VYUŽITÍ MODERNÍCH NUMERICKÝCH METOD PŘI NÁVRHU SPÍNACÍCH PŘÍSTROJŮ / USING MODERN NUMERIC METHODS IN DESIGN OF LOW VOLTAGE CIRCUIT BREAKERS

Dostál, Lukáš January 2019 (has links)
The theses is focused on efficient use of numerical methods in development of low-voltage switching devices, namely to create a physically correct and reliable numerical model of the temperature field to find an application in the design of the current path of a device for various operating conditions. The creation of this numerical model requires not only correct inclusion of all modes of heat transfer - conduction, convection and radiation, but also correct solution of problematic transient resistance - both electrical and thermal in electrical contacts at different stages of usage. Therefore an essential part of the theses forms a thorough experimental analysis of the necessary material properties and dependencies which forms input data for the numerical model that is based on the finite volume method. The last part of the theses deals with debugging and verification of numerical model to correspond with experimentally obtained data. The result of the theses is the numerical model which is able to solve correctly both steady and various transient states of swiching devices.

Evaluation of Warming function vs Single scenario / Utvärdering av Warming function mot Single scenario

Liljedahl, Ida, Rondahl, Ebba January 2022 (has links)
The private sector has an increasingly important role in limiting the temperature rise to below the crucial 1.5°C of the Paris Agreement. In order to assess how well a portfolio is aligned to the goals of the Paris Agreement, benchmarks need be used. The creation of benchmarks is complex and varying methodologies with associated opinions exist. The purpose of this thesis is to examine two different approaches for creating benchmarks; Single scenario and Warming function. The usability of the benchmarks is examined from the perspective of a financial institution. The methodology is based on a literature review of earlier research. Using empirical data the different methods are tested in a smaller Case study and on a larger data set. The results give insights in different advantages and disadvantages of the methods. Using a Single scenario approach allows for a more granular analysis, however it is criticized for being misleading as the result is easily manipulated. The Warming function is less granular, as almost all companies in the empirical data are assessed against the same benchmark - creating unfair results for companies active in sectors with different demands on emission reduction. In order to gain sectoral granularity the Warming function methodology need to be investigated further. By lowering the demands on the final benchmarks, the adaptation to different sectors can increase inthe Warming function approach.

\"Terapia endodôntica associada à irradiação do canal radicular com laser de diodo: avaliação térmica, morfológica, microbiológica e da infiltração marginal apical\" / Endodontic root canal therapy usindg diode laser irradiation: thermographic, morphological, microbiological and marginal apical leakge studies

Ribeiro, Adriana da Costa 06 February 2007 (has links)
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of diode laser irradiation associated with endodontic therapy. The aspects analyzed were: temperature rise at the external root surface, morphological changes at the dentine root walls, apical marginal leakage after root sealing, and microbiological reduction after laser irradiation. The temperature rise in inferior incisor teeth was monitored using a thermographic camera. Two laser treatment parameters were investigated: continuous emission mode (CW) with P = 2.5 W and pulsed emission mode (PL) with average power?P = 1.25 W. The morphological changes of irradiated samples were analyzed by SEM for both treatment modes and compared with a non-irradiated control group. The apical marginal leakage was measured after the immersion in methylene blue solution for irradiated (CW; P = 2.5 W) and non-irradiated samples sealed by one of the following endodontic sealers: N-Rickert, AH Plus or Apexit. The reduction in microbiological activity after conventional endodontic therapy and after laser irradiation was evaluated in primary endodontic infection using culture and PCR techniques, where the control group used conventional 0.5 % NaOCl solution and calcium hydroxide treatment was compared with laser irradiation (CW; P = 2.5 W). The reduction of viable anaerobic microorganisms, the quantity of E. faecalis and Lactobacillus per samples, and the rate of E. faecalis and Lactobacillus per viable microorganism were analyzed. The temperature rise at external root surface during root canal irradiation in both continuous and pulsed emission modes was demonstrated not exceed the safety limit of 10 ºC. The maximum median temperature variation was 8.6 °C (CW) at the continuous emission mode and 1.6 °C at pulsed mode (PL) (Wilcoxon, p < 0.05). The optimal ?resting time? between each of five irradiation cycles was 12 determined to be 20 seconds to allow for tissue cooling and hence to prevent potential dangerous rises in the tissue temperature. SEM analysis revealed melting of dentine and closure of dentinal tubules especially at apical third for both irradiation conditions. The apical marginal leakage was significant reduced in the irradiated samples sealed with Apexit (Kruskal Wallis, p < 0.05). The prevalence of the viable anaerobic microorganisms exhibited reduced with time in both the control and laser groups with no statistical difference (Mann-Whitney p > 0.05). The Lactobacillus rate per viable microorganisms in the control group was 22 % at the beginning of the treatment and decreasing to zero at the end. This microorganism was not detected in laser group. The rate of Enterococcus per viable microorganism ranged 36 % to 50 % in the control group and 22 % to 0 % in laser group at the begin and the end of treatments, respectively. The conclusion is that diode laser technology is suitable for applications in endodontic therapy under the conditions tested in this study, however, the biological effects are similar to well done conventional endodontic therapy.

Analyse électrothermique des faisceaux de câbles de puissance : une contribution à l’optimisation des systèmes de distribution d’énergie dans les véhicules routiers à propulsion électrique / Electro-thermal analysis of power cable harnesses : a contribution for the optimization of energy distribution systems in road vehicles with electric drives

Holyk, Christophe 04 December 2014 (has links)
In the context of growing ecological concerns, the development of road transport vehicles moves itself toward the development of less polluting vehicles with electric drives such as Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and full Electric Vehicles (EVs). With rising power requirements and reducing available space, thermal management is becoming an increasingly important concern during development of on-board vehicle components such as electric motor(s)/generator(s), power inverter(s), battery pack(s) and cable harnesses. Among them, the cable harness which is typically composed of electrical cables, connectors and power distribution boxes can only be designed properly after a detailed thermal, electrical, chemical and mechanical analysis. This thesis is written to contribute to the optimization of the electro-thermal design of cable harnesses through simulations and reduce the amount of experimental testing needed during their development. Theoretical models for the prediction of the electrical and thermal behavior of electric cables and cable harnesses are reviewed and adapted for automotive requirements. Validation is accomplished by comparing simulation results with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and measurement data. A major part of this thesis addresses the thermal simulation of electrical cables of infinite length installed in air, taking into account the temperature dependencies of conductor resistances and non-linearity of the total heat transfer coefficient at the cable surface. The influence of shielding currents and arbitrary current loads in the conductors on the temperature rises within electric cables is also considered using thermal ladder networks and illustrated by practical examples. Because shielding currents in vehicles are not only caused by induced currents but also by functional electrical currents generated by low-voltage power sources, new theoretical studies and experimental observations for the estimation of these currents as a function of the vehicle electrical architecture and circuit characteristics are presented. A primary finding reveals that keeping the resistance of grounding connections low compared to that of the shielding connections is an appropriate but expensive means for limiting the transfer of functional currents in the shielding circuits. Finally, a complete and modular model for the prediction of transient temperatures along the length of cable harness sections is developed and validated based on the outcomes of all previous findings.

Modelová studie účinků ultrazvuku na vývoj plodu / Model Study of Ultrasound Effects on Fetal Development

Jaroš, Josef January 2009 (has links)
The progress in ultrasound techniques goes hand in hand with increasing of diagnostic machine acoustic outputs. Ultrasound biological effects can adversely influence the development of human fetus. Recent studies of thermal effect on biological tissues are usually based on simulation of simple ultrasound transducers. The aim of this work is to build a flexible model of diagnostic system to simulate temperature increase during fetal development. Different types of ultrasound probes were used for generation of acoustic field with simulated piezoelectric element properties. Optimized linear and phased arrays were modeled with dynamic beam steering and focus. Computer simulations were concentrated on extreme conditions in obstetric ultrasonography and 3D tissue model was compared with real ultrasound probes measurements. To detect temperature increase, the bone tissue phantom was used. Results point out potential risks for fetus with diagnostic ultrasound probes. Based on the results of this work, practical recommendations increasing safety of obstetric examinations were drawn.
