and hybrid terms as well as discusses the composition of terms. Lithuanian and hybrid terms are grouped on the basis of the methods of composition (suffixes, endings, derivatives and compounds of prefixes) and international terms are grouped into original, compounds and ambiguous terms. The third section deals with the structure of compound terms. It discusses separately compound two-word, three- word and multi-word terms. The section also describes the origin of components of compound terms. The terms are grouped on the basis of the syntactical relations of their components and the structure. The final section of the paper presents the summarized conclusions of the analysis, references and the list of literature.

In the world that has become secular and where the Christian tradition is declining, we are entitled to question the pertinence of the biblical texts. In link with this situation, one can also wonder which representation of God arises depending how one receives these texts. This type of questioning underlies the interest that a Process approach of biblical texts can represent, even though the approach is still not much known in the French-speaking world. Does this approach possesses the ability of bringing some novelty to the vision of God generally offered in the Christian world ? To answer this, it seemed preferable to try the experience from a founding and forerunner text. Genesis 2, known to tell the creation of Adam and Eve, is bearing most stereotypic images by having been read and read, and chewed again. Therefore, seemed to be particularly accurate. But even before exploring the text from a Process angle, it has been proved essential to begin this with a personal translation of the Hebrew text, from and with the help of a syntactic and textual analysis, which as it will be shown, has conducted to open the text to new assumptions of translations and nuances, as so many tracks to be confronted to a Process theology. Finally, this analysis cannot be made without engaging in a dialogue with different commentaries, exegetical or not, in order to underline the convergences as well as the divergences met in the course of the research and of the reflexion.

Syntaktické a lexikální možnosti vyjadřování negace v norštině a němčině / Syntactical and Lexical Negation in Norwegian and GermanZahradníčková, Ivana January 2011 (has links)
Klíčová slova: v tný a lexikální zápor, n mecké a norské negativní prefixy a sufixy, domácí a cizí prefixy Abstract The thesis is devoted to the subject of syntactical and lexical negation in German and Norwegian language. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the way of creation and application of the negations in both languages is described. In the following chapters, meanings of lexical negations (negative affixes) and possibilities of their application are depicted. In the practical part of the thesis an analysis was conducted, covering the ways of negations which are used most frequently and also the ways they are translated from German to Norwegian and vice versa. For this reason, a text...
